Instructor Notes

20/04/2026 - 26/08/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!

Extra -

In the penultimate corner at Sebring, you applied too much brake pressure, which reduced your speed significantly more than optimal at the apex. Try applying less pressure so you can maintain a higher minimum speed through the corner and gain more time. - Example

You're braking inputs are really good. Well done. Not much to comment on here. We'll move onto the next assignment now. Remember to check back with the reference lap to see where you can improve. Good luck and have fun!

Extra -

Currently, you are trying to find time by getting on the throttle early. This is causing you to run wide on exit. If you delay your throttle application by a few meters, you can then apply the accelerator much faster without running wide and find time. - example

Sorry for the delay on the update.
Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apex's, although you sometimes still have space to be closer to it. Practice trying to take a slightly later apex and see how this affects your deltas. Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle. Your throttle engagement should generally be within two car lengths of your apex.

Extra -

There are a quite a few corners where you're a bit too late and aggressive on the brakes. Not enough to make you miss the apex, but enough to make you lift off on the exit - Example 1 | Example 2.
Often times it's better to be earlier and smoother on the brakes and trail brake well into the corner. You'll avoid losing too much speed at the apex from braking too hard and also running wide from braking late.
Focus on accelerating smoothly out of the corner and adjust your braking points if you're constantly lifting off on the exits. Remember to review your telemetry from time to time.

Finding the fastest way through a corner isn’t always about sticking to the line that feels “just right.” Sometimes, pushing closer to the apex unlocks hidden speed. Imagine starting wide, aiming your entry toward the curb, and adjusting when you clip the apex—earlier or later, depending on the turn’s demands. On the exit, let the car drift naturally across the track, using every inch of space. Over time, these adjustments become automatic, and once they do, you can fine-tune your approach to shave off even more time.

Extra -

You're not maximising mid-corner velocity because the car isn't hugging the apex tightly enough. Always aim to use the full track limits—wide entry, precise apex touch, wide exit—wherever the car is settled and under control. Example

Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! đŸ’Ș

Extra -

You're sometimes going a bit too deep between apexes on chicanes (example). Try to trail brake just a bit deeper into the first apex and, even though you're making good use of the mid-chicane acceleration, try to aim for a straighter line that opens up the last apex. It might cost you a bit of time in the short term, but you'll gain a lot more from having a faster and wider exit.

26/01/2026
Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.  Good luck and have fun on track

Extra -

By running slightly wide of the ideal apex, you're giving up cornering speed. Commit to the classic outside-inside-outside line, using the entire track width on entry, apex, and exit in the stable portions of the corner. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track đŸ’Ș

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
