We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).
The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. ๐

You only drove on one track these past two weeks, so we'd like to see you drive through a few different kinds of chicanes. Currently, your racing line still needs some adjustment at Watkins Glenn, you're a tad too wide at the first apex, which sends you wide and reduces your speed at the middle of the bus stop.
This is a very fast chicane that demands high precision, so it's alright if you don't get it instantly right. By progressing through different chicanes in other tracks, you'll gain a better understanding of how the car behaves under those sudden direction changes, preparing you better for this demanding segment at Watkins Glenn.
Keep up the good work and we're looking forward to see how you improve!
Extra -
Be careful with how you're downshifting. Currently, you're braking first, then quickly shifting down two or three gears really close to the turn-in point (Example 1 | Example 2). This can be potentially dangerous because downshifting aggressively can cause the rear wheels to lose grip, resulting in a spin once you turn into the corner. Also, by downshifting earlier you'll take advantage of the higher RPM to engine brake, slowing you down more effectively when combined with the actual brakes.
Remember to downshift a bit earlier, let the engine RPM come down a bit between downshifts and be a bit calmer at that stage. Maybe also try to practise this first alone on the track, in case muscle memory kicks in and you blow the engine. We've all been there and it's not very fun when it happens in a race.
Good luck!

A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.
Extra -
You are too slow getting back on the throttle on corner exit, costing you a considerable amount of time as a result of a slower acceleration speed out of the corner. Try and get back on the throttle quicker, so you can carry a higher acceleration on corner exit, gaining you more time overall. - Example

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.
Good luck and have fun on track ๐ช

Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive whether you have the control choosing a different gear. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....
Extra - You are still braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costs you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure so you can carry more speed into the corner and gain more time overall due to maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! ๐ช
Extra - You are holding too much brake pressure for too long, causing your speed to be reduced more than optimal under braking and costing you time as you are not carrying the same speed entering the corner. Try braking with less pressure so you can roll more speed on corner entry, gaining you time overall. - Example

Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.
Extra - It looks like your steering angle is quite low compared to the reference driver. You might not quite be on the limit of grip - the optimal slip angle. Try to turn the wheel a little more to find the peak grip - but don't go over it. Example

27/02/2026
Good job with your braking points. Often, you were braking a few meters too early which cost you time. But nothing major. We'll move onto the next skill now. Good luck and have fun!
Extra - Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 20-30 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

A bit more work is needed here before we move on. In high speed corners you are braking too much and slowing the car more than necessary. In low speed corners you were braking a few meters too late which meant that you were a bit wide on entry. Let's give this assignment another go. Good luck and have fun!
Extra - In general, you are over driving. Trying to push the car beyond it's limit to find time, braking too late and getting on the throttle too early (example). Weight distrobution is really important in the GR86, as soon as you get on throttle all the weight goes to the back of the car and you have very little turning ability. Focus on applying the throttle just before you pointing the direction you want to go on exit as this will reduce understeer. Try using less brake pressure in low speed corners to avoid activating the ABS.

Some more work is needed here. Currently you are braking too late and running deep into the corner. Brake earlier and use more pressure to find time. Let's give this assignment another go. Good luck and have fun!

Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!
Extra - Getting on the power too soon is inducing understeer, causing you to back off the throttle mid-corner. Wait a touch longer before committing, then apply the throttle more assertively yet progressively. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
Good luck and have fun on track ๐ช
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
