Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

A nice improvement here. You show a smoother movement on the majority of segments. Just be aware that it is very easy to slip on this area. That smoothness of steering (as well as braking and throttle) will help you maintain a balance / weighted car. This combined with ensuring your use the full width of the track might help shave another few tenths off your time.

Extra - You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure, so you can carry more speed through the corner and gain more time overall due to maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

----------------------

09/07/2026
Sorry for the delay on the update.
Great use of trail braking, by releasing the brake slowly to help rotate the car around sharper hairpins and get back on the throttle smoothly. This will help shave tenths off your time as you are setting yourself up well for the corner exit. There are still some smaller things you can improve, mainly being smoother when releasing the brakes since there were some segments where your inputs were a bit spiky.
Once more, a good assessment, well done!

Extra - In these faster corners at Red Bull Ring, you'll benefit from lighter braking, while trail braking deeper into the corner, rather than controlling your apex speed with the throttle. The car will rotate better and will be more balanced at the entry, giving you a better angle for a faster exit, while also avoiding carrying too much speed at the apex and losing time at the exit due to that.

----------------------

25/06/2026
As more skills are added to the combination assessments they naturally become harder. Essentially there are more areas where errors can be seen. You did an extremely good job last week and managed to pass. If you look back at your telemetry you'll be able to spot small improvements that are needed. For example, sometimes just a slight hesitation on the throttle as you accelerate or missing a tight apex.

Extra - You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure so you can carry more speed into the corner and gain more time overall just by maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

----------------------

13/04/2026
Your consistency and track usage is good but currently you are too wide during turn in which costs you lots of time. This is mainly because of your braking technique. Have a look at the advice bellow and give this assignment another go. Remember to check back with the reference lap to see where you can imrpove. Good luck and haev fun!

Extra - Sometimes, it's better to brake a bit earlier with less pressure, but for longer. This allows for better weight transfer and avoids unsettling the car. There were a few corners like this but you were braking heavily and quickly. You found a bit of time under braking but lost time in the corner. Try to copy the reference laps brake shape for a bit and see how you get on. - example

----------------------

31/03/2026
This is a pass. Sometimes you really hit the throttle perfectly. There are a few hesitations but in general you are on the right track. As always, it is about the consistency of this. It is common for throttle work to be a more evolved process. Trickier to master and stay focused. When you achieve a good acceleration point then you'll be half way to achieving the desired smooth acceleration with no lifting off.

Extra - In the fast sweeping corners in Sector 1 of St Petersburg, you tend to lift off the throttle at the final one before the straight, instead of taking it flat. This costs you time as it hurts your speed all the way until the next braking zone. Try avoid lifting off the throttle and keep it flat so you can maintain more speed on the straight until the next braking zone. - Example

----------------------

04/03/2026
Nearly, but you are lifting off the throttle too early and in places you don't need to. Work on building confidence through highspeed corners. iRacing's active reset point is a really good way to do this as you can make mistakes without having to rest to pits and warm up the tyres again. Give this assignment another go and see how you get on.

Extra - You aren't turning the steering wheel enough right now which means you're not maximising the tyres grip through corners. If you turn the wheel more (although not too much, otherwise you'll get understeer!) you can take some more speed into the corner. - example

----------------------

----------------------

06/01/2026
This is unfortunately not yet a pass, you're often accelerating early in the corner and then lifting off before accelerating a final time. Try to let the car coast a bit on the apex to help you find the best place to accelerate out of the corner. When you feel more confident, reduce the amount of time you spend coasting.

Extra - The key issue we're seeing is that you're throttling down too soon instead of ramping up to full power. Adjust your racing line just a touch, getting closer to the apex, and you'll notice a real boost in performance. Example

----------------------

22/12/2025
This is still an hard area for you and more practice is needed. Slow your speed down a little (you can coast mid corner to gently slow your car) and then ensure that when you accelerate it is smooth without lifting off the throttle at all. When you have mastered this as a slower speed and get the feeling for a continual smooth acceleration then you can move back up to full race pace and try to control your acceleration again.

Extra - Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example

----------------------

08/12/2025
A little more work is needed here. In this assignment we don't want you to lift off the throttle unnecessarily but you are actually not lifting enough. In some high speed corners, it's better to do a big, long lift instead of going on and off the accelerator. This will help with the cars balance and reduce understeer by keeping more weight on the front tyres.

Extra - When braking try to be more consistent with your brake pressure. When braking you want to apply the brakes quickly, hold the peak pressure (this changes depending on the corner) and then release quickly again. Currently, you are braking a lot, then lifting off, the braking more again and lifting off. This can unsettle the car and means you have to brake earlier. Make sure to compare with the reference lap in between sessions and have a look at your brake inputs. Remember to fully lift off the throttle as well!- example

Please drive more road tracks. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment with you only driving ovals. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready. Good luck and have fun on track!!

10/11/2025
Impressively consistent race times, showcasing your dedication and skill. This consistent performance is a crucial asset as you prepare for your upcoming Combination Assessment. Keep up the great work, it's evident that you're on the right track towards achieving your goals.

