Extra - You are too slow getting back on the throttle on the exit of the corner, costing you a considerable amount of time due to your exit speed being significantly lower than optimal. Try get back onto the throttle quicker so you can accelerate quicker out of the corner, carrying a higher exit speed, and gain more time overall as a result. - Example

Extra - You are braking too late and not steering enough, causing you to overshoot the corner, costing you a significant amount of time as a result of missing the corner. Try braking earlier, and steer more into the corner, to allow the car rotate into the corner and clip the apex. Doing this will allow you to carry a higher minimum speed, gaining you more time overall. - Example

We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Sorry for the delay on the update.
Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear lower than the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive whether you can control the car in a higher gear. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times.
So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra - There are quite a few segments where you can gain time by driving tighter to the apex (example). Test the apex kerbs to see if they're safe, depending on your car's setup. If they are, use them to your advantage. Every inch counts on track and the wider you manage to make a corner, the faster you can be through it!

Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra - You are giving up mid-corner speed by not taking a tight enough apex. Make sure to use every inch of track available on corner entry, apex and exit where the car is stable. Example

Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins.

Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - Similar issue as last time you had an assessment, keep on working on pushing to 100% gas as smoothly and quickly as possible. This example highlights how your line choice was causing you issues and hindering your progress - example

Extra - Biggest issue at the moment is that you are often dropping off the throttle instead of pushing through to 100% throttle, try adjusting your racing line slightly, a little tighter to the apex will really help. Example

----------------------

16/05/2025
There was enough of an improvement to move onto the next plan, however, work on your commitment to the corner, attack the apex instead of playing it safe as you are prone to do. Great job using the whole width of the track. Practice trying to take a slightly later apex and see how this affects your deltas. Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle.

Your throttle engagement should generally be within two car lengths of your apex.

Extra - In this segment is is clear that you need to be more aggressive in your exit out of the corner. In a track like Monza there can be no hesitation. Hesitation will massively affect your top speed on the straights and eat into your lap times. Test and retest where the limits of your car exceed the width of the track. Push for a strong, quick acceleration with no lift. The important part is getting the car to 100% throttle quickly - example

There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb, sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and you'll get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements. Try to get a few more laps in a minimum of 20 really is needed to start to see improvements.

Extra - Your car's speed through the corner suffers because you're not hugging the apex closely. Remember to leverage the full width of the track right from the entry, through the apex, and as you exit, particularly where your car feels stable. Example

----------------------

26/01/2025
Finding the fastest way through a corner isn’t always about sticking to the line that feels “just right.” Sometimes, pushing closer to the apex unlocks hidden speed. Imagine starting wide, aiming your entry toward the curb, and adjusting when you clip the apex—earlier or later, depending on the turn’s demands. On the exit, let the car drift naturally across the track, using every inch of space. Over time, these adjustments become automatic, and once they do, you can fine-tune your approach to shave off even more time.

Extra - You're sacrificing potential speed in the middle of turns by not cutting the apex as sharply as possible. Maximise the track's width on entry, at the apex, and on exit when the car is under control and stable. Example

----------------------

12/01/2025
Sometimes, you nail the perfect line through a corner—clean, precise, and with a strong exit. But often, there’s untapped potential to hug the apex even closer. Begin by approaching wide at the entry curb, locking in on your apex (whether late or early), and then powering out in a way that naturally uses the track’s full width. With more laps under your belt, this process will start to feel instinctive. Once you’re consistent, you can refine further, making minor adjustments to shave off extra time. Aim for at least 20 laps to truly settle into a rhythm and see meaningful progress.

Extra - By not aiming for the sharpest possible apex, you're losing precious speed mid-corner. It's crucial to make use of every bit of track space available at the entry, apex, and exit points where your vehicle maintains stability. Example

----------------------

27/12/2024
Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪 Please try to do more than 5 lap stints next time though!

Extra - You often accelerate too late and that cost you a lot of time. You aren't as fast to 100% with your throttle which is affecting your top speed on the subsequent straight. Practice a fast but smooth acceleration all the way to 100% throttle using as much of the track exit as available so that you can have as straight a wheel as possible. This will allow the car to use most of it's power for forward acceleration. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
