We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).
The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Please drive more laps in a more common car and track combo. It isn't possible to get a true and fair reflection of your assessment if you are the one leading the leaderboard. The instructors are ready for you when you are. Best of luck!
Extra -
You are braking with too much pressure in the chicane, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try and brake with less pressure so you can maintain a higher minimum speed through the chicane and gain more time overall. - Example

Nicely done, you show that consistency is there. Work on this more with more longer sessions of 20+ laps as ones concentration sometimes affects ones consistency in these longer sessions. This skill is important as you work towards your second Combination Assessment.

Great job, you're currently the fastest driver on the Formula Renault 2.0 around Lime Rock Park! These are some great lap times, but your stints were often short, being interrupted by a slower or invalid lap after three or four clean laps (some with remarkably close lap times). While hot lapping is great to test the limits, consistency is the way to win races. Try to slow down your pace just a bit to allow yourself a safety margin. For this assignment, we're looking for at least 10 consecutive clean laps, with lap times within 1 second of each other.
Good luck!

So, comparing to your personal best lap, you're losing the most time on segments 1 and 2. These are both double apex corners and can be tough to get right. There'll always be slight variations on your lap times, so don't beat yourself up. The perfect lap is humanly impossible.
On segment 1, that touch on the throttle after the first apex is what is making you lose time. It might feel faster in the moment, but it's costing you time and speed at the exit. It can also affect the car's balance at that point in the corner, as the weight shifts towards the rear, you might feel some understeer at that point. With some practise, you might get away with braking a bit later and avoid having to use the throttle between apexes. Doing that can allow you to rotate the car better towards the second apex without sacrificing speed, depending on your car's setup. But it's always a game of finding a good middle ground, so experiment a bit here.
On segment 2, even though your exit speed was higher, you lost time on the rest of the corner due to that tighter entry. Once again, finding a good middle ground between the two approaches is the way to go. Open up your entry a bit more, but try to slow down just slightly more like in your more recent session to get the car aiming for a better exit to then open up the left hander.
Good luck and keep up the great work!

Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.
Extra -
You are holding the brakes for too long, causing your apex speed to be lower than optimal and costing you time as a result. Try release the brakes quicker so you can carry more speed through the corner and gain more time overall. - Example
----------------------

Good control through the chicanes. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good and your mid chicane acceleration is great. Also try to be quicker getting on the throttle on the exits (not just in chicanes). Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds.

Please drive a track like Zolder so we can analyse your driving in a multitude of different corner/chicane types. Great driving otherwise. Once we tick this box we will be onto the next one in no time.
Extra -
You are applying too much brake pressure, which slightly lowers your speed than optimal and costing you some time. Try apply less pressure on the brakes so you can carry a higher minimum speed and gain more time. - Example

A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.
Extra - You often accelerate too late and that cost you a lot of time. You aren't as fast to 100% with your throttle which is affecting your top speed on the subsequent straight. Practice a fast but smooth acceleration all the way to 100% throttle using as much of the track exit as available so that you can have as straight a wheel as possible. This will allow the car to use most of it's power for forward acceleration. Example

Overall performance in this assessment did not meet the required standard to progress to the next training plan. There were inconsistencies across the lap that affected your overall pace and control. While some sections showed potential, the combination of skills needs further refinement to reach the necessary consistency. Keep practicing with focused sessions, review your telemetry for patterns, and build toward greater reliability lap after lap. With continued effort, you'll be ready to advance soon.
Extra - Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example
----------------------
13/01/2026
Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!
Extra - Here you turn in too early. This means your exit is compromised because you have to delay the throttle to get around the tightening radius. For corners like this where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later and getting on the throttle early by straightening the wheel sooner. Example
---------------------
30/12/2025
Please drive longer sessions. Aim for at least 10 laps per session to get a proper review, otherwise we cannot see your best efforts.
Extra - The key issue we're seeing is that you're throttling down too soon instead of ramping up to full power. Adjust your racing line just a touch, getting closer to the apex, and you'll notice a real boost in performance. Example

A bit more adjustment is needed here. You frequently shift into a gear that's too low for the corner, which costs you time. Reflect on the gear choices from the reference lap and experiment with maintaining control in those gears. This should help improve your segment times.
Extra - Use the width of the track. Every opportunity to test the limits of the track should be used. There is room both on entry and exit to the corner to go wider. Example
----------------------
04/11/2025
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.
Extra - There are a few segments where you're turning too early into the corners, that means the car gets pushed out wide earlier, you'll have to delay getting on the throttle and your speed will be slower at the corner exit (example). Finding the right turn-in point is not always easy, but typically you need to point the car towards a good and straighter exit line while also being able to start accelerating close to the apex and quickly make it to full throttle.Checking your telemetry during and after a practice session can also be very helpful to see where you can make alight adjustments to your racing line. Also keep in mind that the turn-in point can vary according to the car's setup and the driver's preferred driving style, but they all should be around the same area. Example

Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.

Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress. Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
Extra - Even though your apexes were really good, it is important also to get the width on entry and exit from the corners, work on this as you look at the second aspect of your braking. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
Good luck and have fun on track 💪
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
