Instructor Notes

29/07/2026 - 26/08/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Very nice. Tight to the kerb on the majority of the segments (where needed). Keep up the laps, amazing work and looking forward to see how you perform on the next assigned task.

Extra -

You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure, so you can gain more time overall just by carrying more speed under braking. - Example

Finding the fastest way through a corner isn’t always about sticking to the line that feels “just right.” Sometimes, pushing closer to the apex unlocks hidden speed. Imagine starting wide, aiming your entry toward the curb, and adjusting when you clip the apex—earlier or later, depending on the turn’s demands. On the exit, let the car drift naturally across the track, using every inch of space. Over time, these adjustments become automatic, and once they do, you can fine-tune your approach to shave off even more time.

Extra -

You are missing your braking points completely, causing you to overshoot the corner and miss the apex entirely, costing you a considerable amount of time. Try braking earlier so you can make the apex, maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time overall without overshooting the corner. - Example

Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on. Important! You have clearly got good reference markers. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks with regards to brake pressure and trailbraking to improve lap time further. Take a look at the way the reference driver smoothly bleeds off the brakes when going into a corner. This is better for weight transfer and overall grip.

Extra -

In the first Lesmo at Monza, you are braking too late, and in the middle of the track, causing you to overshoot the corner, both by the extra speed and the shallow entry into the corner. Try adjusting to an earlier braking point, and start on the outside of the track to open the corner better to take a better line through the corner, maintaining a higher minimum speed and gaining you more time. - Example

Some more work is needed here. There are a few things we need to work on before we move on. Have a look at the advice bellow and let's give this assignment another try.

Extra -

Currently you are braking way too early and that's mainly because of the racing line you are taking into the corner. You are approaching from the middle/inside of the track which makes the corner a lot tighter. If you approach from the outside you can open up the corner a lot, take more speed and brake later. - example

Could you please run more laps? There were not enough valid laps on your sessions and we need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra -

Currently, you're braking very early and then compensating with the throttle. This can be good when you're learning a new track, but consistently doing this is setting you back on your progress.
Your racing line is also a bit all over the place (example). Study the reference lap's braking points and racing line and try to apply it to your practice sessions. Try to commit to a braking point without using much throttle before the apex. If you go wide, that's okay. You're testing the limits and that's what practice sessions are for and you don't really have to pay for damage and fuel in a simulator.
Keep at it and with time good racing lines and braking points will come to you!
Good luck!

Your braking points were sometimes really good but there was too much inconsistency. Try driving just a little slower and really learning and nailing those braking points. Also, it would be a idea to continue breaking your sessions up into sets of about 8-12 laps and then referring back to the reference lap in between.

Good luck and you'll be onto the next racing skill.

Extra -

Even though your apexes were really good, it is important also to get the width on entry and exit from the corners, work on this as you look at the second aspect of your braking. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
