Let’s take a closer look at your laps in the BMW M4 GT3 Evo around Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg – Grand Prix layout.
The BMW M4 GT3 Evo is particularly effective at Hockenheim, where strong braking stability and predictable handling are essential. Through the fast opening corner, the BMW rewards a confident turn-in with minimal steering corrections, allowing you to carry momentum onto the following straight. The heavy braking zone into the Spitzkehre hairpin is a major opportunity to gain time, but braking too late can compromise rotation and traction on exit. Through the Mercedes Arena, focus on linking corners smoothly, using controlled trail braking to help the BMW change direction without overloading the front tyres.
Across the lap, the BMW M4 GT3 Evo performs best when you balance aggressive braking with patient throttle application. The technical stadium section demands precision, particularly through the slower corners where excessive entry speed can create understeer. Prioritise getting the BMW rotated early, allowing you to straighten the steering and accelerate confidently towards the next corner. With consistent braking points, smooth weight transfer and strong exits, the M4 GT3 Evo becomes a stable and competitive package around Hockenheim.
Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example
Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example

It looks like you have really progressed with the throttle over the last few months. This plan encompasses all the aspects of the go faster pedal. It is key to treat this pedal with respect and precision regardless of the power of the car and you now understand the power the throttle has on tuning the car too. Keep at it as there are still times where you are rushing to 100% and others where you are too patient. Practice makes perfect.
Extra -
You are braking too late, causing you to carry too much speed and overshoot the chicane, costing you a considerable amount of time as a result of your line being significantly affected. Try braking at an earlier point to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time overall. - Example

Your last plan was meant to be Racing Line - Bringing it All Together
You have exhibited exceptional mastery of the racing line, consistently choosing the optimal path through corners to maximise speed and efficiency. Your precision in hitting the apex and maintaining the ideal trajectory from entry to exit ensures minimal distance travelled and maximum momentum. Your ability to adapt to varying track conditions while maintaining the perfect line demonstrates a deep understanding of car dynamics and track geometry. Smooth, controlled steering inputs and flawless execution of line choice significantly contribute to your competitive lap times, showcasing a high level of skill and situational awareness essential for peak performance.
Extra - You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure so you can carry more speed through the corner and gain more time overall due to maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

The attempt here was commendable. But, considering this challenge aims to integrate all skills, the bar for passing is set significantly higher. Mastery in every aspect—entry, apex, and exit—is crucial for advancement. Focus especially on utilizing the track more effectively during entries and exits.
Extra - You are turning too late and too much, causing significant understeer and resulting in you missing the apex and the racing line entirely. Try turning in a bit earlier and a bit less to avoid inducing understeer. - Example
----------------------
30/03/2026
Nice stuff. With all you have learnt in the last few months you are beginning to master the braking game. We looked at timing, pressure, speed and trailbraking and you have really progressed in all these areas. As always there is no such thing as perfect so keep working at it because you can always improve. Keep looking at the telemetry to get clues.
Extra - Be careful with applying too much brake pressure for too long, as you had to get off the brakes to roll more speed before reapplying the brakes. Try ease off the brake pressure a bit quicker, so you can carry more speed under braking and gain more time. - Example
----------------------
15/03/2026
You are most of the way there with braking but I am seeing a few areas we could improve. Since this is about bringing all the areas into one assessment I would like to see you try this again. Focus particularly on your braking point and the way you trailbrake. Try to also hit the brakes only once in key braking zones. You are almost there, lets just get this right before moving on.
Extra - Currently, the mai challenge is your tendency to back off the throttle instead of committing to full 100% acceleration. A small adjustment to your line, hugging the apex more closely, will greatly improve this. Example
----------------------
27/02/2026
Your steering looks very smooth and you unwind the wheel quickly but in control. This enables you to get on the power faster as the car can straighten up under traction. The car is also more stable and predictable, giving you better control as you power out of the corner. Try to use the reference to compare your steering on turn-in as well to further improve your times. Braking up next
Extra - Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example
----------------------
13/02/2026
To refine your vehicle control, focus on smooth steering transitions when exiting a turn. Instead of forcing the wheel back into position, allow it to naturally return to neutral. This process, known as unwinding, involves gently easing your grip and letting the wheel slip through your hands in a controlled way. To perfect this, practice with your hands at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions, ensuring that the wheel self-corrects with minimal effort as the car straightens. By doing so, you'll not only improve handling but also promote even tire wear. Precision in your steering inputs is key to mastering this skill, which is essential for acing both this and future assessments.
Extra - Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example
----------------------
30/01/2026
Your braking technique is decent; you've got the timing down pretty well. However, there's still work to be done on how you apply the brakes for smoother control. Your understanding of brake bias is adequate, but there's potential to improve how you use it for better cornering. Keep working on these details.
Extra - Here you turn in too early. This means your exit is compromised because you have to delay the throttle to get around the tightening radius. For corners like this where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later and getting on the throttle early by straightening the wheel sooner. Example

