We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.  Good luck and have fun on track

Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.

Extra -

You are braking too early, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result as you cannot attack the chicane at the same speed as the reference lap. Try adjusting to a later braking point so you can carry more speed under braking, allowing you to have more speed into the chicane, and gaining you more time overall as a result. - Example

----------------------

30/04/2026
Good control through the chicanes. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good and your mid chicane acceleration is great. Also try to be quicker getting on the throttle on the exits (not just in chicanes). Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds.

Extra -

You are sometimes braking too lightly into corners, causing you to carry too much speed and overshoot the corner slightly, compromising your exit and costing you time. Try applying a bit more brake pressure to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to clip the apex and maintain a higher minimum speed overall, gaining you time. - Example

Please drive more road tracks. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment with you only driving ovals. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready. Good luck and have fun on track!!

Please drive a track like Zolder so we can analyse your driving in a multitude of different corner/chicane types. Great driving otherwise. Once we tick this box we will be onto the next one in no time.

Extra -

Currently, the main challenge is your tendency to back off the throttle instead of committing to full 100% acceleration. A small adjustment to your line, hugging the apex more closely, will greatly improve this. Example

Hi, apologies for the delay. In general, you need to use more kerb in the chicanes. Currently you aren't using as much through both corners which costs you lots of time. GIve this assignment another go and see how you get on.

Extra -

Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 20-30 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

Please drive a track like Zolder so we can analyse your driving in a multitude of different corner/chicane types. Great driving otherwise. Once we tick this box we will be onto the next one in no time.

Extra -

You are often lifting off too much in high speed corners. This is a sign of lack of confidence and commitment. To be fast you have to trust the car and the downforce at speed. Try to maintain less of a liftt in some of these corners - sometimes it is actually better for stability. Example

----------------------

05/02/2026
Braking points are generally very good however there are some things to work on a little more. The mid chicane throttle work is lacking.  Have confidence to put your foot down mid chicane to squeeze in a little acceleration. It might feel insignificant but there is lots of time to be found here. Plan for your exit as well you are sometimes on and off the throttle with is stopping you getting to 100% throttle quickly.

Extra -

Here you turn in too late. This means your entry is compromised because you have to use a tighter radius. For corners where exits onto the straight are critical you want to be apexing later like this but not here where there is a corner following. Example

----------------------

22/01/2026
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited, and the majority of the racing skills learned have been displayed across multiple segments. There are some areas where improvements are needed, which will lower your lap times. Firstly, work on refining your cornering techniques. Mastering this will significantly benefit your overall performance. Secondly, there are several instances where your gear choice could be improved. Learning truly comes from driving, analysing, and then driving again until you feel you've reached a plateau, then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible

Extra -

There is a big gap between lifting off and braking in most corners. This is useful if you are trying to save fuel but it won't help your lap times. Consider tightening this up to shave those hundredths. Example

----------------------

08/01/2026
Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....

Extra -

Delay getting on the throttle too early, this is causing you to understeer and in turn forcing you to lift off the throttle. Wait a little, then be quicker and smoother with the throttle pedal. Example

----------------------

25/12/2025
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.

Extra -

Your throttle work needs to be smoother and a little faster. Sometimes as you approach the apex you are already on the throttle, this can be too early and causing you to hesitate, try a few laps were you wait for the apex then really go for the acceleration. Example

----------------------

11/12/2025
Your racing lines are good. There are still some places we can work on over the next couple weeks. There were a few corners where you were trying to take a later apex, however this actually slowed you down because the following straight wasn't long enough. Remember to check back with the reference lap to see where you are losing time!

Extra - You are braking a bit too early in most corners. Try to push those braking points back a couple meters to find time. Have a look at the reference laps brake shape in this example, what do they do differently to you? You use a bit too much pressure on initial brake application, while they use less but hold it at the same pressure for longer before lifting off. Try this brake technique for a few laps and see how you get one. Good luck!

----------------------

27/11/2025
Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - You are steering too much into corners which causes understeer. This is because you exceed the limit of the tyres which causes them to slide. Let's try turning the wheel 10-15 degrees less, and focus on straightening the wheel earlier on corner exit. - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
