We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).
The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. π

Nicely driven! You improved in these 4 key areas over the last few weeks. There will always to improvements and adjustments that you can make. It is all about fine tuning those braking points, racing line and throttle application. Your gears look decent but always check back to the telemetry. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible. Lots of your sessions are 1 lap. This is not enough to get a good read on your fast lap pace.
Extra - You're sacrificing potential speed in the middle of turns by not cutting the apex as sharply as possible. Maximise the track's width on entry, at the apex, and on exit when the car is under control and stable. Example

There is some good segments and some bad. The main issue is the braking point and the power of braking. These need looking at again as you struggled to find your braking points. Interestingly your gear choice was very good which was your weakest assessment over the previous sessions. Bringing all these skills together at the same time takes time and effort. Concentrate on one or two tracks and you should have this in the bag. Remember try a few quick sessions to ensure there are no glaring errors when you review your telemetry.
Extra - Careful not to turn the steering wheel so aggressively, it is much better to slow to the correct speed and then use as minimal steering angle as possible. Excessive steering will scrub the tyres and slow you down as well. Here you have a big snap. Example

It is a hard task to bring all these skills together at the same time. Keep up the work, it is worth persevering. By concentrating on the important of the braking point and power will make it possible to turn your attention more to the throttle. It is at this point that you'll see the biggest improvements in your times. The braking points and apex work suffered in this combination assessment. Concentrate on these two areas to move onto the next training plan.

Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straightforward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....
Extra - We noticed you might be running an older version of the Track Titan logger. Please follow this link if you need help running the update https://intercom.help/track-titan/en/articles/7964105-how-do-i-update-my-track-titan-logger otherwise if you are on the latest version please contact keith@tracktitan.io and he'll get this working for you.

Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! πͺ
Extra - Your throttle application could do with some work. You are sometimes lifting off the throttle when you don't need to be which is causing you to lose a lot of speed compared to the reference lap. Here's an example of this.

Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Your braking is too inconsistent. Sometimes you are showing good technique and other times your braking strength is not where it needs to be for that particular corner. This leads to other mistakes in your driving. Try to improve your consistency for the next assessment so we can move past this stage.

Unfortunately, we can't assess any of your laps, as they were either on unsupported tracks, or on tracks that don't have a reference to compare with. Please drive some more laps on supported tracks so we can assess your braking.

Good racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apexes. Great job using the whole width of the track. Practice trying to take a slightly later apex and see how this affects your deltas. Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle.
Your throttle engagement should generally be within two car lengths of your apex.
Extra - Similar weakness as last week, work on your exit width, it'll allow you to keep a straighter wheel and maintain a higher corner speed - example
18/10/2023
There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb, sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and your get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements.
Try to get a few more laps in a minimum of 20 really is needed to start to see improvements.
Extra - Use as much width on track, it is the exit width that you are failing to utilise - example

Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily.
Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! πͺ
Extra - Look out that you aren't holding too much throttle at the same time as brake, a little crossover is good but this is too much - example

βGreat to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, on this day you'll be able to see your feedback from the instructors (it could be the next day aswell), your score for the assigned task and your progress.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
β
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
