We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).
The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. đ

There were quite a few errors that need addressing. With this second combination assessment we are now looking at eight different factors that make up your driving prowess. Firstly look closely at your gear choices, has there were times that you drop into too low a gear. This will be impacting your lap times significantly. Braking points were considerably early. Most importantly though we were on and off the brake far too much. It is so important to analyse your sessions. Without this analysis you'll always be second guessing how you are performing on track. The top drivers will be looking for small errors and keep of testing changes to the lines and braking technique to see if they can save time on a corner.
Extra -
You are still using both pedals at the same time in the braking zone. Due to an early braking, you are constantly releasing the brakes and applying full throttle several times in the braking zone in order to carry some speed into the corner, which is costing you a considerable amount of time rather than gaining you time. Have a look at the reference lap again, and make sure you are only using one pedal, not both. Brake at a later point and keep the brake pressure consistent, easing off as you reach the apex. This will gain you more time overall as a result. Try have a look at the reference lap telemetry patterns, and give this another go. - Example
----------------------
11/05/2026
Some work needs to be done before we move onto the next assignment. Have a look at the advice bellow and give this assessment another go. Good luck and have fun!
Extra -
When braking, you are still on the throttle (example) which means you need to brake more than optimal to get the car slowed down. Instead, focus on completely lifting off the throttle before applying the brakes. There are very few situations where you want to be pressing the throttle and brake at the same time. In some sims it will wear the brakes very quickly, but it also overheats the tyres and brakes which leads to lock ups and upsets the cars balance through corners.
----------------------
25/04/2026
This is a pass. Sometimes you really hit the throttle perfectly. There are a few hesitations but in general you are on the right track. As always, it is about the consistency of this. It is common for throttle work to be a more evolved process. Trickier to master and stay focused. When you achieve a good acceleration point then you'll be half way to achieving the desired smooth acceleration with no lifting off. Now focus on speeding this up, but not too much that you need to lift off - find the sweet spot.
Extra -
You are still using both the throttle and the brake at the same time in corners, which is costing you time, as you are asking the car to slow down and accelerate at the same time, causing you to overshoot the corner as you are unable to slow the car down quickly. Remember to use one pedal at a time, especially in the braking zones, as using both pedals will hurt your braking ability. - Example
----------------------
13/04/2026
Sorry for the delay - You need some work in this area, there were multiple times in one lap were you were getting on the power and having to lift off on exit. Practice hard and be extremely conscious of when you are lifting off the throttle (usually on corner exit). Try not to drive at 100% aggression. Back off a little until you get the feeling of pressing the throttle pedal in one direction throughout the corner exit. This is all about not lifting off the throttle.
Extra -
You are braking too early into some of the corners, resulting in you needing to get back on throttle in the braking zone to compensate for it. However, you are often using the throttle and the brake at the same time into the corners, and on the exit, you are lifting unnecessarily. Try avoid using both pedals at the same time so you can have more control of the car under braking and through the corner. And on the exit, use full throttle all the way, don't lift off the accelerator as this costs you time for the remainder of the straight. - Example
----------------------
28/03/2026
Your lap times are super consistent. Well done. Not much to comment on here. We will move onto the next assignment now. Remember to check back with the reference lap to see where you can improve. Good luck and have fun!
Extra -
Work on taking more speed into fast corners. Currently, you are lifting off the throttle or pressing the brakes in places that can make taken flat out (example). The best way to work on this is to slowly decrease the throttle lift/brake pressure until you are going wide and then increase it a little to stay on track. You will probably crash a few times trying this, so don't worry if you are going off track lots at the start.
----------------------
15/03/2026
There are some good times, however also too many invalid laps. I appreciate that this is inevitable when training but it is worth really focusing on this technique as nailing lap after lap without invalid laps is critical in a race situation. It can be the difference between a drive through or not. Slow you driving down a little and really concentrate on the consistency with valid laps. AÂ racing drivers main skill has to be able to achieve similar lap times lap after lap. Drop your speed 10%Â and achieve these valid laps to move on with your training.
Extra -
You're not maximising mid-corner velocity because the car isn't hugging the apex tightly enough. Always aim to use the full track limitsâwide entry, precise apex touch, wide exitâwherever the car is settled and under control. Example
â
----------------------
27/02/2026
Your racing lines are starting to look like you are understanding. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are still a few corners where you are entering too tight and exiting too narrow, which costs you minimum speed. It's just about a pass but lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.
Extra -
Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example
â
----------------------
13/02/2026
You've got a solid foundation with your lines, though fine-tuning you could make them even sharper. Braking is on point, but there's potential in the chicanes for better acceleration. Aim for quick spurts of speed where you can, keeping in mind that how you exit these sections defines your success. When possible, consider only partially lifting off the throttle instead of fully disengaging, perhaps by 30-50%. Above all, focus on your exit speed, as it's the key to better lap times.
