Instructor Notes

20/03/2026 - 14/06/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Sorry for the delay on the update.
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - We noticed you have a lot of invalid laps in your sessions mostly due to exceeding track limits (example). On your practice sessions, fosus more on being consistent, doing clean laps and less on pushing for fast lap times.
By driving slightly slower, you'll focus on getting your technique right and on being smoother. By doing that, with time your lap times will improve without you feeling like you're doing a lot of effort. Then, once you really need to drive on the limit, you'll also be able to do it safer and with less mistakes.
Good luck!

Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready.

Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can slowly tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are nailing the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up!

Extra - In lower power cars like the MX-5, you need to prioritize maintaining momentum during the corner since it needs a bit of time to accelerate back up to speed (example). With that in mind, often times it's better to brake earlier and lighter to keep the car under control and avoid losing too much corner speed.
On the given example in particular, you also need to delay the acceleration on the exit to open the entry into the hairpin on segment 5, so braking earlier and keeping the car stable is even more important there.

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Very nice, your braking points are looking quite good. As you develop, we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress.  Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Extra - Try to mimic the reference lap's racing line in this segment. You can treat these two corners almost as a single double apex corner. Be smooth and careful on the brakes, apex early and that'll allow you to let the car run wide between the two apexes, maintaining more momentum throughout the corner. Light touches on the brakes and smooth steering will enable you to play with the car's weight balance and rotate it towards the final apex and a fast exit.
Keep trying and see how your lap time changes. Good luck!

Extra - So far, from your short session at Summit Point Raceway, your braking points are looking quite nice. One thing you can take into account for the future, you're sometimes carrying too much speed at the mid-corner phase (near the apex), this then makes you slower on the exit since you need more time to reach full throttle to avoid going wide. Be patient, try to avoid pressing the throttle too early in the corner (before the apex) and try to carry the brakes a bit further into the corner to help you carry some speed at the entry while also slowing down for the apex. Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track 💪

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
