Previous Instructor Notes

We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Extra -

You are braking and accelerating at the same time, causing you to wash wide as you are asking the car to stop and go at the same time, inducing understeer as you are too fast into the corner due to the reduced braking ability. Try and make sure you are only using one pedal at a time to avoid errors like this, and letting you make the most of each pedal. - Example

----------------------

16/07/2026
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra -

You are resting your foot on the brake pedal, costing you free time on the straight unnecessarily. Try and make sure you are not resting your foot on the pedal so you can make the most of the accelerator and achieve the highest top speed before the braking zone, and prevent you from losing free time. - Example

----------------------

Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apex's. Great job using the whole width of the track. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can slowly tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are nailing the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up!

Extra -

You're rolling onto the throttle prematurely, leading to front-end push and requiring you to ease off. Delay the initial application slightly, then be bolder and smoother as you squeeze on the power. Example

You're doing really well, although there were a couple of instances where you just missed the mark. No worries though, it happens to the best of us! Something to keep in mind is that sometimes there are segments of the track where you don't need to brake at all. In those instances, simply lifting off the throttle can be enough to help you retain your speed and maintain control. Enjoy your apex work and don't be afraid to test the entry-apex-exit kerbs!

Extra - In the final corner at Summit Point Raceway, you are braking too late and too lightly, causing you to carry too much speed and overshoot the corner, costing you time on the exit as your exit speed is significantly lower than optimal. Try adjusting to an earlier braking point and with a bit more brake pressure, to slow the car down more efficiently to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to maintain a higher minimum speed overall and gain more time. - Example

There were some good segments but unfortunately too many missed braking points. Practice trying to be consistent. This is best done by driving a little slower than your maximum. Remember your braking points and try to repeat for 3 laps in a row, always trying to be within a second and a half of the lap before. Only when you achieve this try going a little faster. Repeat his process for many laps but don't forget to put back to the analysis to make sure you aren't making any big mistakes.

Brake hard and fast, never rest your foot on the brake before committing to the braking point.

Good luck and I'm sure with enough laps and the advice above you'll be passing this driving skill

Extra - Aim for consistent braking points. It is important to establish your braking point for the majority of corners to achieve 100% braking, rather than varying your pressure on the brake pedal. The same principle applies to throttle control; aim to quickly reach 100% throttle and maintain it by choosing an optimal racing line - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
