28/10/2023 - 26/08/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Please drive more laps.  It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 20-30 laps being completed.  The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Extra -When you get on the throttle do so quickly. This might mean delaying when you initially engage the throttle but get to that 100% with power and conviction - example

There were quite a few errors that need addressing. Firstly look closely at your gear choices, has there were many times that you drop into too low a gear. This will be impacting your lap times significantly. Braking points were generally good, a few mistakes but your need to keep an eye on how quickly you break. This was sometimes too slow. Enjoy the high downforce car and trust its stopping power. Work through the previous plans again and refer to the telemetry. Without this your progress will be very slow.

Extra - Here is a good example of the types of errors that you are currently making - example

No change unfortunately with your gear choice. We'll move onto your next assignment which will be tricky as it is a combination of all four of your lessons so far. It is important to master these plans individually but to really improve with your driving you need to display that you are capable of successfully doing all these in the same session. Practince your gear choices this is really important for your lap times.

Extra - More laps are needed to improve as errors are slipping back in. Your racing line was often off, like in the example

There is more work is needed here. Too often you are dropping into a gear too low for the corner, there is time left on the table when you are doing this. Try to remember the gearing choices of the reference lap and test where you are able to control the car better in this gear and you'll notice your segment deltas should be improving as well. Good luck with your training, and remember to use the telemetry!

Extra - Remember your earlier lesson - brake early and brake hard. This is especially true for slow corners - example

We'll give this one more week for you to try and improve with your gear choice. It is so important to get this right, it is worth spending the time here. Re-read the training plan. Write down the gears that the reference lap uses and I'm sure you'll master this. Good luck and train smart!

Extra - Watch out for excessive steering angles they are problematic as it causes the car forward trajectory to be in conflict with the need to grip the track as you turn. Smooth, minimal steering is the answer and worth concentrating on - example

Extra - At the moment it should be all about the gear choice. Follow the telemetry and see the minimum gear choice of the reference lap and do the same. In this segment you drop into second whilst the reference lap remains in third as their lowest gear - example

We are ready to assess your accelerating assessment. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins.Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - Try not to shift down too far in some corners. You will maintain your speed in a higher gear and it will help with traction on the exit, especially in F1 22. -example

05/05/2023
Similar to last week again, there needs to be a little more speed and urgency in your braking. Sometimes you nail it but on too many occasions there is too much hesitancy. Try to press the brake pedal quicker whilst doing your best to maintain traction, also notice that it is often towards the end of the braking phase that you are easing off before you reach your maximum braking pressure. Try to brake earlier in some cases, this will help you with gaining a better exit as you don't travel as deep into the corner.

Extra - Try to use the maximum width of the track, this means you will need less of a turn in angle to make the apex and you will be able to carry more speed through the corner. -example

Try to press the brake pedal quicker whilst doing your best to maintain traction, also notice that it is often towards the end of the braking phase that you are easing off before you reach your maximum braking pressure. Also, try to avoid resting on the brake pedal before fully committing to the braking phase. Practice is needed but it is a skill that is relatively easy to view and adapt to.

Extra - Avoid going too deep into chicanes on the first corner. This means you'll have real troubles setting yourself up for the exit out of the second half of the chicane. Braking earlier, maintain a tighter racing line and then you will be able to accelerate quicker on exit - example

---------------------
21/04/2023
Good racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apex's. Great job using the whole width of the track. Practice trying to take a slightly later apex and see how this affects your deltas. Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle. Your throttle engagement should generally be within two car lengths of your apex.

Extra - Avoid lifting on sections where driving at full throttle is possible. These are great areas to find lost time on the track. Adjust your line if necessary to avoid excessive turning - example

---------------------

14/04/2023
There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb (not very close), sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and your get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements. Tried to get a few more laps in a minimum of 20 really is needed to start to see improvements.

Extra - Avoid this on off motion of the brake. A firm brake all the way to 100% pressure (on slow corners) is a great starting point for lowering your lap times - example

---------------------

07/04/2023
Well done, great that you stuck with it. Nice braking points, only occasionally did you slightly miss the mark. Also, keep a close eye on segments where no braking at all is required. Often just lifting off the throttle is enough and a much better way to retain your speed. Occasionally you touch your foot on the brake before you are fully committed to the braking point.

Enjoy your apex work and don't be afraid to test the entry-apex-exit kerbs!

Extra - When in a chicane and you need to lift mid chicane. Try to not lift completely, instead try to lift 50% instead and see if that works. There is plenty of time to be found with seemingly small changes like this - example

Extra - Try to be more aggressive with your throttle, the top speeds only come when you are hitting 100% throttle as often as possible. Sometimes it'll feel too hard to get to 100% but compare against the reference lap and you'll see that there is a way. Quick feet and nerves of steel! - example

---------------------

24/03/2023
Some corners are ok but there are currently too many where you are braking mainly too late. Refer back to the reference lap and try to adjust your braking point accordingly. Try to avoid resting on the brake before committing to your braking point. Finally there are a number of occasions that you are dabbing on the brake when it is possible to take a segment at full pace. Look for these in analysis and you'll soon be braking at the right points more consistently.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Each week you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls each week and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, each week you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, on this day you'll be able to see your feedback from the instructors, your score for the assigned task and your progress.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next seven days. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed throughout the week. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know.

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