Please do more laps. You need between 30 to 50 to really see how you're doing. Our trainers are here to help whenever. Good luck and have fun out there!

04/01/2026
You’ve got some braking issues here. The trick is really to lean on that brake pedal—push it right to the edge. As you get sharper, this is one of the easiest places to shave off a tenth or two. Braking’s a mix of muscle and finesse: hit the marker hard, then bleed off smoothly into the apex. Right now you’re a bit inconsistent on the pedal. Keep at it, you’ll tighten it up.
Extra - Currently, the main challenge is your tendency to back off the throttle instead of committing to full 100% acceleration. A small adjustment to your line, hugging the apex more closely, will greatly improve this. Example
----------------------
19/12/2025
There are general braking errors here. It is very important to push the boundaries of brake pedal, as you improve it is this one of the best ways to find a tenth or two on track. The brakes need force and finesse at the same time. It is all about nailing that braking point and then smoothly transitioning into the apex. You are a little bit too inconsistent on the pedal. Keep trying.
Extra - By not aiming for the sharpest possible apex, you're losing precious speed mid-corner. It's crucial to make use of every bit of track space available at the entry, apex, and exit points where your vehicle maintains stability. Example
----------------------
05/12/2025
Good job with you turn in points. No drifting towards the apex before you had fully committed. Your turn in point determines how much speed you take into the corner. If you turn in too early or too late, you'll lose time. Keep up the good work!
Extra - In general, you are braking too early and not using enough pressure. If you use more brake pressure, you can brake later and find a lot of time. Try to brake quickly, hold peak pressure and then lift off quickly. Currently you are pressing the brake multiple times in 1 braking zone. - example
----------------------
22/11/2025
We believe that you should have another go at this assignment. Right now, your main focus point should be using more track on the corner entry. That will help you find better turn-in points and have a better angle of attack into the corner, carrying more speed and having more grip through it.
Extra - Even though your apexes were really good, it is important also to get the width on entry and exit from the corners, work on this as you look at the second aspect of your braking. Example
----------------------

Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!
----------------------
15/10/2025
Impressive driving. Your consistency, knowledge of the track and overall racing technique is looking strong. Obviously this is reflected in the lap times. Congratulations. All good drivers will take the time to examine their telemetry. When you are drive so well, sometimes it is hard to see exactly the mistakes that are taking place on track. Just the knowledge that sometime wasn't perfect is keeping you grinding out the laps. This is great and instils needed muscle memory however, we'd advise getting dirty in the telemetry a bit more. Find common issues, or weak corners so when you are next on track you can hone in on needed areas. Train smart and train hard! Good luck.
Extra - Try to be less erratic with the throttle, smaller motions will help. This is tricky but when you ease off the throttle, you often take the throttle to 20-30% pressure. Try to use smaller movements to avoid slowing the car too much. Example
----------------------
26/09/2025
The primary challenge lies in the fact that each segment presents several issues that need to be tackled. Often, the choice of racing line was suboptimal, making it tough to position yourself for a strong exit. Additionally, the high number of invalid laps indicates you might be pushing a bit too hard. It would be wiser to slightly reduce your speed to ensure race readiness. While having one outstanding hotlap is impressive, achieving 20 laps of fast, consistent driving is what will clinch more victories. This consistency will also enhance your adaptability from one segment to another, or even within a single corner. You'll gain a deeper understanding of your car, enabling you to make small, confident adjustments that will ultimately lower your lap times. Remember, smart training leads to great results.
Extra - Your car's speed through the corner suffers because you're not hugging the apex closely. Remember to leverage the full width of the track right from the entry, through the apex, and as you exit, particularly where your car feels stable. Example
----------------------
12/09/2025
It is not uncommon for the third combination assessment to take a while. The main issues are that each segment has a couple of problems that need addressing. Racing line choice was often out and thus setting yourself up for a good exit was at times extremely hard. A lot of invalid laps as well is a sign that you are trying to push yourself just that little bit too much. It is better to drop your pace just a little to get yourself race ready. One exceptional hotlap is great but 20 laps of fast consistent lapping will win you more races. You'll also find that when you have that consistency you'll be able to adapt better from one segment to the next or even within a corner. You'll understand your car better and be able to make micro adjustments with a confidence that brings down your lap times. Train smart and good things will come.
Extra - Right now, the most significant problem is releasing the throttle early rather than pushing it all the way to 100%. Make a minor change to your path by tightening up toward the apex, which should help immensely. Example

This is unfortunately still not a pass, but you're close! Most of the previously learnt skills were applied, but there are some key flaws that need to be addressed.
First, there are many segments where you need to use more track, mainly on the approach and corner entries, then there are also some braking zones where you're pumping the brakes and a bit on and off. Finally, the same can be said on your throttle inputs at the corner exit, there are a few segments where you're on and off the throttle and where you needed to lift off instead of keeping it at full throttle.
Work on these things a bit more and you'll surely pass! If you need to, feel free to read the respective assignments, their links are further down the page.
Good luck!
Extra - You can adjust your racing line slightly in this segment to gain more time. On the left-hander, you can aim for a wider exit and use more kerb there, that'll give you a straighter, faster exit from the whole segment and will enable you to use more track.

Well done, you have successfully completed your setup work. Your dedication, hard work, and hopefully new understanding of setups have allowed you to pass this milestone. Your grasp of testing different setups in sim racing demonstrates your commitment to improving your skills. Congratulations on your achievement and good luck for your next Combination Assessment.
Extra - By not aiming for the sharpest possible apex, you're losing precious speed mid-corner. It's crucial to make use of every bit of track space available at the entry, apex, and exit points where your vehicle maintains stability. Example
----------------------
20/06/2025
Sorry for the delay on the update.
This is an irregular assessment but it does help to set a foundation of driving and analysing, please follow the criteria outlines below to advance to your next training plan.
Pass Criteria:
1. A minimum of 5 sessions on the same track;
2. Each session a minimum of 5 laps (a session with two or three laps is usually not enough to understand how the car behaves in the long term);
3. Analysis of at least 50 segments.
Extra - You're usually releasing the brakes very abruptly at the corner entry (example). This is then causing you to brake earlier and also accelerate earlier in the corner to compensate for that. Ensuring smooth brake modulation helps maintain car balance, control its rotation and maximizes tire grip. Apply strong braking at first, then slowly reduce pressure as you steer into the corner, completing the release at the apex.
As an example, start easing off the brakes right at turn-in to carry more controlled speed through the corner.
----------------------
06/06/2025
Your consistency of reaching 100% throttle as quickly as the reference lap was reasonably good. You are getting the hang of a technique here that many drivers find hard. There is still room for a faster application so keep working on it. Go through the items on the Previous Plans list that you struggle with most and you'll be knocking even more time off your laps.
Extra - The goal is to make the corner as wide as possible to be able to carry more speed through it. To do that, you need to stay right on the edge of the track on the approach to the corner, stay wide until you reach a good turn-in point, then aim for the apex. On the exit the goal is usually the same: start accelerating near the apex and aim to go as wide as you can without going over the track limits. Don't be afraid to try to get on the kerbs, you can gain a lot of time by using them! Example
