Conclusion
This is a very clean lap. I can see that you tend to brake slightly earlier and slightly slower, but this isn't a major concern at all. I mention in segment 6 that I believe it's mainly setup to blame for this difference in braking, so make sure to read the setup advice section below


Set Up Advice
As I just mentioned, it seems that you are running a lower downforce setup here, but this costs you a lot of time in the faster corners especially. Shanghai is a high speed track, but there is still a focus on high speed downforce, particularly in segments 5, 6, and 8. Try to raise your overall downforce. A good reference point should be if you can take segment 5 flat out. If not, you probably don't have quite enough downforce.

Segment 1

☐ This corner is very tricky, because of how arbitrary it seems. The reference lap takes a much shallower line, particularly in the second phase of the corner, but I notice that your brake traces are very different. Whereas you have done a series of small braking zones, the reference lap has done a smoother but longer brake at the start of the corner. This will most likely help them keep a consistent level of grip, meaning they can maintain their narrow line. Try to replicate this for future runs.

Segment 2

☐ You have a much tighter line initially, but this actually works against you a little later on. Because the reference lap took a wider line for the first apex here, they have a straighter line to accelerate, meaning it's easier for them to gain speed.

☐ This segment is driven flat out.

Segment 4

☐ Your brake trace here is remarkably similar to the reference lap, and so is your line. I notice that you take an ever so slightly shallower line on entry, and unfortunately this works against you on the exit. The reference lap is able to straighten up slightly early, allowing for better acceleration. Try and aim for a slightly later apex as well here.

Segment 5

☐ The reference lap is able to take this corner flat, however you have a noticeable lift mid way through the turn. This is most likely down to setup, but it costs you a lot of time in comparison. It is also important to see that your lines are identical. This shows that you need to go slower to have the same level of grip, proving that you are running with less overall downforce.

Segment 6

☐ Your braking comes slightly earlier here, but the trace is remarkably similar to the reference lap. You're able to hold a tighter line here and I think that if you had identical setups, you would have been quicker here. Your lack of downforce is a let-down here unfortunately, but very well driven.

Segment 7

☐ The first apex here is near identical, but the reference lap stays straighter before the second apex. This allows them to accelerate better, thus carrying more speed through the second apex. Try to make sure that you are using all the available grip here.

Segment 8

☐ Your entry is very nice, but you could afford to take more kerb at the second apex. This will also help line you up better for the long corner running onto the back straight. Your acceleration doesn't quite match the reference lap for the remainder of the corner, although I believe this has more to do with the difference in setup rather than differences in driving techniques.

Segment 9

☐ This segment is driven flat out.

Segment 10

☐ You have nailed this hard braking zone. You approach the corner at a higher speed due to your lower downforce, but you still manage to brake at a similar time to the reference lap. There is a small hesitation on the throttle, but this is the only thing costing you time here. Very well driven.

Segment 11

☐ Your entry here is what's costing you time. Your braking is not quite as harsh as it can be, leaving less time to accelerate away from the corner afterwards. Make sure you slow very quickly before powering away as soon as possible.
