Kai Bilinsky - Race Plan No. 11

Conclusion
This is a very clean lap. There are very few places where you deviate from the reference line, and the only major difference is usually the braking points. Just make sure you are getting to 100% braking force as quickly as possible, this will help reduce the time you spend slowing down.

Set Up Advice
The Red Bull Ring is a high speed track, with lots of space to gain time on the straights and long corners, so make sure you're not restricting the time you can gain. But, due to there not being many slow speed corners, downforce levels still need to be high. It looks like you gain time on the reference lap down the straights, but you lose time in the corners due to having less downforce, so make sure you don't sacrifice too much time round the corners.

Segment 1

☐ Your line is practically identical to the reference lap, and you approach turn 1 at a higher speed. You brake earlier, but you only reach 100% after the reference lap has. It would help shorten your braking zone even more if you were quicker to 100%, so make sure to really push fast on the brake. Your throttle application is flawless.

Segment 2

☐ This segment is driven flat out.

Segment 3

☐ The majority of your time here is lost on the brakes. You start braking much earlier, and you're again a little slow to reach full force, but you bleed off nicely. The whole braking process seems to come a little early though, because you start turning later and you apex later. This helps you to accelerate out though, and your exit is very nicely done.

Segment 4

☐ This segment is driven flat out.

Segment 5

☐ I see a similar story here with the braking again. It's early, but it takes a while to reach 100%. Again, your bleed off is nice, and you apex late, aiding your acceleration overall.

Segment 6

☐ You have a much more prominent brake here than the reference lap, but overall that's not what loses you the most time. You start accelerating early, and it causes you to lift off ever so slightly. Once you do that, the reference lap has overtook you in terms of acceleration, so make sure that you don't have to lift off once you apply the throttle.

Segment 7

☐ The exact same applies here as well. You have a more prominent brake, you accelerate slightly too early, but this time it causes you to simply accelerate slower. The reference lap starts accelerating later but is able to quickly get to full force, so maybe try this approach for the next session.

Segment 8

☐ The exact same as segment 6 can apply here. Try and only apply the throttle again once you don't have to lift or slow your rate of throttle input.

Segment 9

☐ Overall, it looks like this segment is very clean, but the braking and throttle just need a little sharpening up. All you need to do is brake slightly later and accelerate slightly earlier, no change to the techniques at all.
