You have some longer sessions with good lap times, but they're too inconsistent unfortunately. Remember the criteria: 10 consecutive laps with times within 1 to 1.5 seconds of each other.
Even though we need to practice driving at the limit and being as quick as possible, it's also important to be a bit more conservative and focus on consistency. With time, you'll be able to be consistently fast instead of having a couple of good laps and then a few slower ones due to mistakes.
Keep up the good work and good luck!
Extra - You need to work on the transition from full throttle to full brakes a bit more. Often times, you're applying the brakes too slowly and while still at full throttle (example). A small overlap is alright, but this is too much. To be effective on the brakes and not lose time, that first input needs to be really sharp, together with quickly releasing the throttle. You'll then need to slowly release the brakes as you turn into the corner.

Please do more laps. You need between 30 to 50 to really see how you're doing. Our trainers are here to help whenever. Good luck and have fun out there!
Extra - By not aiming for the sharpest possible apex, you're losing precious speed mid-corner. It's crucial to make use of every bit of track space available at the entry, apex, and exit points where your vehicle maintains stability. Example

Good sessions, but they were just too short, with only one of them exceeding 10 laps, but your streak was interrupted by a couple of invalid laps. Dedicate some of your time to run a longer session, maybe at least 15 laps just to be safe and focus on driving quickly but safe. Nail your braking points lap after lap, be smooth with both the throttle and steering inputs to make sure you stay within the track limits and in control of the car.
Remember the passing criteria: at least 10 consecutive valid laps with lap times within 1 to 1.5 seconds of each other.
Good luck!
Extra - There are a couple of things we need to address about your corner entry. Let's use this segment as an example. First, you need to push the track limits a bit more on the braking zone, stay wide and use the kerbs when possible to widen the corner as much as possible. Then, as you turn into the corner, you need to gradually release the brakes. Currently you're releasing the pedal very quickly, you even had to reapply the brakes once more before the apex. Follow the reference lap's Braking graph and aim for a slow and gradual release as you increase the steering angle until you reach the apex. This will allow you to brake later, as you're slowing down further into the corner and it will help with grip and rotation into the corner. These are things that will enable you to predict how the car will behave and improve your control over it. This of course will also help with your consistency for the current assignment.
Keep up the good work and good luck!
----------------------
12/06/2025
You're nearly there, you had a series of 9 valid laps in a couple of sessions, we're looking at a minimum of 10 for a pass. Remember that the lap times need to be within around 1 second of each other, you also need to work on that a little. Often times you're doing well, but there's usually an outlier on your longer streaks.
For this assignment, avoid pushing to your limits while also still driving fast enough to be competitive. Stay smooth on your inputs, you're often a bit erratic on the throttle so smoothing that out will surely help you become more consistent.
Keep on trying and really focus on getting those laps going. Good luck!
Extra - There are quite a few segments where you need to use more track, mainly at the corner entry (example). Remember to stay close to the track limits to increase the corner radius and thus the amount of speed you can carry. Finding a good track position to approach a corner is fundamental to increase consistency and improve you lap times. Good luck on track!

You're often braking early and then controlling the car's speed with the throttle before you reach the apex (example), sometimes even alternating between the throttle and brakes more than once (example).
Even though you might be carrying more speed at the apex, that will make you slower at the corner exit because you'll need to delay your acceleration to full throttle to avoid going too wide. Adding to that, braking early is making you lose a lot of time at the braking zone and corner entry.
Focus on carrying the brakes into the corner and really avoid touching the throttle before the apex. Maintaining braking smoothness is key in racing to keeping the car balanced and maximising grip, aim for a good braking point, a little early is alright but try not to be too late, then you should apply the brakes sharply at first, but then release them gradually. Begin easing off the brakes right as you start turning into the corner, and continue this slow release as you increase the steering angle until you hit the apex.
Trail braking will allow you to brake later, carry more speed into the corners but also slow down enough at the apex to avoid losing time at the exit.
Good luck on track and keep practising!
----------------------
02/05/2025
Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.
Extra - Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example

Extra - Try to be less erratic with the throttle, smaller motions will help. This is tricky but when you ease off the throttle, you often take the throttle to 20-30% pressure. Try to use smaller movements to avoid slowing the car too much. Example
----------------------
20/03/2025
We didn't have many sessions for us to analyse, but from what we could see in Monza, you still need some more time to improve for this assignment. You're often letting the car turn a little towards the inside of the track as you approach a corner. Try to keep the car as straight as you can as you make your way towards the corner, first focus on the braking point, then start focusing on the apex, but really try to keep the car going straight. Drivers will often naturally turn towards where they're looking, so this is the part where it's easier to make mistakes.
As you're approaching the apex, you need to try to spot the corner exit and focus on where you want to aim the car after the apex. Once you get the timing right for the acceleration, just make your way towards the edge of the track on the exit!
Try to apply this on your next sessions. Good luck!
Extra - Let's look at the way you're braking on this segment, you need to do the exact opposite. You're already using 100% brake pressure, so that's great, now you just need to work the motion on the brake pedal in order to optimize the way you're braking and your corner entry. The comment written on the last turnover day still stands - In racing, being smooth is important to keep the car balanced and the grip levels high. While the first attack on the brakes is supposed to be very quick, releasing the brakes is a slow and smooth process. Try to start releasing the brakes at around the turn-in point and do it in a gradual motion until you reach the apex.

