Instructor Notes

Your racing lines are starting to look like you know what you are doing. In most situations we want to open up the entry and exit of the corner so that when we clip the apex the path we travel has the largest possible radius. This allows you to carry the most possible speed through the corner. There are exceptions, for example in corner complexes, where sometimes a compromise is required. There are a few corners where you are still entering too tight, which costs you minimum speed. Lets keep working on this as you go into the next challenge - Consistency.

Bonus Focus Point

You are too slow coming back on throttle when exiting the corner, costing you a lot of time as a result of your exit speed is significantly lower than optimal as you leave the corner. Try get on the throttle quicker so you can accelerate out of the corner faster, letting you carry a higher exit speed and gain more time overall. - Example

We are ready to assess your practice from last week. Please provide us some laps and we'll check again on your next turnover day. To really learn a track in Sim racing, from our analysis of users data between 30-50 laps in a week are required to improve significantly (depending on track length).

The next Instructor notes will be provided when we have sessions to review. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing your improvements. 😁

28/05/2026
You've got a solid foundation with your lines, though fine-tuning you could make them even sharper. Braking is on point, but there's potential in the chicanes for better acceleration. Aim for quick spurts of speed where you can, keeping in mind that how you exit these sections defines your success. When possible, consider only partially lifting off the throttle instead of fully disengaging, perhaps by 30-50%. Above all, focus on your exit speed, as it's the key to better lap times.

Extra -

You are a holding the brakes for too long, causing your apex speed to be lower than optimal. You are also a bit too slow getting back on throttle on the exit, resulting in your exit speed being compromised, as well as your speed for the remainder of the straight. Try releasing the brakes earlier so you can carry a higher apex speed, and also allowing you to get back on throttle quicker to give you a higher exit speed, gaining you time overall both for a higher minimum speed through the corner, and more speed being carried for the straight. - Example

----------------------

13/05/2026
A good combination assessment. There were many good laps exhibited and the majority of the racing skills learnt have been displayed on multiple segments. There were some areas where improvements are needed and these will lower your lap times. Firstly, work hard at those braking points. If there is one area that needs to be studied and perfected, this is the most useful. Secondly, there are a number of times that your gear choice could be improved. Learning really comes from driving, analysing and then driving again until you feel you've reached a wall then analysing again. This habit will really help you improve as quickly as possible.

Extra -

You are braking too early and slowly, causing your speed to drop significantly earlier than the ideal braking zone, costing you time as a result. Try brake later and with more pressure at a quicker rate, so you can gain more time just by carrying more speed under braking, but also so you can slow down that extra speed more efficiently. - Example

----------------------

28/04/2026
There is some good segments and some bad. The main issue is the braking point and the power of braking. These need looking at again as you struggled to find your braking points. Your gear choice was very good. Bringing all these skills together at the same time takes time and effort. Concentrate on one or two tracks and you should have this in the bag. Remember try a few quick sessions to ensure there are no glaring errors when you review your telemetry.

Extra -

You are braking too early, resulting in not having any speed for the actual braking point, meaning you have to release the brakes and reapply them to carry some speed into the corner, costing you a significant amount of time. Have a look at the reference lap, and try braking later and with more brake pressure, so you can gain time by carrying more speed under braking, but also to slow down the extra speed more efficiently. - Example

31/03/2026
This week the braking points and apex work slipped a bit, so focus on tightening up those two areas before moving on to the next training stage. Once you’ve nailed the braking points and power delivery, you’ll free up more attention for throttle control—and that’s when you’ll see the biggest gains in your times. Pulling all these skills together isn’t easy, but stick with it; the payoff is worth the effort.

Extra -

Here you go too deep into the first part of the chicane. This makes the final turn much tighter and means you cannot accelerate out early enough. You lose time from this mistake. Compromise in chicanes is key to the best overall time. Example

‍

----------------------

17/03/2026
Overall performance in this assessment did not meet the required standard to progress to the next training plan. There were inconsistencies across the lap that affected your overall pace and control. While some sections showed potential, the combination of skills needs further refinement to reach the necessary consistency. Keep practicing with focused sessions, review your telemetry for patterns, and build toward greater reliability lap after lap. With continued effort, you'll be ready to advance soon.

Extra -

One area to target is improving your minimum speed in corners, which relies heavily on braking later and staying committed to the throttle through the turn. This will tighten the gap in your corner exit performance. For instance, experimenting with a slightly later braking zone can unlock more consistent speed retention. Example

‍

----------------------

04/03/2026
Your gear choices were good but often you were upshifting too late on corner exit. This can cost you time under acceleration. We'll move onto the next assessment now, good luck and have fun!

Extra -

Sometimes, you were approaching the corner from the inside of the track. This can cost you lots of time through the corner, acceleration and the following straight. - example

----------------------

17/02/2026
Your braking is looking good. There are places you could improve but in general you follow the power and speed of the reference driver well. Try to be a bit smoother on the pedal and avoid pumping the brake which can unsettle the car. Keep it up and look forward to reviewing your gearing next.

