Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!

Bonus Focus Point

You are braking with too much pressure, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking with less pressure so you can carry more speed into the corner and gain more time due to maintaining a higher minimum speed. - Example

Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra -

You are braking a bit early, costing you a bit of time as this could be extra speed carried before braking. Try adjusting to a later braking point so you can gain more time overall as a result of carrying more speed before the braking zone. - Example

Very nice. Tight to the kerb on the majority of the segments (where needed). Keep up the laps, amazing work and looking forward to see how you perform on the next assigned task.

Extra -

You are braking too early, and for too long, which is causing your speed to drop earlier than optimal under the braking zone, but then that speed is reduced significantly more at the apex due to the extended heavy braking. Try braking at a later point so you can carry more speed under braking, and release the brakes quicker as you approach the apex, so you can maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time overall as a result. - Example

Some more improvement is needed here before we move on. Too often, you are wide at the apex of the corner which costs you time. Really focus on getting as close to the inside kerb as possible, this will be the fastest way around most corners. If your racing line is incorrect then it will be almost impossible to get fast times so it's important we get this correct before moving on.

Extra -

In general, you are a braking a few meters too late and with too little pressure. This causes you to go wide and lose time. Bring your braking points back a little bit and use a bit more pressure to help get the car slowed down before the corner and hitting those apexes should be a lot easier. - example

You're doing really well, although there were a couple of instances where you just missed the mark. No worries though, it happens to the best of us! Something to keep in mind is that sometimes there are segments of the track where you don't need to brake at all. In those instances, simply lifting off the throttle can be enough to help you retain your speed and maintain control. Enjoy your apex work and don't be afraid to test the entry-apex-exit kerbs!

Extra -

In Turn 4 at Interlagos, you are braking too late, causing you to overshoot the corner as you are carrying too much speed, and costing you time on the exit as your exit speed is affected as a result. Try braking at an earlier point to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to maintain a higher minimum speed without worrying about going off track. - Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
