A good combination assessment, albeit a bit of a close pass, but well done nonetheless! You've shown good progress overall and as more skills are added to the combination assessments, they naturally become harder. Essentially there are more areas where errors can be seen.
Mainly there were some mistakes where you were a gear off the reference lap. Since you're on LMU, I'll assume most of the missed apexes were from avoiding traffic, so I'll ignore those. Focus a bit more on your acceleration technique, there were quite a few segments where you were lifting off at the exit, also some others where you were braking/lifting off when you didn't need to. These cars have plenty of downforce, so there's a point where they have a lot of grip at high speeds and that's where a driver's confidence and trust in the car comes in. You might want to test that limit a bit more during a practise session.
Overall a good assessment, well done!

Extra -

There are some things you can improve in faster corners. Looking at these two examples - Example 1 | Example 2 - they are quite different corners, but the principle to be faster here will be similar. Adjust your racing line first, on segment 7 your line is good, although you can turn-in a bit earlier and make the corner more like a double apex, but that'll depend on driving style and car setup. On segment 6, bring the car towards the right-hand side of the track earlier to brake more in a straighter line, getting the car settled down here and aiming towards the apex is really important due to the off-camber/downhill characteristics of the corner.
On both segments, be lighter on the brakes but really focus on trail braking and using that smooth motion to carry speed into the corner. That's where most of the speed will come from. Trail braking better here will allow the car to rotate more, compensating for the eventual understeer caused by the downhill. It's a tricky balance to get right but you'll get there eventually! Good luck!

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Nice job, your throttle inputs are looking very smooth, sometimes you really hit the throttle perfectly! There are a few hesitations here and there, but in general you are on the right track. As always, it is about the consistency of this. It is common for throttle work to be a more evolved process. Trickier to master and stay focused. When you achieve a good acceleration point then you'll be half way to achieving the desired smooth acceleration with no lifting off.

Extra - There are a few corners, mainly hairpins, where you're turning-in too early and that's costing you time at the exit. In both of these examples, you're also carrying a bit too much speed into the corners - Example 1 | Example 2 - so some drivers often turn-in early to try to compensate for that and still hit the apex, even though that slows them down at the exit. Try to work on your braking power and speed to extract as much performance as possible from the car. Also, remember to stay wide on entry and use all of the track's width to widen the corner radius in order to carry more speed through it, while also positioning the car for a good exit.
Good luck!

Impressively consistent race times, showcasing your dedication and skill. This consistent performance is a crucial asset as you prepare for your upcoming Combination Assessment. Keep up the great work, it's evident that you're on the right track towards achieving your goals.

Extra - Here you turn in too late. This means your entry is compromised because you have to use a tighter radius. For corners where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later like this but not here where there is a corner following. Example

There are some good times, however also too many invalid laps. I appreciate that this is inevitable when training but it is worth really focusing on this technique as nailing lap after lap without invalid laps is critical in a race situation. It can be the difference between a drive through or not. Slow you driving down a little and really concentrate on the consistency with valid laps. A racing drivers main skill has to be able to achieve similar lap times lap after lap. Drop your speed 10% and achieve these valid laps to move on with your training.

Extra - You went a bit deep into Turn 1 at Lusail International Circuit, causing you to miss the apex and put you off line for the corner, costing you a bit of time. Try braking at a slightly earlier braking point so you are able to hit the apex and have a better run through the corner, gaining you more time. - Example

While it's important to be fast, if you practise being consistent and avoiding going off track limits, you'll drive smoother with less mistakes. This develops good habits and muscle memory, two fundamental things to be fast and relaxed during a race. Once you get there, you'll be able to drive smoothly almost uncounsciously and then you'll see your lap times will start dropping without you even noticing.

Extra - Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track - scrubbing speed. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under it.
Also, you're often holding a higher steering angle and then quickly straightening the wheel once you've exited the corner. It's very important to unwind the steering wheel smoothly to avoid understeer once you begin exiting the corner and to ensure smooth power delivery from then on. That'll allow you to accelerate quicker and more efficiently out of the corner - Example.
Try to be more consious of your steering inputs during your practice sessions, explore more careful and smoother movements on the wheel.

----------------------

23/02/2026
Consistency is a critical component of success in sim racing, and it can make all the difference between finishing first and falling behind the pack. When you're consistent, you're able to maintain a high level of performance throughout the race and avoid costly mistakes that can cost you time and positions. So, how can you improve your consistency? The key is to practice regularly and focus on developing good habits. Make a conscious effort to drive at a consistent pace, hitting the same braking points and taking the same lines through each turn. Pay attention to your lap times and try to identify areas where you can improve. Take special care to avoid those invalid lap. Time penalties can be a killer in a race. Another important factor is staying focused and avoiding distractions. Try to eliminate any external factors that can disrupt your concentration, such as noise or interruptions. And don't forget to take care of yourself - getting enough rest, staying hydrated, and eating well can all help you maintain your focus and energy levels. Finally, don't be too hard on yourself if you do make a mistake or have a bad race. Everyone has off days, and the key is to learn from your mistakes and keep pushing yourself to improve. With practice, dedication, and a positive attitude, you can become a more consistent and successful sim racer. Good luck out there on the track!

Extra - We've observed that you could enhance your trail braking technique. Maintaining braking smoothness is key in racing to keeping the car balanced and maximising grip. You should apply the brakes sharply at first, but then release them gradually. Begin easing off the brakes right as you start turning into the corner, and continue this slow release until you hit the apex. Here's an example

----------------------

10/02/2026
Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.

