Instructor Notes

This is unfortunately not a pass yet. Currently the best part of your driving is your gear selection. However, you missed quite a few apexes in your sessions, sometimes due to braking too late. Adding to that, there were many segments where you were braking too hard then compensating with the throttle, sometimes then getting back on the brakes. Try to focus more on driving smoothly than driving fast. If you're smooth, the speed will automatically come with that. Focus on getting your braking points right, releasing the brakes smoothly as you turn into the corner and hitting those apexes. Keep practising that and you'll easily improve your lap times! Good luck!

Bonus Focus Point

It looks like you're sometimes losing a bit of time on corner complexes. Most of the times, you're going too deep after the first apex (example) and end up losing time at the exit of the segment. In corner complexes, it's usually faster to sacrifice some exit speed after the first apex to then have a better entry into the second corner, especially if the following segment includes a straight or a full throttle section.
During your practise sessions, try different approaches to the segment in the given example and see how each one affects your delta. Good luck!

Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!

Extra -

You are too slow getting back on full throttle when exiting the corner, causing your exit speed to be significantly affected and costing you a considerable amount of time down the straight as a result. Try and get back on full power quicker so you can have a quicker acceleration out of the corner, gaining you more time overall due to carrying a higher exit speed. - Example

Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra -

You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure, so you can carry more speed through the corner and gain more time overall due to maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

Very nice. Tight to the kerb on the majority of the segments (where needed). Keep up the laps, amazing work and looking forward to see how you perform on the next assigned task.

Extra -

You are braking and accelerating at the same time, which ends up costing you time instead of gaining you time, as you are asking the car to accelerate and brake at the same time, which just induces understeer as you are overloading the tyres. Try make sure you are only using one pedal at a time to make the most of each pedal and extract the maximum out of the car, gaining you more time overall just by avoiding using both pedals at once. - Examples

Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
