Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.  Good luck and have fun on track

Bonus Focus Point

You are braking too early, causing your speed to drop significantly earlier than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking a later point so you can gain more time overall by carrying more speed under braking and maintaining a higher minimum speed in general through the corner. - Example

Previous Instructor Notes

17/05/2026 - 06/08/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

No assessment.

----------------------

30/04/2026
Your braking technique is decent; you've got the timing down pretty well. However, there's still work to be done on how you apply the brakes for smoother control. Your understanding of brake bias is adequate, but there's potential to improve how you use it for better cornering. Keep working on these details.

Extra -

You are braking too early, causing your speed to be reduced before the ideal braking point, and costing you time as a result. The brake pressure itself is good, but try brake later, so you can gain time simply by just carrying more speed under braking with a later braking point. - Example

----------------------

16/04/2026
Your turn in point was extremely good, there was no drifting towards the corner apex before you fully commit to the turn in.  This turn in point determines the speed at which you enter a corner. Turning in too early or too late can result in either scrubbing off too much speed or carrying too much speed into the corner, making it difficult to maintain control of the vehicle. You handle this well, with just some small variations, some of which can be related to driving style and car setup.
The most important part is that you're committing to a turn-in point without letting the car drift towards the apex and you excelled at that. Well done!

Extra -

You can usually use more brake pressure in heavy braking zones to be able to brake later and save time on braking zones. This can then be tied to your trail braking technique where in some corners you're braking earlier than the reference lap, but end up carrying a bit too much speed into the corner, costing you time on the exit - Example.
Try to brake just a bit harder, especially in cars on which you can rely on ABS and then trail brake further into the corner to slow down for the apex. Really try to focus on that release, run a few laps and check your telemetry to see how much speed you're carrying at the apex. Then adjust the trail brake timing accordingly.
Good luck on track!

Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

----------------------

11/12/2025
Impressive driving. Your consistency, knowledge of the track and overall racing technique is looking strong. Obviously this is reflected in the lap times. Congratulations. All good drivers will take the time to examine their telemetry. When you are drive so well, sometimes it is hard to see exactly the mistakes that are taking place on track. Just the knowledge that sometime wasn't perfect is keeping you grinding out the laps. This is great and instils needed muscle memory however, we'd advise getting dirty in the telemetry a bit more. Find common issues, or weak corners so when you are next on track you can hone in on needed areas. Train smart and train hard! Good luck.

Extra - Here you turn in too early. This means your exit is compromised because you have to delay the throttle to get around the tightening radius. For corners like this where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later and getting on the throttle early by straightening the wheel sooner. Example

----------------------

27/11/2025
Well done, you have successfully completed your setup work. Your dedication, hard work, and hopefully new understanding of setups have allowed you to pass this milestone. Your grasp of testing different setups in sim racing demonstrates your commitment to improving your skills. Congratulations on your achievement and good luck for your next Combination Assessment.

Extra - One area to target is improving your minimum speed in corners, which relies heavily on braking later and staying committed to the throttle through the turn. This will tighten the gap in your corner exit performance. For instance, experimenting with a slightly later braking zone can unlock more consistent speed retention. Example

----------------------

31/07/2025
This is an irregular assessment but it does help to set a foundation of driving and analysing, please follow the criteria outlines below to advance to your next training plan.
Pass Criteria:
1. A minimum of 5 sessions on the same track
2. Each session a minimum of 5 laps
3. Analysis of at least 50 segments

Extra - You often accelerate too late and that cost you a lot of time. You aren't as fast to 100% with your throttle which is affecting your top speed on the subsequent straight. Practice a fast but smooth acceleration all the way to 100% throttle using as much of the track exit as available so that you can have as straight a wheel as possible. This will allow the car to use most of it's power for forward acceleration. Example

----------------------

17/07/2025
Your consistency of reaching 100% throttle as quickly as the reference lap was very good. You have mastered a technique here that many drivers find hard. Keep working through the items on the Previous Plans list that you struggle with most and you'll be knocking even more time off your laps.

Extra - Use the width of the track. Every opportunity to test the limits of the track should be used. There is room both on entry and exit to the corner to go wider. Example

----------------------

03/07/2025
A nice improvement here. You show a smoother movement on the majority of segments. Just be aware that it is very easy to slip on this area. That smoothness of steering (as well as braking and throttle) will help you maintain a balance / weighted car. This combined with ensuring your use the full width of the track might help shave another few tenths off your time.