Extra -
Sometimes you're turning your steering wheel a bit too much, mainly in the tighter corners. This can cause a lot of understeer since you're essentially making the tyres slide on the track. Try to reduce your steering input and then slightly turn a little more each lap. Once you see that the car is not responding to your inputs, you've found the tyres' grip limit. Now you only need to stay under that limit. Example
â
----------------------
30/01/2026
When it comes to the chicanes in particular there are some key areas we can look to improve. In particular you typically enter the corner slower than you could do. It is often because you are not committing and cutting the apexes as much as you could be, especially on the way in. Of course this is a fine balance but it looks like there is more on the table. The straighter the line you can get away with will allow you to carry the most speed through the back to back corners.
Extra -
The line is a touch too conservative through the middle of the corner, costing exit momentum. Get comfortable pushing to the edges of the track on turn-in, clipping the apex closer, and tracking out fully when the car is stable. Example
â
----------------------
17/01/2026
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.
Extra -
Try to be less erratic with the throttle, smaller motions will help. This is tricky but when you ease off the throttle, you often take the throttle to 20-30% pressure. Try to use smaller movements to avoid slowing the car too much. Example
â
----------------------
04/01/2026
Your apexes have improved this week. Well done, however there is still some work to be done in other areas before we move on. Let's have a look at your throttle and braking techniques bellow.
Extra -
In most corners you are going way to slowly and that's because of your throttle and brake inputs. In most highspeed corners, you are using too much brake pressure which slows you down too much, sometimes you were lifting off the throttle midway through the corner which costs you lots of time not only in the corner but also the following straight. You were also pressing the throttle and brake at the same time in some braking zones (example).
----------------------
19/12/2025
This week the braking points and apex work slipped a bit, so focus on tightening up those two areas before moving on to the next training stage. Once youâve nailed the braking points and power delivery, youâll free up more attention for throttle controlâand thatâs when youâll see the biggest gains in your times. Pulling all these skills together isnât easy, but stick with it; the payoff is worth the effort.
Extra -
By not aiming for the sharpest possible apex, you're losing precious speed mid-corner. It's crucial to make use of every bit of track space available at the entry, apex, and exit points where your vehicle maintains stability. Example
â
----------------------
05/12/2025
A little more work is needed here. There are some good segments and some bad segments. The main issue is your brake technique, but you are also wide at a few apexes. Have a look at the gears you are using as well. You are often a gear off the refence. Let's give this another go and try to apply everything we've been through previously on track!
Extra - Itâs great to see you trying lots of car/track combos! For coaching/improving it would be better of you could focus on 1 or 2 car/track combos at a time. Weâll be able to give you better advice and youâll improve faster from familiarity and then be able to transfer those skills onto other cars and track.
You are applying the throttle too early which causes you to go deep. Have a look at your braking as well, you are using too much pressure and are pressing the brakes multiple times in one braking zone. You want to apply the brakes quickly, hold the peak pressure (this changes depending on the corner) and then release quickly again. - example
----------------------
22/11/2025
Good corner gear choices in general. Sometimes you are one gear off the reference lap, try testing with the different cars that you drive. Try and compare the deltas to get a feeling for whether there is a big difference on your lap times. So you've reached a milestone - well done! Your next weeks training, will be assessed on how well you perform with all the plans that you have driven so far. You are currently doing really well and should find this straight forward, just strive to increase your consistency and push for slightly quicker lap times. Good luck! Time to bring all that you've learnt together now in the next assessment....
Extra - Brake harder and faster even on the fast corners, try a quick dab instead of your currently longer ease on and off, test these two styles. Example
â
----------------------
10/11/2025
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.
Extra - It looks like your steering angle is quite low compared to the reference driver. You might not quite be on the limit of grip - the optimal slip angle. Try to turn the wheel a little more to find the peak grip - but don't go over it. Example
----------------------
24/10/2025
Could you please drive more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to get a read of how you are doing, even if you are not driving as part of a specific plan. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!
----------------------
15/10/2025
Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.
Extra - Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example
----------------------
26/09/2025
Finding the fastest way through a corner isnât always about sticking to the line that feels âjust right.â Sometimes, pushing closer to the apex unlocks hidden speed. Imagine starting wide, aiming your entry toward the curb, and adjusting when you clip the apexâearlier or later, depending on the turnâs demands. On the exit, let the car drift naturally across the track, using every inch of space. Over time, these adjustments become automatic, and once they do, you can fine-tune your approach to shave off even more time.
Extra - You're sacrificing potential speed in the middle of turns by not cutting the apex as sharply as possible. Maximise the track's width on entry, at the apex, and on exit when the car is under control and stable. Example
----------------------
12/09/2025
Very nice, your braking points are decent. If anything you do brake slightly early, but that is suited to your level of experience. As you develop we can push those further. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks but you are already making progress. Â Braking is critical to set up the whole dynamic of a corner. If you don't get this right it is impossible to make up for it with other areas of driving. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! đȘ
Extra - You often accelerate too late and that cost you a lot of time. You aren't as fast to 100% with your throttle which is affecting your top speed on the subsequent straight. Practice a fast but smooth acceleration all the way to 100% throttle using as much of the track exit as available so that you can have as straight a wheel as possible. This will allow the car to use most of it's power for forward acceleration. Example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
Good luck and have fun on track đȘ
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
