11/06/2026
As more skills are added to the combination assessments they naturally become harder. Essentially there are more areas where errors can be seen. You did an extremely good job last week and managed to pass. If you look back at your telemetry you'll be able to spot small improvements that are needed. For example, sometimes just a slight hesitation on the throttle as you accelerate, missing an apex, or some slightly inconsistent braking inputs.

Bonus Focus Point

We've observed that you could enhance your trail braking technique. Maintaining braking smoothness is key in racing to keeping the car balanced and maximising grip. You should apply the brakes sharply at first, but then release them gradually. Begin easing off the brakes right as you start turning into the corner, and continue this slow release as you increase the steering angle until you hit the apex. Here's an example.

Previous Instructor Notes

Welcome Back!

29/01/2026 - 13/02/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Extra -

No assessment.

----------------------

15/01/2026
Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.  Good luck and have fun on track

----------------------

01/01/2026
This is a pass. Sometimes you really hit the throttle perfectly. There are a few hesitations but in general you are on the right track. As always, it is about the consistency of this. It is common for throttle work to be a more evolved process. Trickier to master and stay focused. When you achieve a good acceleration point then you'll be half way to achieving the desired smooth acceleration with no lifting off. Now focus on speeding this up, but not too much that you need to lift off - find the sweet spot.

Extra - You often accelerate too late and that cost you a lot of time. You aren't as fast to 100% with your throttle which is affecting your top speed on the subsequent straight. Practice a fast but smooth acceleration all the way to 100% throttle using as much of the track exit as available so that you can have as straight a wheel as possible. This will allow the car to use most of it's power for forward acceleration. Example

----------------------

18/12/2025
There is still a little work needed here. In high speed corners, you are often lifting off the throttle where you can go flat. Other times you are lifting too early. Try this assignment again and remember to check back on the reference lap to see where you are losing time. Good luck!

Extra -

For future plans, could you please try and do some longer sessions as it's harder for us to get a fair assessment of your skill in short sessions.

Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 20-30 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

----------------------

06/10/2025
Please drive longer sessions. Aim for at least 10 laps per session to get a proper review, otherwise we cannot see your best efforts.

Extra - You've made good progress, but it's important to address your tendency to brake early. While being cautious is understandable, braking too early can lead to a loss of momentum, affecting your overall lap time. To optimise your performance, try to identify braking points that allow you to carry more speed into the corners. Gradually delay your braking to find the sweet spot where you're slowing down just enough without sacrificing speed. With practice, you'll find the right balance and see noticeable improvements in your lap times. Keep refining your technique—you've got this! Example

----------------------

04/09/2025
Nicely done, you show that consistency is there. Work on this more with more longer sessions of 20+ laps as ones concentration sometimes affects ones consistency in these longer sessions. This skill is important as you work towards your second Combination Assessment.

Extra - You've made good progress, but it's important to address your tendency to brake early. ----------------------

21/08/2025
There are some good times, however also too many invalid laps. I appreciate that this is inevitable when training but it is worth really focusing on this technique as nailing lap after lap without invalid laps is critical in a race situation. It can be the difference between a drive through or not. Slow you driving down a little and really concentrate on the consistency with valid laps. A racing drivers main skill has to be able to achieve similar lap times lap after lap. Drop your speed 10% and achieve these valid laps to move on with your training.

Extra - Your next step is to focus on increasing cornering momentum, particularly by pushing your braking points closer to the turn and maintaining throttle input longer. This will directly improve your exit speeds and reduce lap time deficits. For example, a smoother transition from braking to throttle can help you maintain flow through the corner. Example

----------------------

08/08/2025
Your racing lines are starting to look like you are understanding. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are still a few corners where you are entering too tight and exiting too narrow, which costs you minimum speed. It's just about a pass but lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.