Good control through the chicanes. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good, but you can sometimes be tighter to the apex, and your mid chicane acceleration is also looking good. Be careful how you apply the throttle on the exit, you were often a bit too on and off the throttle. It's better to take some more time to reach full throttle and stay under control, than to be on and off in an attempt to save the corner. Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds.
Extra - We've observed that you could enhance your trail braking technique. Maintaining braking smoothness is key in racing to keeping the car balanced and maximising grip. You should apply the brakes sharply at first, but then release them gradually. Begin easing off the brakes right as you start turning into the corner, and continue this slow release until you hit the apex. Here's an example.

Extra - One key area to focus on is maintaining higher minimum speeds, which largely comes down to braking later and staying on the throttle longer through corners. This approach will help you reduce the gap in your corner exit performance. For example, a slight delay in braking can make a noticeable difference in carrying momentum through turns. Example

Extra - You've made good progress, but it's important to address your tendency to brake early. While being cautious is understandable, braking too early can lead to a loss of momentum, affecting your overall lap time. To optimise your performance, try to identify braking points that allow you to carry more speed into the corners. Gradually delay your braking to find the sweet spot where you're slowing down just enough without sacrificing speed. With practice, you'll find the right balance and see noticeable improvements in your lap times. Keep refining your technique—you've got this! Example

When it comes to the chicanes in particular there are some key areas we can look to improve. In particular you typically enter the corner quite a bit slower than you could do. When looking at the reference lap it is often because you are not committing and cutting the apexes as much as you could be, especially on the way in. Of course this is a fine balance but it looks like there is more on the table. The straighter the line you can get away with will allow you to carry the most speed through the back to back corners.
Extra - Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example

Nicely driven! You improved in these 4 key areas over the last few weeks. There will always to improvements and adjustments that you can make. It is all about fine tuning those braking points, racing line and throttle application. Your gears look decent but always check back to the telemetry. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.
Extra - Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example

You tend to brake too early. In this example you sort of build to full strength progressively. Try your best to brake more firmly to begin with and trail off deeper into the corner. You should be able to pick later reference points once you master this. Example

Nearly. It is a hard task to bring all these skills together at the same time. Keep up the work, it is worth persevering. By concentrating on the important of the braking point and power will make it possible to turn your attention more to the throttle. It is at this point that you'll see the biggest improvements in your times. The braking points and apex work suffered in this combination assessment. Concentrate on these two areas to move onto the next training plan.
Extra - I see multiple instances where you are hitting the brakes multiple times. This unsettles the car. Try to commit fully once and then blend off as you come into the corner. Usually this means you can get away with starting your braking later. The exception of course is in corner complexes. Also try to get right on those apexes in chicanes. Example

Extra - Here you are on the brake and the throttle at the same time which stops you slowing down fast enough. This means you are still on the brakes through the mid corner where you want to be getting back on the power. It also causes you to understeer. Example
----------------------
11/04/2024
Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive whether you have the control dropping one gear lower. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....
Extra - Try to work on your trailbraking, you typically come off the brakes too quickly which can unsettle the car. Example
----------------------
28/03/2024
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.
Please can you also make sure you are on the latest logger via this link: https://intercom.help/track-titan/en/articles/7964105-how-do-i-update-my-track-titan-logger
Extra - You could still work on your trailbraking when releasing the brake into a corner. Look to see how the reference driver transitions. Example
----------------------
14/03/2024
There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb, sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and you'll get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements. Try to get a few more laps in a minimum of 20 really is needed to start to see improvements.
Extra - You get on the power too early in the Parabolica, this causes you to go wide and you lift off again - killing your momentum. Try to wait until you can fully commit to the power. Example
----------------------
29/02/2024
Very nice, your braking points are much better this time. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily.
Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
Extra - Check out your throttle, how you are on and off the pedal, have the confidence and conviction to try and maintain a single motion through to 100% throttle power. Once you have this motion nice and smooth then you can start to increase the speed of applying the pedal, always maintaining a smooth motion - example
----------------------
15/02/2024
There were some good segments but unfortunately too many missed braking points. Practice trying to be consistent. This is best done by driving a little slower than your maximum. Remember your braking points and try to repeat for 3 laps in a row, always trying to be within a second and a half of the lap before. Only when you achieve this try going a little faster. Repeat his process for many laps but don't forget to put back to the analysis to make sure you aren't making any big mistakes. Brake hard and fast, never rest your foot on the brake before committing to the braking point.Good luck and I'm sure with enough laps and the advice above you'll be passing this driving skill.
Extra - Pay particular attention to your throttle work. It is very important to maintain a smooth consistent acceleration out of the corner. You are currently very 'on/off' with the throttle which is significantly affecting your lap times as you are struggling to get to 100% power quickly. Quick feet, nerves of steel and really testing the limits of the car and track are needed - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
