Previous Instructor Notes

01/08/2026
There are some good times, however also too errors. I appreciate that this is inevitable when training but it is worth really focusing on this technique as nailing lap after lap without invalid laps is critical in a race situation. It can be the difference between a drive through or not. Slow you driving down a little and really concentrate on the consistency with clean laps without errors. A racing drivers main skill has to be able to achieve similar lap times lap after lap. Drop your speed 10% and achieve these valid laps to move on with your training.

Extra -

You are too slow getting back on throttle when exiting the corner, costing you a lot of time as your exit speed is affected as a result of the slower acceleration. Try and get back onto the throttle quicker at the apex to allow yourself a quicker acceleration and a higher exit speed, gaining you more time overall. - Example

----------------------

16/07/2026
Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.

Extra -

You are too slow getting back on the throttle on exits, because you are accelerating on corner entry, costing you a significant amount of time as your exit speed was lower than optimal as you had to get back off the throttle to avoid running wide, which also affects your run into the next corner. Try be patient with the throttle until you are mid-way through it and about to exit, and then get back on the throttle so you can carry a higher exit speed, gaining you more time overall as a result, and giving you a better approach into the following corner. - Example

----------------------

04/07/2026
Good control through the chicanes. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good and your mid chicane acceleration is great. Also try to be quicker getting on the throttle on the exits (not just in chicanes). Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds.

Extra -

You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure so you can roll more speed into the corner, gaining you more time overall just by maintaining a higher minimum speed through the corner. - Example

----------------------

19/06/2026
Please drive a track like Zolder so we can analyse your driving in a multitude of different corner/chicane types. Great driving otherwise. Once we tick this box we will be onto the next one in no time.

Extra -

You are too slow coming back on throttle on the exit, costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try get back on throttle earlier so you can carry a higher minimum speed through the corner, gaining you more time overall. - Example

----------------------

06/06/2026
When it comes to the chicanes in particular there are some key areas we can look to improve. In particular you typically enter the corner quite a bit slower than you could do. When looking at the reference lap it is often because you are not committing and cutting the apexes as much as you could be, especially on the way in. Of course this is a fine balance but it looks like there is more on the table. The straighter the line you can get away with will allow you to carry the most speed through the back to back corners.

Extra -

You are braking considerably earlier, causing you to release some brake pressure and apply it again several times mid-braking zone, in order to carry some speed into the corner, which ends up costing you time rather than gaining you time. This compromises your approach for the chicane as a result. Try adjusting to a later braking point so you can carry more speed under braking, which will help you avoid releasing the brakes and applying it again mid braking zone, as you will already be carrying more speed than what you are currently doing, which will gain you more time overall. - Example

26/03/2026 - 09/04/2026 - 25/05/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Sorry for the delay once more.
Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra -

You're currently missing a lot of apexes, mainly because you're turning quite late into the corners (example). Doing that, even when you're slower than the reference lap will just cause you to miss the apex.
Run some more laps on the track, lower your pace a little and focus on being smooth on the brakes, trail braking into the corners and using smooth steering inputs. Memorize the turn-in points that work for you and make small adjustments as you turn up your pace.
This really comes down to practising a lot, but you need to practise the right things to avoid learning something wrong or encouraging bad habits.
Good luck and have fun on track!

Sorry for the delay on the update.
This is a good pass, well done! Your gear choices and apexes are looking good, but your braking can still be improved. Mostly, you're braking quite early and sometimes just lifting off the throttle when it's faster to use the brakes. Go over your telemetry to see in which segments you can improve your braking points.
Good luck on your next assignment!

Extra -

Interesting racing line choice through this corner. You chose a line that's more appropriate for formula cars with plenty of downforce. For GT3 cars, it's faster to use a tighter line almost like a double apex corner. GT cars rely more on mechanical grip from the tyres, so you'll lose more time slowing down and going around that large radius than to brake later and let the car go wide in the middle of the corner. Make sure you get the car pointing almost straight towards the exit, that way you'll have more grip to accelerate quickly.

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.  Good luck and have fun on track

Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra -

The line is a touch too conservative through the middle of the corner, costing exit momentum. Get comfortable pushing to the edges of the track on turn-in, clipping the apex closer, and tracking out fully when the car is stable. Example

----------------------

01/01/2026
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.