Extra -

You're carrying less speed through the turn by missing the optimal apex. Make a habit of exploiting every inch of tarmac on the way in, at the clipping point, and on the way out when traction and stability allow it. Example

‍

----------------------

03/02/2026
Okay, you are hitting most of your apex's. The smoother you can be with your racing line the more you can distribute grip to all four tyres. There are a few areas you can tweak over time on your entry and exit lines but you are starting to learn the clipping points mid-corner. Keep it up! You just need to apply this on every corner.

Extra -

The key issue we're seeing is that you're throttling down too soon instead of ramping up to full power. Adjust your racing line just a touch, getting closer to the apex, and you'll notice a real boost in performance. Example

‍

----------------------

20/01/2026
There are moments when you nail the apex perfectly, staying tight with a solid line through the corner and a smooth exit. However, there are still too many instances where you're not fully maximizing this, and there's potential to get even tighter on the apex. Remember to begin wide on the entry kerb, focus on your apex (whether it's early or late), and accelerate so that you're using the full width of the track. With a bit more practice, you'll develop a better feel for each corner. Once you’ve got that, you can start fine-tuning for smaller improvements. Aim to get at least 20 more laps in to see noticeable progress.

Extra -

Avoid hitting the brake pedal multiple times in one braking zone. Ideally you want to hit it firmly to begin with and then ease off as things slow down. Hitting it more than once suggests you broke too early. Example

‍

----------------------

06/01/2026
Please drive more laps. It isn't possible to get a fair and true reflection of this assessment without at least 30-50 laps being completed. The instructors are ready to help you when you are ready.

Good luck and have fun on track đŸ’Ș

----------------------

23/12/2025
Sometimes, you'll hit the perfect line through a corner—clean, sharp, with a strong exit. But there's often more speed to be found by hugging the apex even tighter. Start by taking a wide approach at the entry curb, focusing on your apex timing (be it early or late), then accelerate out in a way that utilizes the entire width of the track. As you accumulate more laps, this technique will become second nature. Once you've got consistency down, you can make small tweaks to cut down your lap times even more.

Extra - Your car's speed through the corner suffers because you're not hugging the apex closely. Remember to leverage the full width of the track right from the entry, through the apex, and as you exit, particularly where your car feels stable. Example

----------------------

09/12/2025
Finding the fastest way through a corner isn’t always about sticking to the line that feels “just right.” Sometimes, pushing closer to the apex unlocks hidden speed. Imagine starting wide, aiming your entry toward the curb, and adjusting when you clip the apex—earlier or later, depending on the turn’s demands. On the exit, let the car drift naturally across the track, using every inch of space. Over time, these adjustments become automatic, and once they do, you can fine-tune your approach to shave off even more time.

Extra - There is a big gap between lifting off and braking in most corners. This is useful if you are trying to save fuel but it won't help your lap times. Consider tightening this up to shave those hundredths. Example

----------------------

25/11/2025
Very nice, your braking points are sharp and spot on. Important! You have clearly got good reference markers. There are a few areas we can work on over the coming weeks with regards to brake pressure and trailbraking to improve lap time further. Take a look at the way the reference driver smoothly bleeds off the brakes when going into a corner. This is better for weight transfer and overall grip.

Extra - You are steering too much in the fast, long corners. This exceeds the tyres grip and causes understeer. Try turning 10-15 degrees less through those long, last corners. Not only does this create understeer, but it also overheats your tyres and increases tyre wear. - example

Great to have you onboard and hope you are ready to do some training! The process is super simple. Every two weeks you'll have an assigned task which your instructor will set based on our training schedule. Each task will be an important driving technique that you'll need to master in order to progress to the next discipline.

Having assessed and written hundreds of training plans, Track Titan instructors have analysed our drivers achievements and pitfalls and the results show that a consistent application of the driving techniques is crucial to progressing as a good, fast and safe driver. Therefore, every two weeks you'll be tested for consistency and quality of the chosen technique. If the instructor feels that more time on track is required to progress then no problem, hone your skills, dig deep and you'll soon pass to the next discipline.

We have assigned you a turnover day, the instructors will then assess your driving and provide your score for the assigned task and your progress. This will be vary, but is normally available within one to three days.

Please follow the advice in the assigned task and practice this race technique as much as you can in the next fortnight. We require 30-50 laps in this period to give you a good assessment of your driving. Remember, referring back to the reference lap and in particular the telemetry data to see how you need to perform to perfect a skill will aid your progress and competence.

The Instructors will look through the sessions and laps you have completed over the last fourteen days. Priority will be given to hot lapping and time trial laps if available. We understand that with changing conditions (tyre wear, weather, fuel load etc.) the ability to perform consistently and with quality similar to the reference lap alters. This is taken into account with all our assessments. Needless to say, the more laps driven the better your training and practice will be and the better the understanding of your current abilities.

If you have a different motivational goal, please let us know and we'll change it from "Improve driving technique"

Enjoy the training, enjoy the journey.

Good luck and have fun on track đŸ’Ș

Yours sincerely,
The Instructors
