Welcome Back! - 26/08/2026
17/01/2026 - 20/05/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).
The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁
No assessment.

R1 - Racing Line - Hitting the Apex | 19/12/2025 (79%)

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.
Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Well done, you are hitting almost all of your apexes. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.
Extra - The corners at Paul Ricard are quite tricky to learn, but once you get their flow, it becomes a much better circuit (example). For most corners, you're looking for a late apex with a wide entry and then letting the car gradually cross the track towards the apex with a good and straighter exit in mind.
For the given example, the concept is still the same, but this is a very long corner which means it has two apexes. By apexing early first, you'll be able to brake much later and carry a lot more speed into the corner. Let the car wash out wide at the mid-corner phase and allow it to rotate towards the second apex by using some light braking. Again, aim for a late apex now, but you should be at full throttle way before it. Notice how early the reference driver manages to accelerate with a much shallower angle on the exit.
Go through your telemetry once more and experiment with different racing lines. You can get quite creative on this track sometimes. Good luck!

Sometimes, you'll hit the perfect line through a corner—clean, sharp, with a strong exit. But there's often more speed to be found by hugging the apex even tighter. Start by taking a wide approach at the entry curb, focusing on your apex timing (be it early or late), then accelerate out in a way that utilizes the entire width of the track. As you accumulate more laps, this technique will become second nature. Once you've got consistency down, you can make small tweaks to cut down your lap times even more.
Remember to try to use smooth inputs. If you're learning a new track, you can be a bit more conservative, brake earlier and lighter, be smoother on the throttle and gradually increase your speed as you become more comfortable and gain more knowledge.
Good luck and have fun on track!
Extra - You're often choosing a very wide entry line into the hairpins (example) and while that can be a valid approach, your racing line is simply too wide and you won't be able to compensate with extra speed on the exit.
Try using different approaches and turn-in points, review several hairpins on the telemetry to see how you can adjust your racing line and be faster.
Good luck!

Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

There are moments when you nail the apex perfectly, staying tight with a solid line through the corner and a smooth exit. However, there are still too many instances where you're not fully maximizing this, and there's potential to get even tighter on the apex. Remember to begin wide on the entry kerb, focus on your apex (whether it's early or late), and accelerate so that you're using the full width of the track. With a bit more practice, you'll develop a better feel for each corner. Once you’ve got that, you can start fine-tuning for smaller improvements. Aim to get at least 20 more laps in to see noticeable progress. Good luck!
Extra - You are braking well but there is still room to improve, especially on the slow speed corners where you can brake hard to 100%. Also, it is important to avoid using the brakes on segments where it is possible to take the corner without the use of the brake - generally you are good at this. You are braking a little earlier than the reference lap and getting to 100% braking later. Try to press the brake pedal quicker whilst doing your best to maintain traction. Also, try to avoid resting on the brake pedal before fully committing to the braking phase. Practice is needed but it is a skill that is relatively easy to view and adapt to.
Very important is you refer back to the data to understand where these small improvements can be made. You have great finesse on faster corners and can control your power very well. Here's an example for you to analyse further.

Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
Extra - Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example

There were some good segments but unfortunately too many missed braking points. Practice trying to be consistent. This is best done by driving a little slower than your maximum. Remember your braking points and try to repeat for 3 laps in a row, always trying to be within a second and a half of the lap before. Only when you achieve this try going a little faster. Repeat his process for many laps but don't forget to put back to the analysis to make sure you aren't making any big mistakes.
Brake hard and fast, never rest your foot on the brake before committing to the braking point.
Good luck and I'm sure with enough laps and the advice above you'll be passing this driving skill.
Extra - Try to get on the brake quicker, a faster braking motion will allow you to brake a little later and thus hit your braking points. Avoid the easing into the the braking and work instead of hard, faster braking and then easing out of the braking phase. At this stage it is good to examine your telemetry graphs and see where there are big differences to the faster reference lap. Take onboard the comments about the speed of braking then check back to the telemetry to see how you did - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
