This is still an hard area for you and more practice is needed. Slow your speed down a little (you can coast mid corner to gently slow your car) and then ensure that when you accelerate it is smooth without lifting off the throttle at all. When you have mastered this as a slower speed and get the feeling for a continual smooth acceleration then you can move back up to full race pace and try to control your acceleration again.
Also, avoid touching the throttle before the apex, that can often lead to going wide or having a slower where you need to lift off to avoid going off the track.
Extra - You're sometimes turning a bit too late into the corners and end up missing apexes due to that. Some inconsistency on the brakes is also not helping since reapplying the brakes on the turn-in often means that you'll understeer in the corner. Try to turn a bit early, don't forget to use the whole width of the track and experiment a bit with the car's weight distribution. In a car like the MX-5, turning under braking and making the rear a bit lighter can help rotate the car, but beware because the car has a tendency to spin under those conditions.
Here's a good example for you to analyse.

Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track! Please also try to make the sessions at least 10 laps. That way we know you are getting a hang of the track and car.
Extra - In this example you understeered in the mid-corner. This was as a result of you coming off the brakes too early (twice) and not getting the car slowed down enough for the apex. Try to blend off the brakes only once. Example

Impressively consistent race times, showcasing your dedication and skill. This consistent performance is a crucial asset as you prepare for your upcoming Combination Assessment. Keep up the great work, it's evident that you're on the right track towards achieving your goals.

30/11/2023
Nothing has fundamentally changed at the moment, please perform longer sessions on race circuits as this where you are finding your lap times the hardest.
Extra - You are drifting towards the corner this is tightening the corner and those reducing your corner speed. Instead, stay wider longer and then turn in sharper to straighten the car for a good fast exit out of the corner - example

----------------------
16/11/2023
Please follow the training plan, all the sessions are race or quali. It is important to put in time trial sessions with longer sessions, 10-15 laps. A quiet track, where you are purely working on your speed is such a good way of learning and improving.
Extra - Too slow on the throttle at the moment. It is important to push to 100% as quickly as possible. As you do you'll start to push the limits of the car and begin to understand the limits of the car. Don't play it safe, push until you fail - example

Extra - Work on longer sessions to improve your consistency, this is purely a time on track exercise to ensure that you can maintain a consistent lap time over multiple laps, instead of being a one lap wonder - example
----------------------
19/10/2023
The invalid laps are still there. A few is fine but there are too many sessions with too many invalid laps. Sure this isn't a big deal for hotlapping but as soon as you get in a race situation you'll start to have real problems. Work through this, do sets of 5-10 laps and there should be no more than one or two invalid laps in these sessions.
Extra -You are braking too early and not staying wide enough on the exit. Exit speed is so important and finding and using the exit as much as possible will knock time off your laps. The more laps you manage to put in the better you'll become and sensing these limits - example
---------------------
12/10/2023
Please complete at least 20-30 laps for us to be able to give you a fair assessment of your skills at consistency.
Extra - Avoid on / off motion on the brake, try to aspire to a consistent, solid pressure gain - example