Extra - Let's address your throttle timing. If you're hitting that gas pedal too late, you're missing out on optimal acceleration and forcing yourself to play catch-up. Aim to apply throttle promptly after braking to maintain a smooth and consistent pace. Don't leave it too late; find that balance for a smoother ride. Example

----------------------

20/06/2025
Controlling the steering can be a subtle skill. Just a small adjustment to the wheel angle can make a difference to your acceleration and the speed of the car. It is important to jump into the telemetry to see exactly at which points you are increasing the steering angle too much. Adjust your racing line slightly to smooth this wheel movement.

Good luck and you'll hopefully see improvements on this with plenty of practice.

Extra - This is a loooong trail brake, nothing wrong with that in itself however as you can see from the speed chart you are quite a bit slower than the reference lap. This will also due / a result of your gear choice. This seemingly simple chicane is very important as you need to maintain your speed as much as possible before hitting the oval again - example

----------------------

06/06/2025
Decent use of trail braking, by releasing the brake slowly to help rotate the car around sharper hairpins and get back on the throttle smoothly. This will help shave tenths off your time as you are setting yourself up well for the corner exit. Try also to be a little flexible about the power of your braking, remember of faster corners you can avoid braking all the way to 100%. I would like to see you be a bit smoother with this technique as you are still a bit inconsistent.

Extra - Here you turn in too late. This means your entry is compromised because you have to use a tighter radius. For corners where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later like this but not here where there is a corner following. Example

----------------------

24/05/2025
Really sorry for the delay on the update.
Your performance on the throttle and chicanes was very good, even though your lap times could have been more consistent. Even though this is a pass on the combination assessment, you still need to work more on your racing line, mainly on the corner exits. We'll elaborate further on the section below.
Congratulations on another passed combination assessment and keep up the good work!

Extra - There are quite a few segments where you're losing time by not using enough track, mainly on the corner exits, but sometimes also on entry. First taking a look at a simpler example, after the last corner in this segment, you have a longer straight, so you should aim at maximizing your top speed there. The best way to do that is to use as much track as you can on the corner exit so you can get the best acceleration and speed possible there.
Now a slightly more complicated example. You exited segment 8 towards the middle of the track, due to that, on segment 9, your car will be pointing towards the corner after that right hand bend. If you take a look at the reference lap, you can see the driver exited wider on segment 8 and managed to have the car pointed towards a straight braking zone which optimizes braking performance and gave them a wider entry into the left hander.
We can keep going here, your earlier turn-in into the last corner in segment 9 gave you a wider exit and prompted you to brake for segment 10. Yes, you had higher apex speed and exit speed there, but it wasn't enough to compensate for the time lost by braking hard when you didn't need to.
These are all good examples of how drivers need to think about what's coming up ahead of them and how each racing line choice will affect the following corners. With time and experience you'll learn to recognize patterns that'll give you a better idea on how to approach a track.
Good luck on track!

----------------------

08/05/2025
This is a pass and a great one. Sometimes you really hit the throttle perfectly, otherwise a small hesitation (but no lift) as you exit the final part of the corner. As always, it is about the consistency of this. It is common for throttle work to be a more evolved process. Trickier to master and stay focused. When you achieve a good acceleration point then you'll be half way to achieving the desired smooth acceleration with no lifting off and also avoid that still hesitation.

Extra - Keep an eye on your gears, on the final corner at Laguna it is usually unnecessary to drop into first. Look for this small clues in the telemetry to adjust and improve next time on track - example

----------------------

24/04/2025
Nicely done, you show that consistency is there. Work on this more with more longer sessions of 20+ laps as ones concentration sometimes affects ones consistency in these longer sessions. This skill is important as you work towards your second Combination Assessment.

Extra - One key area to focus on is maintaining higher minimum speeds, which largely comes down to braking later and staying on the throttle longer through corners. This approach will help you reduce the gap in your corner exit performance. For example, a slight delay in braking can make a noticeable difference in carrying momentum through turns. Example

----------------------

10/04/2025
Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link:
https://intercom.help/track-titan/en/articles/7964105-how-do-i-update-my-track-titan-logger

Extra - You're sacrificing potential speed in the middle of turns by not cutting the apex as sharply as possible. Maximise the track's width on entry, at the apex, and on exit when the car is under control and stable. Example

----------------------

28/03/2025
Your racing lines aren't taking full advantage of the track. Stay wide on the entry, don't drift towards the apex, wait for your turn in point then eyeball the apex and hug the apex kerb and then determine a good exit acceleration point to take advantage of the whole width on the track on exit. You normally manage to get two out of three parts correct. i.e. entry and apex or entry and exit but miss the apex. It is when you manage to hit all three is where you increase the radius of the corner and give the car the chance to carry faster speeds.

