Instructor Notes

15/03/2026 - 15/08/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Could you record drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra - You're often pointing the car towards the corner quite early, which gives you a tighter entry (example). That then will cost you speed and time at the corner exit. Try to stay wide for longer and brake in a straight line. Commit to a turn-in point instead of gradually pointing the car towards the apex. That'll make sure you'll have the widest possible entry into the corner and therefore be able to carry more speed through it and, at the apex, point the car towards a faster exit too.

Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.

Extra - There are a few segments where you're turning too early into the corners, that means the car gets pushed out wide earlier, you'll have to delay getting on the throttle and your speed will be slower at the corner exit (example). Finding the right turn-in point is not always easy, but typically you need to point the car towards a good and straighter exit line while also being able to start accelerating close to the apex and quickly make it to full throttle.Checking your telemetry during and after a practice session can also be very helpful to see where you can make alight adjustments to your racing line. Also keep in mind that the turn-in point can vary according to the car's setup and the driver's preferred driving style, but they all should be around the same area. Example

Extra - Try to be less erratic with the throttle, smaller motions will help. This is tricky but when you ease off the throttle, you often take the throttle to 20-30% pressure. Try to use smaller movements to avoid slowing the car too much. Example

Very nice, your braking points are looking quite decent. You're often a bit off the reference lap, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress (some tips already in the section below).  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - Your trail braking is something that really needs to improve. Maintaining braking smoothness is key in racing to keeping the car balanced and maximising grip. You should apply the brakes sharply at first, but then release them gradually. Begin easing off the brakes right as you start turning into the corner, and continue this slow release as you increase the steering angle until you hit the apex.
This will help you keep the car balanced on the corner entry, therefore allowing you to brake later and carry more speed into the corner. Here's an example.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
