Instructor Notes

27/03/2023 - 16/06/2026
We are ready to assess your combination assessment. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data, between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length). Remember consistency is really important now

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😊

13/03/2023
The logger appears to have upgraded to the latest version now. Please drive more laps and we'll be able to do an assessment for your Combination Assessment 2.
---------------------

23/01/2023 - 06/03/2023
Please get in touch with keith@tracktitan.io as he wants to know if you are using the study plans, as you stopped the race plans a while ago. Thanks and we'll continue when we hear from you.

Many facets to explore as you are bringing your lap times down. First off, you did really well and only narrowly missed passing this Combination assessment on your first try. It was mainly the gear choice that was your biggest issue. On most of your worse segments across multiple laps it was the gear choice that was the major factor that was causing the slowest segment times. Tackle these this gear issue and you are looking good for a pass.
---------------------

09/01/2023
This is always going to be a tricky skill to learn, especially when you are learning new tracks but you did a fantastic job. When you got 'in the groove' you were churning out lap after lap. Both at speed and also very consistently. There were a couple of tracks where you had too many invalid laps in a row but the general approach, the number of laps and the quality was very good. As will all these plans and skills try to remember and build on it for the next assignment.

This will be your second combination assessment. All skills learnt to date. Very hard to pass first time but enjoy the process and concentrate on a couple of your favourite tracks to really show your skills.
---------------------

02/01/2023
Great lines, you have taken this onboard and most of the segments were using a good racing line. Sometimes you stay a little safe and miss out on some extra width. It is less risky but there lateral forces will be greater at this stage and using the full width of the track earlier can help.
---------------------

26/12/2022
This was a narrow pass. There were many good segments but don't let this slip when you get your next plan. Be patient when you get on the throttle because too early will mean that you'll need to come off the throttle. This is inevitably causing you to get to 100% gas slower. Be patient and then be aggressive.
---------------------

18/12/2022
Your line and braking were very good in the chicanes. Sometimes your braking point was a little early, this was losing you time. Try to take advantage of a bit more throttle through the middle section of a chicane where possible. Your exit speed as been good but there is still room for improvement.
---------------------

11/12/2022
In order to assess your chicane skill we need to see you on a track with a chicane. Great number of laps committed to the Red Bull Ring however please jump on a track like Monza, Imola or Barcelona to practice your chicanes. We'll put one more week into this to see if there is an improvement.
---------------------

04/12/2022
You've improved some sections of the chicane but others are still failing. It is the middle section of the chicane where you need to be more aggressive, quick footwork and get on the throttle hard in the middle part of the chicane. You'll be surprised how much time can be made here.

We'll move onto the next technique but remember to push and learn from the chicane where that you were doing.
---------------------

27/11/2022
There are some good parts and some not so good parts. You really need to be careful that you don't drop into too low a gear in the chicane as you are losing a significant amount of time whilst doing this. Also, remember to brake hard into the corner for a tight chicane, sometimes you are a little bit tentative. Finally, it is important that the exit of the chicane is generally where the most amount of time is found. Plan the exit, test the kerb and get your foot down as quickly as you can. Your racing lines throughout the chicane were good. In summary, don't forget the fundamentals and quick reactions in all phases of the chicane are required.
---------------------

20/11/2022
A nice surprise here. Your racing lines were greatly improved which really showed in your lap times. Your biggest problem is your gear choice. Work hard on this and you'll see another jump in performance. Read through the old comments below again as they will really help you address this technical skill which should be straight forward to developer. Even if the car sounds like dropping a gear would help you'll be happy to try staying that one gear higher on the majority of corners.

Please provide any feedback to keith@tracktitan.io now that you've completed this first milestone. Next up is your first "special" training skill. Let's take a look at chicanes.
---------------------

13/11/2022
Unfortunately there is no improvement from last week. There are too many times where you are dropping into too lower gears. Your times will be affected by this. We will move on to your next training session as dwelling too long on one item won't really help. Just remember to actively try to resolve these issues with the gears.

Your next session will also require you to improve on the gearing. You must cement all your skills together, look through all the previous plans to practice achieving a high standard across more than one technique.
---------------------

06/11/2022
A little work is needed here. Dropping into too lower gear can be very costly on your lap times. Also, there are a number of times when you appear to be over revving the engine pushing the car just a little to hard. This has the adverse effect of often meaning the car isn't getting the optimal amount of torque. Try to remember all the segment gear choices of the reference lap. Write them down if you need to. Remember the sequence of lowest gear through each corner and for a set of 5-10 laps try to replicate this.
---------------------

30/10/2022
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily. The tricky skill is to still apply fast braking but not braking with too much pressure. It is very hard to brake fast but control that speed so you don't slow the car too much. Fast braking but only to approximately 50% pressure is a skill that you should continually practice for fast corners.

Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
---------------------

23/10/2022
Well done, a significant improve over last week. Even though this is marginally under the assessment pass mark, we want to move you onto the next assessment. Remember each racing skill is developed upon the last so please look through your previous plans and always strive to improve these key racing techniques.

Enjoy next weeks training.
---------------------

16/10/2022
You need to get tighter on those apexes. Try to focus further ahead on the track. Not just in front of the car but actually towards the corner and try to really pinpoint where the apexes are. As mentioned before don't be afraid to use the kerb, just remember that aggressive steering or accelerating whilst on the kerb can be dangerous. Each kerb is different due to texture, angle, shape and track inclination. Keep practicing and good luck. 🍀

09/10/2022

Really nice driving. Your nailing the braking points and consistently as well. There was only a couple of segments which were less than ideal so make sure that you regularly check back to the reference lap to so if there is any room to move / adjust your braking points.

Enjoy the 'Hitting the Apex' assessment. Don't be afraid to use the kerbs wherever possible.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Each week you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls each week and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, each week you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, on this day you'll be able to see your feedback from the instructors, your score for the assigned task and your progress.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this skill as much as you can in the next seven days, remember referring back to the reference lap will help you learn how early you need to break for each corner.

Enjoy the training.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