----------------------
14/09/2023
There are some good times, however also too many invalid laps. I appreciate that this is inevitable when training but it is worth really focusing on this technique as nailing lap after lap without invalid laps is critical in a race situation. It can be the difference between a drive through or not.Slow you driving down a little and really concentrate on the consistency with valid laps. A racing drivers main skill has to be able to achieve similar lap times lap after lap. Drop your speed 10% and achieve these valid laps to move on with your training.
Extra - There is too long a gap between your throttle and braking action, left foot braking would cause this, other if you are already rigth foot braking, try to speed up this action to avoid any coasting action - example
----------------------
07/09/2023
There is potential here but not enough sessions with 8+ laps. Consistency will come and it will have the added benefit of more control, understanding and the ability to avoid making errors.
Extra - Your apex work needs to be tighter and try to avoid braking in segments that can be taken flat out - example
----------------------
31/08/2023
Consistency is a critical component of success in sim racing, and it can make all the difference between finishing first and falling behind the pack. When you're consistent, you're able to maintain a high level of performance throughout the race and avoid costly mistakes that can cost you time and positions. So, how can you improve your consistency? The key is to practice regularly and focus on developing good habits. Make a conscious effort to drive at a consistent pace, hitting the same braking points and taking the same lines through each turn. Pay attention to your lap times and try to identify areas where you can improve. Take special care to avoid those invalid lap. Time penalties can be a killer in a race. Another important factor is staying focused and avoiding distractions. Try to eliminate any external factors that can disrupt your concentration, such as noise or interruptions. And don't forget to take care of yourself - getting enough rest, staying hydrated, and eating well can all help you maintain your focus and energy levels. Finally, don't be too hard on yourself if you do make a mistake or have a bad race. Everyone has off days, and the key is to learn from your mistakes and keep pushing yourself to improve. With practice, dedication, and a positive attitude, you can become a more consistent and successful sim racer. Try to put in more laps in sessions 8-15 laps to work on this.
Good luck out there on the track!
Extra - Control sharp swings with the steering wheel and seemingly unnecessary lifts off the throttle. Test and if you fail no worries, just try again to take the corner without lifting - example
----------------------
24/08/2023
There is currently an issue with your data please make sure you are using the latest version 1.14.15 and if you are still experiencing issues please contact keith@tracktitan.io
----------------------
17/08/2023
Great lines, you have taken this onboard and most of the segments were using a good racing line. Sometimes you stay a little safe and miss out on some extra width. It is less risky but the lateral forces will be greater at this stage and using the full width of the track earlier can help.
Extra - Work on your braking, create as smooth a braking phase as possible. If there is a lot of on/off the brakes then the car will be unsettled and make it less responsive in the corners - example
β
β----------------------
10/08/2023
Please check the list of supported tracks and we will be ready to analyse and advise on your sessions.
Extra - No assessment.
----------------------
03/08/2023
This will be the last time, that we will test you on that assessment. Try to get wider on entry and exit at the moment you are playing it a little bit safe. Explore whether you can brake whilst slightly touching the kerb, the same with accelerating straight on the exit kerb. Is the braking safe? Try hard to find that extra width it will help you maintain your corner speed.
Extra - Consistent throttle control optimizes traction, preventing wheel spin and maintaining stable handling for faster lap times. - example

