Instructor Notes

19/06/2026
Nicely driven! You improved in these 4 key areas over the last few weeks. There will always to improvements and adjustments that you can make. It is all about fine tuning those braking points (there are some places where you're braking where you don't need to), racing line and throttle application. Your gears look good but always check back to the telemetry. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Bonus Focus Point

There are a few segments where you're extracting a lot of braking performance from the car, but there are others where your braking is not as good. This is a good example of that, here you're braking early, but holding the brakes at around 50% for too long. That'll slow you down too much and also cause understeer, since you'll be overloading the front tyres by braking too much while attempting to turn.
In fast corners like this one, prioritise light braking, allowing the car to settle down once you turn into the corner for maximum grip.
Good luck on track!

Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive whether you have the control choosing a different gear. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra -

You are steering too much, inducing a lot of understeer as the front tyres are scrubbing against the track, causing you to overshoot the corner and compromises your exit significantly, and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try steer towards the nature of the corner, allowing the car to rotate better and grip for the corner. Turning in full lock pushes the car to continue straight due to the amount of understeer and lack of grip being induced. - Example

We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

A little bit more work is needed here. Too often you are dropping into a gear too low for the corner, there is time left on the table when you are doing this. Try to remember the gearing choices of the reference lap and test where you are able to control the car better in this gear and you'll notice your segment deltas should be improving as well.

Extra - You are often a gear lower than the reference, sometimes even too gears lower. A lower gear costs you considerable time because it causes your speed to be significantly lower than optimal. A higher gear allows you to carry more speed through a corner. When you are two gears lower, you are significantly limiting that speed as the ideal speed is too quick for those lower gears. Have a look at the reference lap and see what gear is used for which corner. - Example

Please drive a track that is supported by the Track Titan Platform. There are plenty to choose from but unfortunately the ones you have been driving are not.

----------------------

27/02/2026
Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed.Ā The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.Ā  Good luck and have fun on track

Extra - You are braking too early and sometimes not enough brake pressure. Try to think what type of corner you are entering and how you can optimise by braking differently by also tweaking your racing line. Example

----------------------

13/02/2026
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.

Extra - To gain an edge, work on holding higher speeds through corners by delaying braking and keeping the throttle engaged longer. This approach will minimize the delta on corner exits, giving you a stronger drive onto the straights. As an example, maintaining steady throttle pressure through the apex can lead to a noticeable boost in exit momentum. Example

----------------------

30/01/2026
Your braking is too inconsistent. Sometimes you are showing good technique and other times your braking strength is not where it needs to be for that particular corner. This leads to other mistakes in your driving. Try to improve your consistency for the next assessment so we can move past this stage.

Extra - You're carrying less speed through the turn by missing the optimal apex. Make a habit of exploiting every inch of tarmac on the way in, at the clipping point, and on the way out when traction and stability allow it. Example

Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.

Extra - The primary problem right now is that you're easing off the accelerator too early rather than accelerating fully to maximum throttle. Consider tweaking your racing path a bit—aiming for a tighter approach to the apex should make a big difference. Example

Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready.

Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Extra - The goal is to make the corner as wide as possible to be able to carry more speed through it. To do that, you need to stay right on the edge of the track on the approach to the corner, stay wide until you reach a good turn-in point, then aim for the apex. On the exit the goal is usually the same: start accelerating near the apex and aim to go as wide as you can without going over the track limits. Don't be afraid to try to get on the kerbs, you can gain a lot of time by using them! Example

Finding the fastest way through a corner isn’t always about sticking to the line that feels ā€œjust right.ā€ Sometimes, pushing closer to the apex unlocks hidden speed. Imagine starting wide, aiming your entry toward the curb, and adjusting when you clip the apex—earlier or later, depending on the turn’s demands. On the exit, let the car drift naturally across the track, using every inch of space. Over time, these adjustments become automatic, and once they do, you can fine-tune your approach to shave off even more time.

Extra - Your car's speed through the corner suffers because you're not hugging the apex closely. Remember to leverage the full width of the track right from the entry, through the apex, and as you exit, particularly where your car feels stable. Example

----------------------

12/09/2025
There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb, sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and you'll get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements. Try to get a few more laps - a minimum of 20 really is needed to start to see improvements.

Extra - Even though your apexes were okay, it is important also to get the width on entry and exit from the corners, work on this as you look at the second aspect of your braking. Example

----------------------

29/08/2025
Very nice, your braking points are looking quite good, you have clearly got good reference markers. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks with regards to brake pressure and trail braking to improve lap time further. Take a look at the way the reference driver smoothly bleeds off the brakes when going into a corner. This is better for weight transfer and overall grip.

Extra - There are a few segments where you're carrying too much speed into the corner, while also turning-in quite early (example). That's costing you a lot of time on the corner exit. First, try to trust more on the car's downforce and grip when you first hit the brakes, try to hit 100% brake pressure. Then explore different turn-in points and reanalyse your telemetry to see how late or early you can turn into the corner.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track šŸ’Ŗ

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
