Instructor Notes

15/08/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Your overall braking canstill be improved - mainly braking points and speed on the brake pedal. Also, you're very close to the apex, but still have some room to be tighter.
iLearning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra -

This corner at Barcelona works a lot like the Parabollica at Monza. You'll be faster if you choose an earlier apex, then let the car gradually run wide and take advantage of that width and corner shape at the exit to gain some extra speed there. By pushing the car back towards the inside of the corner at the exit, you'll be covering less distance, sure, but you'll lose plenty of essential top speed, losing more time overall.

----------------------

16/07/2026
Overall performance in this assessment did not meet the required standard to progress to the next training plan. There were inconsistencies across the lap that affected your overall pace and control. While some sections showed potential, the combination of skills needs further refinement to reach the necessary consistency. Keep practicing with focused sessions, review your telemetry for patterns, and build toward greater reliability lap after lap. With continued effort, you'll be ready to advance soon.

Extra -

You are braking too early and lightly, costing you time as your speed is being reduced before the ideal braking point. Try braking at a later point and with a lot more pressure, so you can carry more speed under braking but also slow down the extra speed more efficiently, gaining you more time overall as a result of just carrying more speed on the approach to the corner. - Example

Extra -

You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure so you can roll more speed into the corner, gaining you more time overall just by maintaining a higher minimum speed through the corner. - Example

You are also sometimes braking too late, causing you to carry too much speed and overshoot the corner, costing you a significant amount of time as a result as it compromises your exit. Try adjusting to an earlier braking point to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to clip the apex, and gain more time overall just by maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

19/06/2026
Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive whether you have the control choosing a different gear. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra -

You are lifting off the throttle too much, as well as braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure and lift off the throttle a bit less, so you can carry more speed through the corner, gaining you more time overall. F1 cars have a lot of engine braking the minute you release the throttle, so releasing the throttle just a bit will slow the car down enough still for the high speed corners. - Example

----------------------

06/06/2026
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.

Extra -

You are braking considerably earlier, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a lot of time as a result. Try braking at a later point, and brake hard and fast. Don't casually roll towards to 100%. You are losing time doing this as that is time where you can gain just by carrying more speed approaching the corner. - Example

Your braking still lacks consistency. On some laps you're hitting the marks well with good modulation, but in others the pressure is either too light or too heavy for the corner, which then triggers mistakes later in the turn. Work on making your braking more repeatable in the next session—if we can lock that in, we'll be ready to move on to the next phase.

Extra -

You are still not using the most of your brakes. You are braking too lightly, causing you to carry too much speed and overshoot corners, costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with more pressure to slow the car more efficiently to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time overall. - Example

----------------------

23/04/2026
Your braking is too inconsistent. Sometimes you are showing good technique and other times your braking strength is not where it needs to be for that particular corner. This leads to other mistakes in your driving. Try to improve your consistency for the next assessment so we can move past this stage.

Extra -

You are not using the most of your brakes. You are often braking too early and lightly, meaning you are dropping your speed significantly earlier than the ideal braking point, and despite this, you are still overshooting the corner as you are carrying too much speed at the apex. Try braking later but with a lot more pressure, to gain more time just by carrying more speed under braking, but also being able to slow down more efficiently by using the most of your brakes. - Example

----------------------

09/04/2026
Very nice. Tight to the kerb on the majority of the segments (where needed). Keep up the laps, amazing work and looking forward to see how you perform on the next assigned task.

Extra -

In the final corner at Lime Rock Park, you were too slow at getting back on throttle, which costed you time as your speed was hindered for the whole straight until Turn 1. Try getting back on throttle earlier so you can accelerate quicker and have more speed approaching the next braking zone. - Example

----------------------

26/03/2026
Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra -

You are sometimes braking too lightly, which loses you time, as you are not carrying as much speed under braking as optimal. Try brake later, and with more pressure on the brakes, so you can slow down much quicker whilst carrying that extra speed under braking. Have a look at your brake pattern in comparison to the reference lap's brake pattern, to get an idea of how it should look like. - Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