Extra - Here you turn in too late. This means your entry is compromised because you have to use a tighter radius. For corners where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later like this but not here where there is a corner following. Example

----------------------

22/10/2025
Your racing lines are starting to look like you are understanding. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are still a few corners where you are entering too tight and exiting too narrow, which costs you minimum speed. It's just about a pass but lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.

Extra - Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example

----------------------

06/10/2025
You've got a solid foundation with your lines, though fine-tuning you could make them even sharper. Braking is on point, but there's potential in the chicanes for better acceleration. Aim for quick spurts of speed where you can, keeping in mind that how you exit these sections defines your success. When possible, consider only partially lifting off the throttle instead of fully disengaging, perhaps by 30-50%. Above all, focus on your exit speed, as it's the key to better lap times.

Extra - One area to target is improving your minimum speed in corners, which relies heavily on braking later and staying committed to the throttle through the turn. This will tighten the gap in your corner exit performance. For instance, experimenting with a slightly later braking zone can unlock more consistent speed retention. Example

Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra - From your race session, you're pumping the brakes quite a lot (example). That can cause a lot of weight shifts in the car that will change the way it behaves during a corner. Try to smooth this out into a single smooth motion like the reference driver does. Good luck and keep up the good work!

11/08/2025
Please drive a circuit that has a chicane on it so that we can look at your chicane skills and assess your latest plan. Zolder is a great track to try out a number of different styles of chicanes.

----------------------

30/07/2025
You are still losing a lot of time in the chicanes. Braking too late is forcing you deep into the first part of the corner. This has a knock on effect of making you get any mid chicane acceleration. Also the car is facing at the wrong angle for your exit thus exit speed suffers as well. Therefore, brake earlier and see if the rest of the chicane comes together.

Extra - By not aiming for the sharpest possible apex, you're losing precious speed mid-corner. It's crucial to make use of every bit of track space available at the entry, apex, and exit points where your vehicle maintains stability. Example

----------------------

14/07/2025
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful and you're sometimes braking a bit too late. Secondly, there are a number of times when your inputs on the brake are a bit inconsistent with a lot of up and down movements near the max brake pressure value. Try to smooth this out a bit more so the car feels more predicable when you're gradually releasing the brakes while turning into the corners.
Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra - There are a couple of segments where you're accelerating early, but that's causing you to lift on the corner exit to avoid going off the track. Taking a look at this example, avoid using the throttle too much before the apex, some cars need a bit of acceleration to rotate in the mid-corner phase, but you should aim at accelerating right on the apex, on some instances just a little bit before is the corner shape allows it. You can see how the reference driver delayed their acceleration until they were almost at the apex so they could stay committed and keep the car at full throttle at the corner exit. Analyse segments like the example above and try to find those sweet spots during your laps so you can avoid losing unnecessary time on the corner exits.

----------------------

30/06/2025
Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. One small area to tweak would be testing if you can push the gear a little further before you change up, there might be a little flexibility here to push the car a little harder.

So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far.

You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!

Extra - Spend most of your time looking at your braking pressure and throttle pressure. We need to work on reducing the amount that you are slowing the car down. You tend to be a little too hard on the brakes on faster corners. The game is to play with the pressure point to see what you can get away with whilst still being in control of the car. At times you were 20kph slower than the reference lap. Also, in contrast you need to look at your throttle. Eagerness is good but there are times where keeping it nice and simple is preferable. Try coming off the throttle completely, timing your acceleration point and then and only then get on the power. This is an uncomplicated corner and gives us plenty to work on - example

----------------------

16/06/2025
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins.

Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - Be wary about trying to use an extra gear just before you reach a corner. The process or changing up and then having to quickly change down again on your gears can be less effective than just pushing the gear that little bit harder. You do this quite often, at least experiment with this and see if you can take a some of the complications away on corner entry - example

----------------------

02/06/2025
There needs to be a little more speed and urgency in your braking. Sometimes you nail it but on too many occasions there is too much hesitancy. You are braking a little earlier than the reference lap and getting to 100% braking later. Try to press the brake pedal quicker whilst doing your best to maintain traction. Also, try to avoid resting on the brake pedal before fully committing to the braking phase.

Practice is needed but it is a skill that is relatively easy to view and adapt to.

Extra - Try to avoid turning in too early, the aim is to reduce the corner angle as much as possible by using the width on enter and exit to achieve a 'wider' corner. In this example you drift a little towards the corner on entry and there is a lot of room on exit as well - example

----------------------

12/05/2025
Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apexes. Great job using the whole width of the track. Practice trying to take a slightly later apex and see how this affects your deltas. Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle.

Your throttle engagement should generally be within two car lengths of your apex.

Extra - Work on your throttle speed on exit, this is also related to your gear choice. In this example, by dropping to first makes it trickier for you to control the car on the hill in first gear, by remaining in 2nd gear you'll be able to be more aggressive and ultimately faster - example

----------------------

28/04/2025
Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link:

Extra - Delay getting on the throttle too early, this is causing you to understeer and in turn forcing you to lift off the throttle. Wait a little, then be quicker and smoother with the throttle pedal. Example

----------------------

22/04/2025
Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