Extra - By not aiming for the sharpest possible apex, you're losing precious speed mid-corner. It's crucial to make use of every bit of track space available at the entry, apex, and exit points where your vehicle maintains stability. Example

----------------------

24/07/2025
Your racing lines aren't taking full advantage of the track. Stay wide on the entry, don't drift towards the apex, wait for your turn in point then eyeball the apex and hug the apex kerb and then determine a good exit acceleration point to take advantage of the whole width on the track on exit. You normally manage to get two out of three parts correct. i.e. entry and apex or entry and exit but miss the apex. It is when you manage to hit all three is where you increase the radius of the corner and give the car the chance to carry faster speeds.

Extra - Your car's speed through the corner suffers because you're not hugging the apex closely. Remember to leverage the full width of the track right from the entry, through the apex, and as you exit, particularly where your car feels stable. Example

----------------------

26/06/2025
You mostly recorded race sessions, for this particular assignment we can't really make a good assessment from those sessions due to the many variables that can influence your driving during a race. There are many segments where you're not using enough track, aswell as others where you're doing great. We can't be sure if you're not, for example, overtaking another car.
Please record a few more time trial/practice sessions and we'll look into those. Thank you!

Extra - Your data is looking a bit patchy, so please make sure that your Track Titan logger is updated. You can use this link if you need any help 👉 Update Track Titan Logger 👈.
Also, there are quite a few segments where you're braking quite hard when you don't need to and it's making you slow down too much for the corner. Remember that in segments like this one, it's more important to brake earlier but keep the car stable and under control so you can carry more speed and have more grip throughout the whole segment.
Keep up the good work and good luck with your assignment!

----------------------

12/06/2025
You've got a solid foundation with your lines, though fine-tuning you could make them even sharper. Braking is usually on point, but there's potential in the chicanes for better acceleration. Aim for quick spurts of speed where you can, keeping in mind that how you exit these sections defines your success. Also, you're often using the apex kerbs well, but there were a couple of segments where you could have pushed it a bit further and aimed for a straighter line.
Above all, focus on your exit speed, as it's the key to better lap times.

Extra - You're often gaining a lot of time on the straights (example), that usually means that the wing angles on your car are lower than the reference lap's. We recommend that you increase your wing angles in the setup menu. You'll lose the advantage you're gaining on the straights in exchange for more grip and speed during the corners. Sure, it's great that you're gaining almost 0.5 seconds in the given example, but if you take a look at segment 2, you're losing a full second there due to the lack of grip. With more wing angle, you'll trade that extra straight line speed for a lot of gains throughout the rest of the track.
Try experimenting with those values and see how much the wing angle will affect your lap times.

----------------------

29/05/2025
Braking points are generally very good however there are some things to work on a little more. The mid chicane throttle work is lacking.  Have confidence to put your foot down mid chicane to squeeze in a little acceleration. It might feel insignificant but there is lots of time to be found here. Plan for your exit as well you are sometimes on and off the throttle with is stopping you getting to 100% throttle quickly.

15/05/2025
It is appears there is a conflict with your telemetry as there is very few sessions where telemetry is good enough to analyse. Unfortunately, we need to look for chicane work this time. Please could you ensure you are on the latest version of the Desktop App - Track Titan Desktop Logger - v.2.0.19 and that there is no other programs that could be conflicting with the data. Please try using Broadcast Mode OFF and entering your PCs IP address.

----------------------

02/05/2025
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra - You are often lifting off in high speed corners. This is a sign of lack of confidence and commitment. To be fast you have to trust the car and the downforce at speed. Try to stay flat in some of these corners - sometimes it is actually better for stability. Sometimes it is okay to lift slightly but do this on the way in, not on exit - it is better for momentum. Example

----------------------

18/04/2025
There were some promising moments, but also a few rough patches. The main hiccup was dialling in your braking—both in terms of timing and pressure. You seemed to have a hard time hitting that perfect braking sweet spot consistently. On the flip side, your gear selection really shined, a notable improvement from previous sessions where it was a weak link. Blending all these elements together is no small feat—it takes plenty of practice and patience. My tip? Focus on mastering one or two tracks until the nuances click. And don't forget to squeeze in some quick laps to catch any obvious slip-ups in your telemetry before they turn into bad habits.

