Previous Instructor Notes

06/08/2026
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra -

You are too slow getting back on throttle on corner exits, causing your exit speed to be significantly slower than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time. Try and get back on the throttle quicker so you can carry a higher exit speed out of the corner, gaining you more time overall with a quicker acceleration. - Example

Good corner gear choices. Sometimes you are one gear higher than the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive whether you have the control dropping one gear lower. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra -

You are lifting off the throttle too much before the braking zones, causing your speed to drop significantly earlier than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try and hold onto the throttle until the braking zone, so you can carry more speed approaching the corner, and gaining you more time overall just by holding more speed for longer before braking. - Example

Welcome Back!

16/06/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

A little bit more work is needed here. Too often you are one gear off the reference lap, there is time left on the table when you are doing this. Try to remember the gearing choices of the reference lap and test where you are able to control the car better in this gear and you'll notice your segment deltas should be improving as well.

Extra - You are braking too early, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time. You also end up going into 2nd gear in a 4th gear corner, causing your speed to drop further due to the engine braking. Try adjusting to a later braking point so you can carry more speed under braking, gaining more time overall. This will also help you carry more speed into the corner, forcing you to use a higher gear. Have a look at the reference lap to see what gear choices should be used for which corner. - Example

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

This is a bit of a close pass, but still a pass, well done! You're quite quick on the brakes and that's great, but you're not hitting that 100% brake pressure mark when it's needed. That means you're slowing down at a lower rate and you need to brake earlier.
This is particularly important in heavy braking zones after a straight. You want to take advantage of the amount of downforce the car is generating and the large weight load at the front wheels to really slam the brakes and extract as much braking performance as possible from the car in that moment.
Also, contrary to what was mentioned before, there are a couple of fast corners where you're braking too hard and slowing down too much, so try to find a better balance there. Be mindful of your inputs to keep the car balanced and the grip levels high.
Braking really is crucial and affects every following step of the corner, so it's important you get it right.
We'll pass onto your next assignment, good luck!

Extra - In tight chicanes like this one, to keep your speed high you need to keep your racing almost straight between the two apexes. This is especially important in F1 cars, since they have a lot of downforce, it's the best way to be fast through the segment. Use the kerbs to your advantage and clip those apexes well, but remember that the exit is always very important, especially in the given example that's followed by the start-finish straight.

Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.

Extra - Brake harder and faster even on the fast corners, try a quick dab instead of your currently longer ease on and off, test these two styles. Example

Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - Be careful with braking with too much pressure in high speed corners. In Turn 5 at Bahrain International Circuit, you applied too much pressure on the brakes, reducing your speed significantly more than optimal. In this section, you can take the corner with just a lift off the throttle, as the aerodynamics and engine braking in an f1 car will slow you down enough for the corner already. Try some laps with lifting off the throttle, so you can maintain a higher minimum speed through the corner and gain more time. - Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