----------------------
20/07/2023
This training assessment plan is an extension of the apex work that you looked and back in February. The racing line is so important when you are trying to develop and improve your laps times so it is really worth concentrating on this and
Extra - Perform sessions with 5-10 laps and really just concentrate on your racing line. Compare to reference lap, take particular note of the width during entry., the turn in point, whether they are late or early apexing, the acceleration point and the width and steering angle on exit. Get a good hold and these and you'll be on the move again - example
----------------------
13/07/2023
Unfortunately there aren't enough laps driven on Kuno car / track combinations. We are ready to help when we have the laps that are needed to review your sessions. Five laps or more on a couple of Kunos combos is all that is needed (more would be better!) to help you.
----------------------
07/07/2023
Normally we would move on at this stage but there are significant improvements needed here. Look at your line, compare against the reference lap and you'll start to see that we are able to use much more of the track to your advantage. If you traing smart you'll have the tools to move onto your next plan as a good racing line is fundamental to improvement. Good luck!
Extra - Here is a good example of how you need to improve your entry into a corner - example
----------------------
29/06/2023
There are still improvements needed. Entry kerb - apex kerb - exit kerb as a general rule will show you where you are able to use more track to test getting the car through the corners at a higher speed. Use the kerb, you don't have to heavily ride it, just brush against them to get the feeling of how wide you can go. It is mainly your entry to the corner where you just need to be slightly wider. Take a marker from the car and try and align yourself to the absolute limits of the track width.
Extra - Avoid doing one lap session, get in a routine of developing as you perform 5+ laps on track. Also make sure to look for section where you don't need lift at all - extra
----------------------
23/06/2023
Your racing lines aren't taking full advantage of the track, sometimes they are getting close but you need to work on your exit line a little. Stay wide on the entry, don't drift towards the apex, wait for your turn in point then eyeball the apex and hug the apex kerb and then determine a good exit acceleration point to take advantage of the whole width on the track on exit. You normally manage to get two out of three parts correct. i.e. entry and apex or entry and exit but miss the apex. It is when you manage to hit all three is where you increase the radius of the corner and give the car the chance to carry faster speeds.
β
Extra - Try to achieve as smooth as braking as possible. Imagine you are squeezing the brake pedal not jabbing at it. This will allow your car to be more balanced and distribute the weight across all four tyres better - example
β----------------------
15/06/2023
We've noticed that quite a few of your laps aren't recording or are non supported tracks. The current version for PCΒ is v1.14.6 please make sure you are on the latest version and drive Kunos combos so that we can ensure everything is fine. Any issues please reach out to keith@tracktitan.io to help you.
----------------------
02/06/2023 - 08/06/2023
More work is definitely needed on your racing lines, please re-read last weeks notes and the more time your can spend on a Kunos combo the best so a more thorough analysis can be done. This week was only four laps that can be analysed and this isn't enough to give a good instruction.
Extra - Braking and then coming off your brakes is forcing you deep into the corner and you are losing a heap for time - exampleβ
----------------------
25/05/2023
Your racing lines aren't taking full advantage of the track.
Extra - Keep on working on your racing line, you are getting too many invalid laps at the moment. Plan your entry-apex-exit location then develop from this increase your speed. If you go off track, miss your braking points then drop back on the pace and try again. It is advisable to stick with just one or two tracks and really get to learn them well - example
β----------------------
11/05/2023 - 18/05/2023
Please complete at least 10-20 laps in a session on a Kunos car/track combo
β
We are ready to assess your racing line assessment. Please provide us more than 4 laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data, between 20-40 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).
The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. π
----------------------
04/05/2023
Similar errors to your last chicane work. AΒ racing line that forces you to make excessive steering angles will play havoc with your lap times. We'll move on for the moment but work had every time you have a chicane and try your best to improve your line through the chicane. Remember, it is OKΒ to give up a little time in the first half of the chicane so that you have a far better exit.
Extra - Work on your basics again, racing line with a wide entry as well as a smooth braking phase are so important to get consistently good segment deltas - example
β----------------------
27/04/2023
Please complete at least 10-20 laps in a session on a Kunos car/track combo
β
We are ready to assess your combination assessment. Please provide us more than 4 laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data, between 20-40 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).
The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. π
----------------------
20/04/2023
Throttle work is generally very good however there are some things to work on a little more. The braking points are causing you to go too deep into the corner. Remember it is so important to plan for the exit from the chicane, thus is it OKΒ to sacrifice a little on entry. It might feel insignificant but there is lots of time to be found here.
Extra - Watch out for this on/off motion on braking, a lot of time can be wasting by not optimising your braking - example---------------------
β
13/04/2023
Great to see small improvements here. There are a number of areas where we will be able to improve your times but what is important at the moment is that your braking, apex and gear choices are generally very good. As we move on, it is necessary to understand the uses of the lessons that you have learnt and try to avoid letting any bad habits slip into your driving. Well done.
Extra - Lifting in sections there you can drive at full power really adds time to your laps, try to find these obvious locations and practice adjusting your racing line or even just having confidence to remain on the throttle - example
----------------------
07/04/2023
Please complete at least 10-20 laps in a session on a Kunos car/track combo
β
We are ready to assess your combination assessment. Please provide us more than 4 laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. π
Extra - Over braking into corners is the biggest reason that your lap times are suffering at the moment. Brake at the same braking point each time and with force to slow you as quickly as possible - example
β
β----------------------
30/03/2023
There are good aspects to your sessions however it is important to bring these together and achieve a good standard in all 4 disciplines at the same time. Often you are too wide on the apex or braking too early. Try to focus on these four skills and prove that you can bring them all into line at the same time. It is very important that you refer back to your telemetry and analyse where you are making error. This is the quickest and best way to develop as a driver.
β
Extra - Work on your racing line. Improvements to consistency are still possible. The happy three of wide entry, tight apex and wide exit are a great place to explore if small changes are needed to your racing line - example
----------------------
02/03/2023 - 23/03/2023
Please complete at least 10 laps in a session on a Kunos car/track combo
β

You show a fast and smooth braking phase until you slow your car to the required speed. These skills that you are learning need to be thought about all the time. Each and every you enter and exit a corner. Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily. Also, a couple of times you just rest a little on the pedal before your braking point and thus slow the car down just a little.
----------------------
16/02/2023
Good corner gear choices. It is often the case that people change down too far in a belief that it will be faster however, you only occasionally do this. It is allows worth popping back to the telemetry to check whether your gear choices are on the mark or not.
---------------------
09/02/2023
Well done, nicely done. You still have some room for improvement, try a late apex instead of an early apex. If you feel you are understeering then most likely your corner entry was too fast. Keep on pushing yourself and using the full width of the track to achieve maximum speed on a corner. It really shows that when you do multiple laps on the same track, you achieve your best results. Sometime it is just one segment that it letting you down, keep an eye on the segment breakdown to spot these errors.
β
Good luck in the next challenge, remember each assigned task builds on the next, so always concentrate on nailing the braking points and hitting your apexes.

Well done, but only just. Some segments were perfect but it was a bit inconsistent. Also, keep a close eye on segments where no braking at all is required. Often just lifting off the throttle is enough and a much better way to retain your speed. Try not to drag the brake, only touch the brake when you are committing to the braking point, resting your foot on the brake will lead to slower lap times.

Enjoy your apex work and don't be afraid to test the entry-apex-exit kerbs!

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Each week you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls each week and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, each week you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, on this day you'll be able to see your feedback from the instructors, your score for the assigned task and your progress.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next seven days. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed throughout the week. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know.
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
