Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Bonus Focus Point

You are braking too early and lightly, causing your speed to drop earlier than optimal and costing you a considerable amount of time as a result. Try braking later and harder, so you can carry more speed under braking, but also to slow down the extra speed more efficiently, gaining you more time overall. - Example

Please drive more road tracks. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment with you only driving ovals. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready. Good luck and have fun on track!!

Very nice. Tight to the kerb on the majority of the segments (where needed). Keep up the laps, amazing work and looking forward to see how you perform on the next assigned task.

Extra -

In the final corner at Watkins Glen, you are braking with way too much pressure, causing your speed to be significantly slower than optimal at the apex and on the exit, costing you a considerable amount of time. Try braking with a lot less pressure, so you can carry a higher minimum speed through the corner and gain more time as a result. - Example

There are times when you hit the apex perfectly, nice and tight with a good line out of the corner. However, there are too many times when you are not pushing this enough and there is still room to get tighter on the apex. Remember start wide on the entry kerb, sight your apex (late or early apex) and then accelerate so that you need to use the full width of the track. A little more practice and you'll get that feeling for each corner. At that point more experimentation can be done to tweak for small improvements. Try to get a few more laps - a minimum of 20 really is needed to start to see improvements.

Extra -

You are not steering quick enough into the corner, which causes you to miss the apex and steer more mid-corner, which affects your speed significantly on the exit. Try turning the wheel quicker, and aim to point your car towards the apex. Have a look at the reference lap to see the steering rotation of their lap in comparison to your lap so you can get an idea of what it should look like. - Example

Sometimes, you nail the perfect line through a corner—clean, precise, and with a strong exit. But often, there’s untapped potential to hug the apex even closer. Begin by approaching wide at the entry curb, locking in on your apex (whether late or early), and then powering out in a way that naturally uses the track’s full width. With more laps under your belt, this process will start to feel instinctive. Once you’re consistent, you can refine further, making minor adjustments to shave off extra time. Aim for at least 20 laps to truly settle into a rhythm and see meaningful progress.

Extra -

Your throttle application is delaying your acceleration phase, impacting your straight-line speed. Maximise throttle input earlier to optimise top speed for the next straight. Focus on swift and seamless throttle control, utilising track space efficiently to maintain straight alignment for maximal power transfer and acceleration efficiency. Example

Good job with your braking points. For the most part, they were really good. In highspeed corners, make sure that you're not braking too early and slowing down too much before the corner. We'll move onto the next skill now. Good luck and have fun!

Extra -

Often, you are applying the throttle too early which causes you to go wide mid corner and corner exit. This costs you time through the corner, on the straight afterward and can also overheat tyres and increase tyre wear. Have a look at the reference lap in this linked segment (example) and compare your throttle inputs.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
