Through corners, your gear choice is correct however you are upshifting too late which costs you time down the straights and under acceleration. Give this assignment another go and see how you get on. Good luck and have fun!

Bonus Focus Point

Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 20-30 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

Great lap times again. You are producing exciting results. Your braking is very good, often you braking a little less i.e. not hitting 100% pressure compared to the reference lap, this would often be a problem but you are achieving this whilst also not being on the brakes for longer than the reference lap. One small point to note though, is that when you do need to brake to 100% you have room to do so a little more quickly. Make sure you take that power through to 100% instead of slowing the velocity of the brake pedal. It is important to note that this is on the engaging braking section not when you are starting to trail brake. Enjoy your next training session, this should be straight forward for you but remember to study the telemetry to find any flaws.

Extra -

You are applying the most brake pressure at the end of the braking, rather than at the start of your braking, costing you a lot of time as you are understeering into the corner due to the heavy braking while turning, causing you to have to drop to a lower gear to help with rotation, and steering harder to try stick to the apex. Try and brake hard in the initial part of your braking, and ease off the brakes as you approach the apex, which will gain you more time overall as a result. - Example

Very nice. Tight to the kerb on the majority of the segments (where needed). Keep up the laps, amazing work and looking forward to see how you perform on the next assigned task.

Extra -

You are entering the first part of the fast sweeping corners too quickly, causing you to have a much shallower run for the second part, meaning you are unable to get on throttle quick enough, and it compromises your exit as a result, costing you a significant amount of time. Try brake with more pressure to slow the car down more for the first part, to allow you to open the corner more for the second part, allowing you to carry more speed through the corner and gain more time overall. - Example

You're doing really well, although there were a couple of instances where you just missed the mark. No worries though, it happens to the best of us! Something to keep in mind is that sometimes there are segments of the track where you don't need to brake at all. In those instances, simply lifting off the throttle can be enough to help you retain your speed and maintain control. Enjoy your apex work and don't be afraid to test the entry-apex-exit kerbs!

Extra -

You are sometimes braking with too much brake pressure for a corner, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you time. Try applying less brake pressure so you can carry a higher minimum speed through the corner and gain more time overall. - Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