Extra - Your biggest hurdle at present is lifting off the gas prematurely rather than flooring it to complete throttle. Try refining your trajectory slightly by taking a tighter line into the apex—that'll be a game-changer. Example

----------------------

26/01/2026
Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra - Here you turn in too early. This means your exit is compromised because you have to delay the throttle to get around the tightening radius. For corners like this where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later and getting on the throttle early by straightening the wheel sooner. Example

----------------------

12/01/2026
Please do more laps. You need between 30 to 50 to really see how you're doing. Our trainers are here to help whenever. Good luck and have fun out there!

Extra - Work on improvig your trail braking to enhance car control. Smoothly transitioning from heavy braking to a gentle release is essential for balance and grip. Apply sharp braking at the start, then ease off steadily as you turn into the corner, reaching zero brake pressure at the apex. For example, begin lifting off the brakes as you initiate steering to keep the car settled and grippy. Example

----------------------

17/11/2025
You're performing better in some sessions than in others, so it's a bit inconsistent although that can come down to the car you're driving and how well you know it. You can often use the width of the track well, but you're missing too many apexes. The Hitting the Apex assignment is behind us now, but getting your racing line tight to the apex is crucial to taking advantage of the whole track.
You're doing well, but there's that fine tuning to do and get everything working well together.
Good luck and keep up the good work!

Extra - We're noticing some hesitancy with your braking points, often times braking early and releasing the brakes quite early too. This is normal when you're learning a new track or getting to know a new car. However, you're letting the car coast quite early and sometimes compensating with a bit of throttle which is making you carry too much speed in the corner and miss the apex (example).
For now, we suggest that you drive some slower cars for these initial assignments. Formula 1 cars are often difficult to drive close to the limit and it can negatively impact your evolution. Try a few GT4s, or even the Toyota GR86 that you were driving at Donington. Those are some good cars to start off and build up your skills.

----------------------

04/11/2025
You've got a solid foundation with your lines, though fine-tuning you could make them even sharper. Braking is on point, but there's potential in the chicanes for better acceleration. Aim for quick spurts of speed where you can, keeping in mind that how you exit these sections defines your success. When possible, consider only partially lifting off the throttle instead of fully disengaging, perhaps by 30-50%. Above all, focus on your exit speed, as it's the key to better lap times.

Extra - Here there is a small kink before the main braking zone. You are slowing too much in the kink. Try to get the car straightened before the initial braking phase, as braking in the kink can unsettle the car and encourage the inside front to lock. Example

----------------------

15/10/2025
Please drive a circuit that has multiple chicanes on it so that we can look at your chicane skills and assess your latest plan. Zolder is a great track to try out a number of different styles of chicanes.

Extra - Try to be less erratic with the throttle, smaller motions will help. This is tricky but when you ease off the throttle, you often take the throttle to 20-30% pressure. Try to use smaller movements to avoid slowing the car too much. Example

----------------------

29/09/2025
Braking points are generally very good however there are some things to work on a little more. The mid chicane throttle work is lacking.  Have confidence to put your foot down mid chicane to squeeze in a little acceleration. It might feel insignificant but there is lots of time to be found here. Plan for your exit as well you are sometimes on and off the throttle with is stopping you getting to 100% throttle quickly.

Now you only need to stay under that limit. It looks like here you unwind the wheel in a step once you realise this instead of smoothly fixing your mistake. Example

----------------------

15/09/2025
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra - Here there is a small kink before the main braking zone. You are slowing too much in the kink. Try to get the car straightened before the initial braking phase, as braking in the kink can unsettle the car and encourage the inside front to lock. Example

----------------------

03/09/2025
Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra - Try not to lift off way before you brake, this lag time is time you could still be accelerating, instead you are coasting. Unless you are saving fuel for a race stint there is no real benefit to this strategy - certainly not in lap time. Example

---------------------

Welcome Back!

16/01/2025
Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra - You're sacrificing potential speed in the middle of turns by not cutting the apex as sharply as possible. Maximise the track's width on entry, at the apex, and on exit when the car is under control and stable. Example

----------------------

18/12/2024 - 02/01/2025
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

We noticed that your logger isn't on the latest version and this might be affecting your sessions that are being recorded.  This article explains how to upgrade to the latest version, if the system hasn't managed to automatically upgrade you.

Please ensure you also delete the folders that are indicated in the article.

Extra - No assessment.

05/12/2024
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - You are often lifting off in high speed corners. This is a sign of lack of confidence and commitment. To be fast you have to trust the car and the downforce at speed. Try to stay flat in some of these corners - sometimes it is actually better for stability. Example

----------------------

23/11/2024
Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link: https://intercom.help/track-titan/en/articles/7964105-how-do-i-update-my-track-titan-logger

Extra - Biggest issue at the moment is that you are often dropping off the throttle instead of pushing through to 100% throttle, try adjusting your racing line slightly, a little tighter to the apex will really help. Example

----------------------

06/11/2024
Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed.  The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.  Good luck and have fun on track. Extra - You're sacrificing potential speed in the middle of turns by not cutting the apex as sharply as possible. Maximise the track's width on entry, at the apex, and on exit when the car is under control and stable. Example

----------------------

24/10/2024
You're doing really well, although there were a couple of instances where you just missed the mark. No worries though, it happens to the best of us! Something to keep in mind is that sometimes there are segments of the track where you don't need to brake at all. In those instances, simply lifting off the throttle can be enough to help you retain your speed and maintain control. Enjoy your apex work and don't be afraid to test the entry-apex-exit kerbs!

Extra - You're often carrying too much speed at the apex, this is mainly due to accelerating too early in the corner. This will then make you slower on the corner exit since you'll need more time to reach full throttle.
Be patient, try to avoid pressing the throttle too early in the corner (before the apex) and try to carry the brakes a bit further into the corner to help you carry some speed on the corner entry while also slowing down for the apex.
Here's a good example for you to take into account.

----------------------

17/10/2024
Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
