Instructor Notes

29/07/2026 - 26/08/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Previous Instructor Notes

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Well done, a good assignment! You're very quick on the brakes, that's great, and are also able to extract a lot of braking performance from the car. However, there are multiple corners where you're braking too hard and sometimes a bit too late, costing you a lot of speed, sometimes still before the apex. You then end up compensating with the throttle, but the time is already lost.
Remember to review your telemetry and try to modulate your max brake pressure a bit better in those situations.

Extra - Together with controlling how much brake pressure you can use, your trail braking can also improve a bit. You're currently making an effort of releasing the brakes smoothly, but you need to continue this gradual movement further into the corner for it to be more effective, especially if you're coming down from a very high max brake pressure - Example.
Start releasing the brakes as you turn into the corner, then continue this gradual motion as you increase the steering angle, all the way to the apex.
Keep up the good work and good luck!

Your braking is too inconsistent. Sometimes you are showing good technique and other times your braking strength is not where it needs to be for that particular corner. This leads to other mistakes in your driving. Try to improve your consistency for the next assessment so we can move past this stage.

Extra - Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example

Good job. You are hitting most of you apexes however there are still a few times where you are wide at the apex or not maximising the kerb usage. Best of luck with the next assingment.

Extra - Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 20-30 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

----------------------

A bit more work is needed here. There were some good segments and some bad segments. Hitting your apexes is important not just for finding lap times, but also to reduce tyre wear, fuel usage and to defend. Let's give this another go before we move on. Good luck!

Extra - You aren't using enough brake pressure right now which means you have to brake earlier. If you use more brake pressure you can brake later. When braking you want to press the brake quickly, then hold at peak pressure (pressure changes depending on the corner), then release quickly. Don't forget to compare with the reference lap to see what your doing differently. - example

Amazing job with this assignment, really good job. You've got some great reference points and your brake pressure is spot on. Not much to comment on here. Keep up the good work 💪

Extra - It's great to see you trying lots of cars and tracks! For coaching and feedback, it would be best if you can focus on 1 or 2 tracks and cars. This allows us to give you better feedback. If possible, please, drive more laps in your sessions as well.

Through highspeed corners you are often lifting/braking too much and taking off too much speed. If we can take some more speed into those fast turns, we can definitely find 0.3-0.5s over the lap. - example

Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
