Conclusion

Most of your time lost is down to your gear choice. Corner speed is being hindered by often dropping one gear lower than needed.

Assigned Task

To gain an advantage in a race scenario, you need to improve your consistency. Your choice of car / track but complete a minimum of 6 laps each time and remain with +/- 3 seconds on every lap.

1st key mistake:

Gear too low

Why it matters

There are many situations on track where it is better to run the car in a higher gear to gain full potential from the engine.

How much of a problem it is for you

Over a quarter of all your errors were associated with either not using the full torque of the motor due to gearing ratios, or pushing the gear too far.

Segment 3 shows how by remaining in 7th gear it is costing you time as the speed lines are diverging.

Please take a moment to watch the following video for great information on downshifting and how the car is affected by different methods of braking.

2nd key mistake:

Turning in too early

Why it matters

By turning in too early this can lead to problems with getting on the throttle quickly on corner exit. The sf70h needs the full width of the track to handle the throttle control.

How much of a problem it is for you

Over 11% of your errors are linked to turning in too early.

See an example in your own sessions

Check out how you lose three tenths in one simple corner in segment 11.  The grip map along with the braking graph can be used to monitor corner entry.

Learn to improve

Your racing line is very good but with such an unforgiving car as the Ferrari SF70H any small error will be magnified.

3rd key mistake:

Braking too late

Why it matters

The desire to brake late is often strong. However, there is much more time to be gained on corner exit especially when it leads onto a long fast section.

How much of a problem it is for you

Only a few mistakes are linked to braking too late. Just double check that you aren't losing too much time in the sections due to braking late.

See an example in your own sessions

An example can be found in segment 1. This V-line can be useful so low as you don't lose too much speed through the apex of the corner.  You were almost 15kph slower through the apex compared to the reference lap.

Learn to improve

Your understanding of the racing line is very good and used well throughout the track. Be conscious of your corner speed, as once lost, nothing will bring it back.
