Instructor Notes

20/05/2026 - 16/06/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Previous Instructor Notes

We only have 3 laps of the Nordschleife to analyse, but unfortunately some of that data is corrupted and we can't make a good assessment from it. Please make sure your Track Titan logger is up to date and try to record a few more clean laps. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready. Good luck and have fun on track!!

Extra -

In the Nordschleife there are a lot of areas with very little straight track between each corner, so you need to take that into account in each segment. This often times means that you'll need to sacrifice some exit speed after an apex so you can position the car better to approach the following corner and maximize exit speed there. This is a good example of where you can do that and gain some crucial time.

----------------------

20/04/2026
Your braking still lacks consistency. On some laps you're hitting the marks well with good modulation, but in others the pressure is either too light or too heavy for the corner, which then triggers mistakes later in the turn. Work on making your braking more repeatable in the next session—if we can lock that in, we'll be ready to move on to the next phase.

Extra -

You are braking too late into corners, causing you to overshoot the corner and having to apply more pressure to avoid running off track, costing you significant time on the exit. Try braking at an earlier point to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time. - Example

Extra -

You are often applying too much brake pressure into corners, causing your speed to be significantly lower than optimal. Try apply less pressure on the brakes so you can maintain a higher minimum speed through the corner and gain more time. - Example

----------------------

25/03/2026
Some more work is needed here. Currently, you are holding the brakes for too long with too much pressure. In high speed corners this means you are way too slow round the turn and costs you lots of time.

Extra -

Currently, you are trying to find time by getting on the throttle early. This is causing you to run wide on exit. If you delay your throttle application by a few meters, you can then apply the accelerator much faster without running wide and find time. - example

----------------------

10/03/2026
You apexes are ok. Close to the kerb in most corners, but there were times where you were wide at the apex. We'll move onto the next skill now. Good luck and have fun!

Extra -

Often, you are slowing the car down more than you need to which costs you losts of time. This is either because you are lifting for too long or using too much brake pressure through the corner. - example

Please drive more road tracks. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment with you only driving ovals. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready. Good luck and have fun on track!!

Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra -

You often accelerate too late and that cost you a lot of time. You aren't as fast to 100% with your throttle which is affecting your top speed on the subsequent straight. Practice a fast but smooth acceleration all the way to 100% throttle using as much of the track exit as available so that you can have as straight a wheel as possible. This will allow the car to use most of it's power for forward acceleration. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
