Please drive a circuit that has a chicane on it so that we can look at your chicane skills and assess your latest plan. Zolder is a great track to try out a number of different styles of chicanes.

21/07/2026
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra - You are getting back on throttle too early, causing you to carry too much apex speed and run too wide on exit, significantly compromising your line into the next corner and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try be more patient before going back onto the throttle to avoid running wide, allowing the car to position towards the outside quicker to carry a better run into the next corner, gaining more time overall due to this. - Example

----------------------

Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!

Extra - You are getting back on full throttle too late, causing your exit speed to be lower than optimal and costing you a lot of time as a result of this. The slower exit speed is also carried for the entire straight. By getting back on throttle a bit quicker, you can accelerate quicker out of the corner, and carry a higher top speed by the end of the straight, gaining you more time overall. - Example

----------------------

25/06/2026
A little bit more work is needed here. Too often you are one gear off the reference lap, there is time left on the table when you are doing this. Try to remember the gearing choices of the reference lap and test where you are able to control the car better in this gear and you'll notice your segment deltas should be improving as well.

Extra - By running slightly wide of the ideal apex, you're giving up cornering speed. Commit to the classic outside-inside-outside line, using the entire track width on entry, apex, and exit in the stable portions of the corner. Example

----------------------

11/06/2026
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - You are holding the brakes for too long, causing your speed to drop more than the reference lap and costing you a significant amount of time as a result of this. Try releasing the brakes quicker so you can carry more speed through the corner and gain more time overall due to maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

----------------------

15/04/2026
Your braking still lacks consistency. On some laps you're hitting the marks well with good modulation, but in others the pressure is either too light or too heavy for the corner, which then triggers mistakes later in the turn. Work on making your braking more repeatable in the next session—if we can lock that in, we'll be ready to move on to the next phase.

Extra - You are braking too early and lightly, causing your speed to be lower than optimal and costing you significant time. This affects the rest of this section as you come on full throttle to make up for the lower speed, but it means you have to brake in a non braking section to avoid running off track. Try brake later and harder so you can maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time. The extra speed will help with the rest of this section as you will not have to apply full throttle to gain that same speed. - Example

08/07/2025 - 31/03/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

----------------------

24/06/2025
Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apexes. Great job using the whole width of the track. Practice trying to take a slightly later apex and see how this affects your deltas. Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle.

Your throttle engagement should generally be within two car lengths of your apex.

Extra - Check out your accelerator pedal it is never getting above 97% this is possibly a mechanical error (debris in the pedal mechanism), if a fix isn't possible this can always be resolved in the in-game settings when you can apply a small about 2% of deadzone at the top of the accelerator pedal. This will mean you have to push the throttle just a little bit less to achieve 100% gas. At the moment you are consistently losing time because of this, so it is impressive you are achieving the times you are - example

10/06/2025
Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

----------------------

Welcome Back!

08/07/2024
There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb, sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and you'll get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements.

Extra - Here's an example of where you are missing the apex. In this case, it all started from the previous corner. You went too wide on the exit, forcing you onto t tighter line through the right hander. This, combined with a late turn-in, caused you to miss the apex.

----------------------

25/06/2024
Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on most of the time and you show a good understanding in the MX5 of not over-braking. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily.

Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - It is important to consider how quickly you are getting to 100% throttle. Often seen as the most important factor in lowering your lap times. This currently is the area where you will see the biggest gains in your lap times. Be more aggressive on exit, gauge the limits of the car in terms of lose of tractions and as they say push, push, push - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