Extra -

Here you turn in too late. This means your entry is compromised because you have to use a tighter radius. For corners where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later like this but not here where there is a corner following. Example

----------------------

18/12/2025
Let's give this assignment another go. There are a couple things to note. Remember to check back with the reference lap to see where you are losing time and good luck!

Extra -

First of all, you are lifting off the accelerator too early. This can be used to save fuel by lifting early and braking later, however I don't think this is what you were doing here. Try to lift later to find time. Secondly, you aren't using enough brake pressure right now which means you have to brake earlier. If you use more brake pressure you can brake later. When braking you want to press the brake quickly, then hold at peak pressure (pressure changes depending on the corner), then release quickly. - example

----------------------

04/12/2025
Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apex's. Great job using the whole width of the track. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can slowly tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are nailing the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up!

Extra - You're braking early in quite a few segments and then compensating with the throttle still at the corner entry (example). This shows that you're able to recognize how much speed you can carry through a corner, you really only need to brake later and use the brakes' full potential. Remember that the GT3 cars in ACC have ABS, so you can (and should) use 100% brake pressure quite often.
Good luck!

----------------------

20/11/2025
Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - Brake harder and faster even on the fast corners, try a quick dab instead of your currently longer ease on and off, test these two styles. Example

----------------------

13/11/2025
Please drive longer sessions. Aim for at least 10 laps per session to get a proper review, otherwise we cannot see your best efforts.

Extra - Here you turn in too early. This means your exit is compromised because you have to delay the throttle to get around the tightening radius. For corners like this where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later and getting on the throttle early by straightening the wheel sooner. Example

----------------------

31/10/2025
There are still a lot of issues with your braking.  You will have to be more aggressive and more fearless in your braking in order to progress. To start with work on a quick, strong hard brake to 100% pressure on each and every corner. Once you have mastered this, the feeling will become more natural. Only then will it be time to look at adding a little more finesse to your driving. Practice your braking as a priority.

Extra - Here are a couple of example where your braking is failing you. Look to try and make a line that is more similar to the reference lap. The blue line is a depiction of a fast, aggressive braking input that is slowing the car down quickly. Two example of your current area to work on, gentle braking in this example as well as this one

----------------------

17/10/2025
There were some good segments but unfortunately too many missed braking points. Practice trying to be consistent. This is best done by driving a little slower than your maximum. Remember your braking points and try to repeat for 3 laps in a row, always trying to be within a second and a half of the lap before. Only when you achieve this try going a little faster. Repeat his process for many laps but don't forget to put back to the analysis to make sure you aren't making any big mistakes.

Brake hard and fast, never rest your foot on the brake before committing to the braking point.

Good luck and I'm sure with enough laps and the advice above you'll be passing this driving skill.

Extra - Braking can feel tricky to begin with. It is important to be controlled but aggressive. Finding the threshold to your braking , i.e. the point where you can brake hard but still retain control of the car and avoid losing traction is very important. Try this on a straight drive really fast and slam on the brakes (with the left foot!) and doing this to find what power, position you need make to control your car. Then that this same idealogy and apply it to your braking points before entering the corner. Hard, fast, straight braking to start with until you can do this motion consistently. Reread the assignment details and enjoy - example

----------------------

06/10/2025
Cheers for the laps. In general you are braking too early in most corners. However, despite this there are times where you still go wide in the corner by being too fast at the apex. This is because you do not always use the full potential of the brakes early on to slow the car when it has the most weight load at the front wheels. Try some more laps and compare yourself to the reference. The braking is the key as all other aspects will branch off this if you get into the right place on corner entry and everything else will improve with it. Remember to be decisive with the braking point and brake more aggressively.

Extra - Another important thing to note is that you can often use more track both on the approach and corner exit. The goal is to make the corner as wide as possible to be able to carry more speed through it. To do that, you need to stay right on the edge of the track on the approach to the corner, stay wide until you reach a good turn-in point, then aim for the apex. On the exit the goal is usually the same: start accelerating near the apex and aim to go as wide as you can without going over the track limits. Don't be afraid to try to get on the kerbs, you can gain a lot of time by using them!
Looking at this example, we noticed it is from a race session and this could have only been an overtaking maneuver. Unfortunately we don't have any info on that from the telemetry, so we can't be sure. That's why we like to give priority to practice and time trial sessions.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