Extra - Use the width of the track. Every opportunity to test the limits of the track should be used. There is room both on entry and exit to the corner to go wider. Example

----------------------

06/04/2025
Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link:
https://intercom.help/track-titan/en/articles/7964105-how-do-i-update-my-track-titan-logger

Extra - Biggest issue at the moment is that you are often dropping off the throttle instead of pushing through to 100% throttle, try adjusting your racing line slightly, a little tighter to the apex will really help. Example

----------------------

20/03/2025
You still need some work here, you're still often shifting too far down, sometimes two or more gears and that is costing you corner speed and sometimes stability too. Really try to go through the telemetry segment by segment and see which gear you should be using and where.

Extra - There are some segments where you need to use more track, sometiems on corner entry, others on corner exit or both. The goal is to make the corner as wide as possible to be able to carry more speed through it. To do that, you need to stay right on the edge of the track on the approach to the corner, stay wide until you reach a good turn-in point, then aim for the apex. On the exit the goal is usually the same: start accelerating near the apex and aim to go as wide as you can without going over the track limits. Don't be afraid to try to get on the kerbs, you can gain a lot of time by using them! - Example.

----------------------

06/03/2025
You've only recorded race sessions since your last turnover day. Unfortunately, we can't make a good assessment out of these sessions due to the many variables that can influence your driving during the race. Please record some more laps on practice or time trial sessions and we'll gladly make a better assessment. Thank you!

Extra - Your gear choice appears to be improving, but there are still some places where you're a gear too low (example). Try to check your recorded sessions from time to time to see how good your gear choices have been. You can also take some advantage in upshifting earlier during the straights, there are places where you're stretching your gears a lot (example).

We also noticed that your logger isn't on the latest version and this might be affecting your sessions that are being recorded.  This article explains how to upgrade to the latest version, if the system hasn't managed to automatically upgrade you.

----------------------

22/02/2025
You're losing time in the corners by downshifting too aggressively and low.  You have more speed available if you carry a higher gear.  Compare your gear selection to the reference lap and experiment with using a gear higher where you feel comfortable.  You should see your sector times improve as you find the right balance.
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link:

Extra - We've noticed that your trail braking can improve. In racing, being smooth is important to keep the car balanced and the grip levels high. While the first attack on the brakes is supposed to be very quick, releasing the brakes is a slow and smooth process. Try to start releasing the brakes at around the turn-in point and do it in a gradual motion until you reach the apex. Example

----------------------

13/02/2025
Please drive longer sessions. Aim for at least 10 laps per session to get a proper review, otherwise we cannot see your best efforts.
Please can you make sure you are on the latest logger via this link:

----------------------

30/01/2025
A bit more adjustment is needed here. You frequently shift into a gear that's too low for the corner, which costs you time. Reflect on the gear choices from the reference lap and experiment with maintaining control in those gears. This should help improve your segment times. Please try to do do longer sessions of at least 10 laps for best results

Extra - Here you are not coming fully off throttle which means you are working against the brake to slow the car down. This is not going to help your corner entry speed. Example

----------------------

We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.

Example

Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.

Extra - You are often lifting off in high speed corners. This is a sign of lack of confidence and commitment. To be fast you have to trust the car and the downforce at speed. Try to stay flat in some of these corners - sometimes it is actually better for stability. Example

There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb, sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and you'll get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements. Try to get a few more laps in a minimum of 20 really is needed to start to see improvements.

Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - In corners like these you want to be staying flat if you can, espeically if you can make the apex. Here you are a little wide at the kerb which could have been the difference. Example

----------------------

05/07/2024
Please do more laps. You need between 30 to 50 to really see how you're doing. Our trainers are here to help whenever. Good luck and have fun out there! Most of your sessions are too short to analyse.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
