Instructor Notes

19/06/2026
Please drive more road tracks. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment with you only driving ovals. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready. Good luck and have fun on track!!

Bonus Focus Point

Here you go too wide on exit. Getting onto the exit kerb here both is the longer path but also gives you poor traction. Try your best to keep tighter and get the power down on the tarmac. Example

Good control through the chicanes. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good and your mid chicane acceleration is great. Also try to be quicker getting on the throttle on the exits (not just in chicanes). Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds.

Extra -

You are holding the brakes for too long, causing your speed to drop significantly more than optimal by the time you reach the apex and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try releasing the brakes quicker so you can maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time overall. - Example

Please drive a circuit that has a chicane on it so that we can look at your chicane skills and assess your latest plan. Zolder is a great track to try out a number of different styles of chicanes.

Please drive a track like Zolder so we can analyse your driving in a multitude of different corner/chicane types. Great driving otherwise. Once we tick this box we will be onto the next one in no time.

Your assessment was meant to be Combination Assessment 1:
Nicely driven! You improved in these 4 key areas over the last few weeks. There will always to improvements and adjustments that you can make. It is all about fine tuning those braking points, racing line and throttle application. Your gears look decent but always check back to the telemetry. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra -

On the exit of the long hairpin at Summit Point Raceway, you are taking many lifts off the throttle when you could take the corner flat. This causes your speed to accelerate slower than optimal, and costs you a bit of time. Try and take these corners flat out instead of hesitating with the throttle and losing free time. - Example

----------------------

27/03/2026
Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you nailed this. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck!

Extra -

Be careful with how much pressure you apply on the brakes. In the fast chicane at Lime Rock Park, you braked too hard, which slowed the speed of your car significantly, costing you time. Try braking with a bit less pressure so you can carry a higher minimum speed through the corner. - Example

----------------------

11/03/2026
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.

Extra - You're not maximising mid-corner velocity because the car isn't hugging the apex tightly enough. Always aim to use the full track limits—wide entry, precise apex touch, wide exit—wherever the car is settled and under control. Example

Hi apologise for the delay. Super close to a pass but a little more work is needed before we move on. Have a look at the advice bellow and give this assignment another go. Remember to check back with the reference lap. Good luck and have fun!

Extra - Sometimes, it's better to brake a bit earlier with less pressure, but for longer. This allows for better weight transfer and avoids unsettling the car. There were a few corners like this but you were braking heavily and quickly. You found a bit of time under braking but lost time in the corner. Try to copy the reference laps brake shape for a bit and see how you get on. - example

We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Good job with your apexes. They're looking really good. There were one or two times you were a little (only a little) bit wide at the apex but nothing major. Try to use more kerb in some places to see if you can cut off more distance.

Extra - You are turning the wheel too much in some corners which means you get understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

----------------------

15/01/2026
Very nice, your braking points are really good, although you're a bit early at times, you have clearly got good reference markers. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks with regards to brake pressure and trailbraking to improve lap time further. Take a look at the way the reference driver smoothly bleeds off the brakes when going into a corner. This is better for weight transfer and overall grip.

Extra - You're usually going into the corners a bit too slow, but are compensating well by accelerating early on the exit (example).
Try to find that extra speed by delaying the acceleration on exit and gradually trail braking deeper into the corner. You'll be slower on the apex, but the faster entry will compensate for that.
Good luck!

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
