Instructor Notes

20/08/2026
Overall performance in this assessment did not meet the required standard to progress to the next training plan. There were inconsistencies across the lap that affected your overall pace and control. While some sections showed potential, the combination of skills needs further refinement to reach the necessary consistency. Keep practicing with focused sessions, review your telemetry for patterns, and build toward greater reliability lap after lap. With continued effort, you'll be ready to advance soon.

Bonus Focus Point

You are accelerating into the corner while braking, reducing your braking ability and causing you to overshoot the corner as a result of carrying too much speed, compromising your exit significantly and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try and make sure you are only using one pedal at a time and not resting on the throttle when braking, so you can make the most out of the brakes and avoid running too wide as a result of accelerating into the corner. - Example

Some more work is needed here before we move on. Have a look at the advice below and let's give this assignment another go.

Extra -

Currently, you are taking too long to apply the brakes which means you need to brake earlier. Work on applying the brakes faster with a little more peak pressure to get the car slowed. This will allow you to brake a little later while still making the corner. - example

----------------------

Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!

Extra -

You are too slow getting back on full throttle on corner exits, costing you a considerable amount of time as your exit speed is significantly lower than optimal due to the slower acceleration. Try and get back onto full throttle quicker so you can carry a higher exit speed out of the corner, gaining you more time overall as a result. - Example

‍

----------------------

09/07/2026
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! πŸ’ͺ

Extra -

You are braking too early, causing your speed to drop significantly earlier than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking at a later point so you can gain more time overall just by carrying a higher top speed before braking. - Example

‍

----------------------

25/06/2026
Very nice. Tight to the kerb on the majority of the segments (where needed). Keep up the laps, amazing work and looking forward to see how you perform on the next assigned task.

Extra -

You are too slow coming back on throttle when exiting the corner, costing you a lot of time as a result of your exit speed is significantly lower than optimal as you leave the corner. Try get on the throttle quicker so you can accelerate out of the corner faster, letting you carry a higher exit speed and gain more time overall. - Example

‍

----------------------

11/06/2026
Generally, your braking points are looking quite good, however your braking technique is sometimes inconsistent. We noticed a few times where you're releasing and reapplying the brakes in the braking zone, instead of braking in a single smooth motion.
Another aspect that can be improved to make your braking points more accurate is the transition between full throttle and full brakes. There are a few heavy braking zones where you're slowly releasing the throttle and also applying the brakes too slow. Your initial braking input needs to be quite sharp here to maximise the braking performance when the car has more grip available.
We'll keep working on this in the future, but you've pass this assignment, well done! And now we'll move on to your first racing line assignment.
‍

Extra -

You're missing a few apexes often due to a mix of the way you're braking and your racing line on the approach to a corner (example). We already talked about your braking above, so let's address your racing line. The goal is to make the corner as wide as possible to be able to carry more speed through it. To do that, you need to stay right on the edge of the track on the approach to the corner, stay wide until you reach a good turn-in point, then aim for the apex. On the exit the goal is usually the same: start accelerating near the apex and aim to go as wide as you can without going over the track limits. Don't be afraid to try to get on the kerbs, you can gain a lot of time by using them!
This works well as a general rule, the exception being corner complexes where you often need to adjust your line to make the last corner wider and faster.

Currently, your braking points are too inconsistent. Sometimes spot on, sometimes too early, sometimes too late. When practicing, make sure to compare to the reference lap to see what adjustments you can make to find time. In general, you were too slow to apply the brakes as well, which meant you were running wide on corner exit. Give this assignment another go and see how you get on.

Extra -

Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 20-30 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track πŸ’ͺ

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
