Decent use of trail braking, by releasing the brake slowly to help rotate the car around sharper hairpins and get back on the throttle smoothly. This will help shave tenths off your time as you are setting yourself up well for the corner exit. Try also to be a little flexible about the power of your braking, remember of faster corners you can avoid braking all the way to 100%. I would like to see you be a bit smoother with this technique as you are still a bit inconsistent.
You are braking too late, causing you to carry too much speed and overshoot the corner. Try braking earlier to avoid overshooting the corner, allowing you to maintain a higher minimum speed and gain more time overall by carrying more speed through the corner. - Example

As more skills are added to the combination assessments they naturally become harder. Essentially there are more areas where errors can be seen. You did an extremely good job last week and managed to pass. If you look back at your telemetry you'll be able to spot small improvements that are needed. For example, sometimes just a slight hesitation on the throttle as you accelerate or missing a tight apex.
Extra -
You are braking too early, causing your speed to drop earlier than optimal. You end up braking in an inconsistent pattern to try carry more speed under braking, but this costs you time rather than gaining you time. Try adjusting to a later braking point so you can gain more time by carrying more speed under braking, and it will allow you to have a more consistent braking pattern, easing off the brakes as you reach the apex. Doing this will gain you more time overall. - Example
----------------------

This is a pass. Sometimes you really hit the throttle perfectly. There are a few hesitations but in general you are on the right track. As always, it is about the consistency of this. It is common for throttle work to be a more evolved process. Trickier to master and stay focused. When you achieve a good acceleration point then you'll be half way to achieving the desired smooth acceleration with no lifting off. Now focus on speeding this up, but not too much that you need to lift off - find the sweet spot.
Extra -
You are sometimes very hesitant with going back on throttle on corner exit, causing your exit speed to be significantly hindered as a result and costing you a lot of time. Try getting back on throttle earlier so you can accelerate quicker out of the corner, and gain more time overall by carrying a higher exit speed. - Example
----------------------
07/05/2026
Nicely done, you show that consistency is there. Work on this more with more longer sessions of 20+ laps as ones concentration sometimes affects ones consistency in these longer sessions. This skill is important as you work towards your second Combination Assessment.
Extra -
You are on full throttle mid corner, causing you to have to lift off on the exit to avoid running off track, costing you significant time all the way down the straight as a result. Try lift of to reach the apex instead of being full throttle at the apex, so that way you can get back on full throttle and naturally drift out to the edge of the track, allowing you to maintain that full throttle, giving you a higher exit speed as a result and gaining you time overall. - Example
----------------------

Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.
Extra -
You are coming back on throttle too late, and you then lift in the middle of the Ascari chicane at Monza, costing you time unnecessarily. Try get back on throttle a bit quicker, and maintain full throttle to be able to carry more speed through the corner and gain more time. - Example
----------------------

Good control through the chicanes. Chicanes are a great insight into a drivers skill level as, it requires a good mastery of all skills, very quickly. Your racing line is good and your mid chicane acceleration is great. Also try to be quicker getting on the throttle on the exits (not just in chicanes). Remember gear choice is especially important in chicanes due to accelerating from slow speeds.
Extra -
In the two Lesmos at Monza, you are resting your foot on the throttle while braking and when turning into the corner, which causes your speed to increase as you are at the apex, and compromises your exit due to that extra speed, costing you significant time. Try avoid using two pedals at the same time, and be careful resting your foot on the throttle mid corner, try keep your foot off until you are ready to get back on the accelerator. - Example

Could you please run more laps? We need about 30 to 50 to make sure we're getting it right. The instructors are here to help whenever you're ready. Good luck, and hope you have a good time on the track!

No assessment.

Apologises for the delay. You've shown a good understanding of the skill we've looked at over the past two weeks. Well done. We'll move onto the next skill now. Good luck and have fun!
Extra -Often, you are holding your steering angle for too long on the exit of corners. This can cause you to run wide as you end up inducing understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

Overall performance in this assessment did not meet the required standard to progress to the next training plan. There were inconsistencies across the lap that affected your overall pace and control. While some sections showed potential, the combination of skills needs further refinement to reach the necessary consistency. Keep practicing with focused sessions, review your telemetry for patterns, and build toward greater reliability lap after lap. With continued effort, you'll be ready to advance soon.
Extra - A key area for improvement is your trail braking approach. Ensuring smooth brake modulation helps maintain car balance and maximizes tire grip. Apply strong braking at first, then slowly reduce pressure as you steer into the corner, completing the release at the apex. As an example, start easing off the brakes right at turn-in to carry more controlled speed through the corner. Example

Good job with your gearing. It's correct for the most part. Sometimes you are shifting up a bit too early which costs you time down the straights. We'll move onto the next assignment now. Good luck and have fun!
Extra - Have a look at your steering inputs. Often, you are turning the wheel too much. Try to reduce your inputs by 10-20 degrees to avoid understeer. Understeer is when the front tyres lose grip before the rear tyres, which results in the car steering less than optimal. This can cause the tyres to wear faster and increase tyre temps (making the tyre too hot), you'll also have to go slower through corners to make it around. - example

Extra - Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example

12/01/2026
Very nice, be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to lose too much speed by braking too heavily, generally you are OK at this but a couple of mistakes were visible. Occasionally you were applying the brakes when not needed. A quick check back at the reference lap will really help find these little wins. Next up is your first acceleration technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪

Fantastic racing line and you are hitting nearly all of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can slowly tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are nailing the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up!
Extra - We've observed that you could enhance your trail braking technique. Maintaining braking smoothness is key in racing to keeping the car balanced and maximising grip. You should apply the brakes sharply at first, but then release them gradually. Begin easing off the brakes right as you start turning into the corner, and continue this slow release as you increase the steering angle until you hit the apex. Here's an example.

Welcome Back!

Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on. Important! Be careful how much pressure you apply on fast sweeping corners, it is important not to loose too much speed by braking too heavily. Next up is your first racing line technique, good luck and keep knocking out those laps! 💪
Extra - A good thing to remember when you're driving is that being smooth is being fast and that is especially true regarding the brake pedal. While the first attack on the brakes is supposed to be very quick, releasing the brakes is a slow and smooth process. Try to start releasing the brakes at around the turn-in point and do it in a gradual motion until you reach the apex. Here's a good example for you to take into account.

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.
Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.
We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.
Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.
The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.
If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"
Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.
Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
