Instructor Notes

13/04/2026 - 27/04/2026 - 11/06/2026
We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.  Good luck and have fun on track

Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. There are times when you could just brake a little bit faster, this would also help slow the car down faster. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! đŸ’Ș

Extra -

It’s great that your braking is good at the moment and your power is as described above; however, it is important to ensure you don't miss your braking points. This sometimes happens when you start applying power correctly however causing you to fail to hit your braking points. Take a look at this example, and you’ll see that your braking points are too early. Always be conscious of this when you're trying to combine different techniques. On the exit of this corner, you are not using the full width of the track. This is probably because you are a little nervous about holding your speed; however, if you check the difference between your lap and the reference lap, you will see that the reference lap was able toreach full throttle quicker than you- example

Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apex's, nice improvement. Great job using the whole width of the track.  Also have in the back of your mind the angle / direction of the car as you take the apex. The more it is facing in the direction of the coming straight the quicker you'll be able to effectively get on the throttle, therefore, the subtle skill of rotating car is getting more and more important.

Extra - You're driving really well and fast at the moment. Congratulations. One thing to work on a little bit is just being very conscious that you don't over turn the wheel too much. This will cause scrubbing, and this, as you know, will affect your speed on the corners. Try and use the minimum turning radius possible. Also, try not to leave your braking too late. As mentioned above, making sure you rotate the car quickly for the exit is very important - example

----------------------

17/02/2026
Finding the fastest way through a corner isn’t always about sticking to the line that feels “just right.” Sometimes, pushing closer to the apex unlocks hidden speed. Imagine starting wide, aiming your entry toward the curb, and adjusting when you clip the apex—earlier or later, depending on the turn’s demands. On the exit, let the car drift naturally across the track, using every inch of space. Over time, these adjustments become automatic, and once they do, you can fine-tune your approach to shave off even more time.

Extra - One area to target is improving your minimum speed in corners, which relies heavily on braking later and staying committed to the throttle through the turn. This will tighten the gap in your corner exit performance. For instance, experimenting with a slightly later braking zone can unlock more consistent speed retention. Example

----------------------

02/02/2026
Good job with your braking points. They were looking good. In one segment you were even able to brake later than the reference, without losing time on exit. Well done. Let's move onto the next assignment now. Good luck and have fun!

Extra - Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 20-30 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

Super close, but some more work is needed here before we move on. Have a look at the advice below and good luck!

Extra - Currently, you are braking too early in highspeed corners which means you are going too slowly.

You've taken the brake pressure advice from last time really well, however now we are using a tiny bit too much pressure. Only about 5-10% too much but try to reduce it a little to help with the cars balance going into corners. - example

----------------------

06/01/2026
Some more work is needed before we move on. Your lap times are good, however your braking points and inputs need some fine tuning before we move on. Have a look at the advice bellow and good luck!

Extra - You aren't using enough brake pressure right now which means you have to brake earlier. If you use more brake pressure you can brake later. When braking you want to press the brake quickly, then hold at peak pressure (pressure changes depending on the corner), then release quickly. Don't forget to compare with the reference lap to see what you're doing differently. - example

Because you weren't using enough brake pressure that meant you would sometimes take too much speed into corners, causing the car to snap and slide. - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track đŸ’Ș

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
