Hi there, we need to keep working on this. You are not smoothly releasing the brake pedal at all. Try to really exagerate the release to prove you can do it and then taper it back. Example
Extra - All i want you to do this week is focus on trailbraking technique. Example
----------------------
31/05/2024
You are close but are not trailbraking as much as I would like to see. Your brake pedal inputs re releasing too quickly as you turn in. This can unsettle the car. Try to extend the time of trailbraking into the apex further to spread the tyre load more evenly through the transition. Try once more.
Extra -
Your braking is very binary - on or off - try to be smoother and do more trailbraking. You also press the pedal multiple times per braking zone. Example
----------------------
17/05/2024
This is a hard skill to develop but it is very useful for understanding the weight distribution of your car. Also, as the plan states it gives a slightly extended time at top speed on the straights. Practice hard and try to feel how the car reacts as you slowly release the brake. Remember, as a guide to gauge finishing releasing the brake as you reach near the apex.
Extra - Here's an example of a corner where trailbraking is quite useful. Notice how the reference lap smoothly releases the brakes, and gets to 0% brake pressure around the same time it hits the apex. This is what you want to be aiming for. Currently, your brake inputs are very binary, almost like an on-off switch.
----------------------

As more skills are added to the combination assessments they naturally become harder. Essentially there are more areas where errors can be seen. You did a good job last week and managed to pass. If you look back at your telemetry you'll be able to spot small improvements that are needed. For example, sometimes just a slight hesitation on the throttle as you accelerate or missing a tight apex.
Extra - In this corner you brake too late and also don't use all of the track on entry. This results in you running wide. Make sure to re-tune your braking points to avoid repeat occurrences and improve consistency. Example
----------------------
19/04/2024
Good job on the laps! This is a pass and quite a good one. Sometimes you really hit the throttle perfectly. As always, it is about the consistency of this. It is common for throttle work to be a more evolved process. Trickier to master and stay focused. When you achieve a good acceleration point then you'll be half way to achieving the desired smooth acceleration with no lifting off.
Extra - Watch your gearing in the slow corners. You typically run a gear or two too low. This might give you more aggressive power delivery an lead to wheelspin. Example

This is always going to be a tricky skill to learn and this week you nailed it fantastic job, textbook! When you got 'in the groove' you were churning out lap after lap. Both at speed and also very consistently. As with all these plans and skills try to remember and build on it for the next assignment.
Extra - Try to stay flat in the first part of the Esses in Segment 3. Example
----------------------
08/03/2024
Your racing lines are starting to look like you are understanding. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are still a few corners where you are entering too tight and exiting too narrow, which costs you minimum speed. It's just about a pass but lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.
Extra - Your braking is sometimes inconsistent and binary. Try to hit the brakes once and smoothly come off the brakes instead of taking multiple stabs at it. Example
----------------------
23/02/2024
Good control through the chicane. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good and your mid chicane acceleration is great. Also try to be quicker getting on the throttle on the exits (not just in chicanes). Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds. Next up, racing line.
Extra - Try to improve your timing of the throttle and braking going downhill at Bathurst. You brake slightly early but end up getting back on throttle mid corner. This can destabilise the car. Example
----------------------
09/02/2024
Please drive a circuit that has a chicane on it so that we can look at your chicane skills and assess your latest plan. Zolder is a great track to try out a number of different styles of chicanes. Spielberg does not really have the corners we are looking to assess.
Extra - Make sure to use all of the track on entry and exit. You could have carried way more speed onto the 2nd straight at Spielberg if you did this - example
----------------------
26/01/2024
A narrow pass but a pass all the same!. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.
Extra - You sometimes are braking too hard as well as lifting on and off the brake. Try to plan for a fast single motion to slow your car to the desired speed for the corner. This basic idea is key to smooth, fast driving and is reflected in your throttle actions at the moment as well - example
----------------------
12/01/2024
Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. Just be aware that it worth experimenting sometimes dropping lower can work, especially if you notice that the reference lap has done so. This is normally the case when you need to sacrifice your speed a little on entry on a complex corner so you can maximise your potential on the exit. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far.
You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!
Extra - Try turning the steering wheel a little less as you are prone to quite excessive wheel motions. A straight car is a fast car - example
----------------------
29/12/2023
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins.
Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
Extra - Start thinking of braking as a required necessary but don't over do it. If you can afford to only lift off the throttle a little then do this, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. The bigger the variance the more the car become unbalanced and you'll find it harder to maintain traction - example

Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apexes. Great job using the whole width of the track. Practice trying to take a slightly later apex and see how this affects your deltas. Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle.
Your throttle engagement should generally be within two car lengths of your apex.
Extra - Your line is good but try to limit how much you come off the gas when you take these esses. Also, avoid dropping too low on your gears - example
----------------------
17/11/2023
Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on most of the time. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily.
Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
Extra - Avoid reapplying the brake mid corner. Apply one action for the most corners, hard on the brakes and then ease off into the corner. This is the perfect starting point from where you can adapt and test the limits of the car - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, on this day you'll be able to see your feedback from the instructors (it could be the next day aswell), your score for the assigned task and your progress.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
