Charles Leclerc vs Lewis Hamilton - Race Engineer Analysis

We decided to put real-life f1 data into Track Titan to analyse exactly how drivers differ from each other.

So there’s a lot of discussing about how Hamilton and Leclerc will fare against each other at Ferrari. And because we put real life f1 data into Track Titan, we thought we’d take a look at comparing their telemetry.

So because Singapore is the closest Ferrari and Mercedes looked all year last season, that is what we’re analysing.

This example is Q3 from the sharp turn 13.

We can see that Lewis is actually marginally later on the brakes, and more gentle coming off them. Getting back on the throttle, Charles has the initial advantage but his acceleration is more gradual as Lewis can accelerate quicker due to being further away from the apex. Regardless though, the later braking initially helps lewis but he loses time on corner exit to Charles resulting in 79 thousands of a second slower for Hamilton.

From what we can see, Charles is slightly more sharp with his inputs whereas Lewis is smooth. So, this should be interesting come next year!