Your theoretical lines are good but there is still room to adapt to the track more, plan and review where changes can be made to get a quicker exit out of the corner. By remaining wider on the first part of the corner you can achieve a straight line through the rest of the corner - example

Extra - Ensure you are getting on the throttle nice and quickly. You need to be continually testing the limits of the car (which can mean the traction of the tires). If it takes you can extra few metres to get to full speed then this is lost lap time - example

----------------------

27/02/2025
Good control through the chicanes. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good and your mid chicane acceleration is great. Also try to be quicker getting on the throttle on the exits (not just in chicanes). Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds.
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link:
https://intercom.help/track-titan/en/articles/7964105-how-do-i-update-my-track-titan-logger

Extra - You tend to brake too early and gently. In this example you sort of build to full strength progressively. Try your best to brake more firmly to begin with and trail off deeper into the corner. You should be able to pick later reference points once you master this. Example

----------------------

06/02/2025
Braking points are generally very good however there are some things to work on a little more. The mid chicane throttle work is lacking.  Have confidence to put your foot down mid chicane to squeeze in a little acceleration. It might feel insignificant but there is lots of time to be found here. Plan for your exit as well you are sometimes on and off the throttle with is stopping you getting to 100% throttle quickly.
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link:
https://intercom.help/track-titan/en/articles/7964105-how-do-i-update-my-track-titan-logger

Extra - Your throttle application is delaying your acceleration phase, impacting your straight-line speed. Maximise throttle input earlier to optimise top speed for the next straight. Focus on swift and seamless throttle control, utilising track space efficiently to maintain straight alignment for maximal power transfer and acceleration efficiency. Example

----------------------

23/01/2025
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited, and the majority of the racing skills learned have been displayed across multiple segments. There are some areas where improvements are needed, which will lower your lap times. Firstly, work on refining your cornering techniques. Mastering this will significantly benefit your overall performance. Secondly, there are several instances where your gear choice could be improved. Learning truly comes from driving, analysing, and then driving again until you feel you've reached a plateau, then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible

Extra - Looks like you are slow on the straights. Improving straight-line speed starts with optimising your vehicle's setup: ensure your aero downforce is not too much, look as suspension alignment, and consider gear ratios that favour acceleration and peaks at the top of top gear. Remember, smooth inputs and maintaining momentum are key to shaving off those crucial tenths of a second. Example

----------------------

09/01/2025
Good corner gear choices. Sometimes you are one gear higher than the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive whether you have the control dropping one gear lower. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times.‍So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra - Biggest issue at the moment is that you are often dropping off the throttle instead of pushing through to 100% throttle, try adjusting your racing line slightly, a little tighter to the apex will really help. Example

----------------------

27/12/2024
Very nice! You've mastered this skill. Your control was flawless throughout, with no unnecessary braking. Every corner was handled with precision. Reviewing your reference lap confirms your performance was spot on. Next up is your first acceleration technique—you're ready to nail it! Keep up the fantastic work and continue pushing those laps! 💪

Extra - Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example

----------------------

13/12/2024
Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.

Extra - You've made good progress, but it's important to address your tendency to brake early. While being cautious is understandable, braking too early can lead to a loss of momentum, affecting your overall lap time. To optimise your performance, try to identify braking points that allow you to carry more speed into the corners. Gradually delay your braking to find the sweet spot where you're slowing down just enough without sacrificing speed. With practice, you'll find the right balance and see noticeable improvements in your lap times. Keep refining your technique—you've got this! Example

----------------------

28/11/2024
You're doing really well, although there were a couple of instances where you just missed the mark. No worries though, it happens to the best of us! Something to keep in mind is that sometimes there are segments of the track where you don't need to brake at all. In those instances, simply lifting off the throttle can be enough to help you retain your speed and maintain control. Enjoy your apex work and don't be afraid to test the entry-apex-exit kerbs!

Extra - The biggest thing you could work on is carrying minimum speed, mostly through braking later and not lifting off as much through corners. This is giving you a big delta in corner exits. Example

----------------------

15/11/2024
There are some bad corners and some good corners. It is important to braking hard to be able to stretch your braking points. Brake hard and brake deep. Remember to refer back to the reference lap to see how you are doing. Small adjustments are needed all the time. We are only a little way off so we will move on. Each of these plans works on top of the previous one. So don't forget your braking points as we look closer at the apex of each corner. Also, it is important that you don't rest on the brake pedal before you commit to the corner.

Extra - Biggest issue at the moment is that you are often dropping off the throttle instead of pushing through to 100% throttle, try adjusting your racing line slightly, a little tighter to the apex will really help. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
